Toyoko Inn Busan Station No.1

2026.10.10 The location is right next to Busan Station, with an Olive Young just across the street and a CU convenience store on the ground floor. The subway station for Busan Station is also very close, just a 3-minute walk. It's a very convenient hotel, especially as a last stop before heading back home. The Korean receptionist spoke fluent Japanese and smoothly rattled off the hotel facilities and important notices like a crosstalk performer. The top floor is the 21st, and we were assigned to the 16th floor, which was great. For floors 11 and above, you can't take elevator No. 1; you need to use the two elevators on the opposite side. We didn't have to wait long, and the elevators were fast. You need to tap your key card outside the elevator before entering, which felt very secure. The room was very clean and tidy, and the mattress had a medium firmness. At night, we heard some chanting from outside Busan Station—probably a protest—but it stopped on time and didn't really bother us. The bathtub was very Japanese—small and with a unique color—making it feel like being back in a Japanese hotel while in Korea. Breakfast the next morning started at 6:30, with the last entry at 8:30, and ended at 9:00. I went down to the second floor just before 7:00; although it was early, quite a few guests were already eating. Table turnover was fast. The breakfast had a very Korean style, featuring kimchi pancakes and various types of kimchi, though the tomato pasta was a bit too sweet. Another memorable item was the oden fish cakes and konjac blocks, and the variety was surprisingly rich. The caffe latte was sweet and delicious. You can also take a cup to-go after finishing your meal. After check-out, you can store your luggage for free until evening. They give you a luggage tag, which made picking it up feel very secure. There's free instant coffee available at the front desk on the first floor, and a microwave and public restroom in the lobby for use before or after check-out. A really great experience overall.

Standard Japanese hotel, clean and hygienic. Apart from being a bit small, everything else was great. The location is also convenient, making it quite suitable for solo travelers, especially backpackers. I would choose to stay here again next time.

1. There is a bit of discrimination against Chinese guests; the staff were extremely fawning toward Japanese guests while adopting a lukewarm attitude toward us. 2. For my two-day stay, I was assigned a single room and a twin room, both located on the lowest floor—the 3rd floor—at the very end of the hallway (far left and far right), with staircases right next to both rooms. Given that this is a dozen-story hotel and I hadn't specified any floor restrictions for either room, what a coincidence! It was so absurd it actually made me laugh. 3. Now for the most ridiculous part: perhaps because it was during a busy period (like business/busy season), it was practically impossible to catch an elevator in the morning. Every time, I had to haul my huge suitcase down the stairs. 4. A 10:00 AM check-out time is also quite something. Nearly everyone was rushing to the front desk at that exact time to queue up for luggage storage. I had to wait half an hour just to drop off my bags, and the storage lockers were very limited. 5. The breakfast selection was extremely sparse. You even had to wait in line just to grab a mini sausage (with older guests cutting in line, to boot), and breakfast ended at 9:00 AM sharp. If you went down at 8:30 AM, much of the food was already gone. 6. Although the hotel is right next to the train station, there were people sprawled all over the ground drinking late into the night, looking somewhat like homeless people. If you're walking by alone at night, you need to be careful. 7. And honestly, compared to all the issues above, the fact that the room was tiny hardly even feels worth mentioning.

The breakfast is rich with a variety of local specialties, and they serve oranges as well. There is also a coffee machine available during breakfast for free-flowing coffee, and the water dispenser even has an ice-making function. The staff are warm and welcoming, and the room is clean and tidy. While the small bathroom is a common issue in Japanese hotels, I still strongly recommend this place overall for its great value for money. The bed space is plenty, and bottled water is provided according to the number of guests.

This is a very typical Japanese hotel – compact but fully equipped. Although the room is small, every inch of space is utilized to its fullest: the bed is comfortable, storage is well-organized, and the en-suite bathroom is clean and refreshing. Even the arrangement of toiletries reflects a unique Japanese sense of order. The cleanliness is impeccable; every nook and cranny is spotless, providing a sense of peace of mind from the moment you check in. The location is also excellent. The subway station is just a short walk away, making it incredibly convenient to visit all major Tokyo attractions without needing a taxi. There are convenience stores, restaurants, and drugstores all around, so you'll never go hungry even if you return late at night.
