LOCATION
Good location. In the immediate vicinity of "Old Hanoi" and the former "French Quarter." Some long-distance buses also make their final stop nearby. Airport bus stop and bus to the main bus station are a 5-minute walk away.
SERVICE
Excellent welcome and excellent customer service. They provide a lot of advice.
Excellent work by the housekeeping and restaurant staff.
Drawback: the staff, being paid based on customer satisfaction ratings, tend to be a bit pushy to get a 10 out of the box. The rating itself is completely deserved for this staff, but the approach is questionable.
ENVIRONMENT
Quiet neighborhood, despite the boulevard (but I had the rooms furthest from it). Very well-maintained hotel. Quality furnishings. Spotlessly clean.
For this reservation, I was upgraded to a family room [room 404]. Rather than an upgrade, I suspect the room category I had booked was no longer available. I arrived very late, at 11 p.m., and changed rooms the very next morning. So I didn't say anything. But this "upgrade" wasn't very satisfactory in my case. Having two enormous beds in the room for just one person adds nothing. On the contrary, there was much less free space, and no dedicated area for luggage. The window looked directly onto a dirty wall, so the light was reduced.
BREAKFAST
Good buffet. Well-stocked. Lots of fruit. The dishes aren't gourmet, but decent for the price.
