PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, Singapore

Out of 6 nights in Singapore, we stayed 4 nights at PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, Singapore and 2 nights in Sentosa. This downtown hotel is very close to the MRT, right next to Marina Square and Suntec City, making dining and shopping very convenient. It's also not far from Marina Bay Sands and the Merlion. From our room, we could see Marina Bay Sands, the Merlion, Supertree Grove, and the Singapore Flyer. At night, when the lights come on, the entire bay is beautiful. Having breakfast in the garden atrium, with the crisp chirping of birds, felt like living in a breathing garden.

The room was very clean and super comfortable, I loved it so much, and the staff were all very helpful. However, the front desk staff automatically spoke English at first during check-in, which could be a bit more attentive to details.

The balcony room is quite spacious with a great view. You can see Sands and the Merlion. The breakfast selection is decent. The hotel also features an outdoor swimming pool. Front desk check-in is on the 4th floor. The hotel is very distinctive with its bird's nest 🪹 design.

The hotel boasts a fantastic location, right above Suntec City and Marina Square, making shopping and dining extremely convenient with easy access to the MRT. The hotel is quite dated and hasn't changed much since I was a student over a decade ago, though it is well-maintained. We checked in right when preparations for the F1 road closures were underway, so transportation was somewhat inconvenient, but that couldn't be helped. Actually, I booked very early, but I was still assigned a low floor, while Caucasian guests checking in at the same time mostly got high floors. It seems the pro-Western bias of Singaporeans hasn't changed at all over the years, just like the hotel. Even more bafflingly, during check-out, while there was a queue at one counter, staff at the other two counters just watched me wait without any guidance or acknowledgment that they were busy with something else. After waiting for ages, I ended up using the express check-out myself. Overall, it's just average. The location is its saving grace, but otherwise, there are too many similar alternatives to choose from.

The hotel's location is quite convenient. You can access the mall directly from the 4th-floor lobby via a spiral staircase. The room isn't huge, and the facilities are a bit compact, but everything you need is there. The service was unsatisfactory. Upon check-in at night, we were told our luggage had already been sent to the room, but when we got there, it wasn't. We called room service to help find it, and it took 20 minutes for them to call back and ask for our luggage tag number. After that, there was no further communication. We had to follow up once or twice more before our luggage finally arrived an hour later. We needed to get up early for a flight the next day and were looking forward to resting, but our rest time was delayed, and the hotel didn't even offer an apology.

I absolutely loved the location! It's very close to the Merlion and Marina Bay Sands, with plenty of dining options nearby. After walking all day, you don't need to take a long taxi ride. Breakfast had a short queue, but it moved quickly and wasn't crowded at all. Overall, it was a very comfortable stay. I’d definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to visit Marina Bay! The only, and I mean *only*, downside is that the bathroom is really small, and the bathtub is quite low and not very practical. (I didn't stay in an ocean-view room, so I can't comment on the view.)

Excellent location and a superb environment, befitting its status as one of Asia's top 100 design hotels. The rescued birds are a nice touch and a definite plus. Check-in required a wait, but check-out was so quick that I wasn't even sure what the final charge would be. The roads around PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, Singapore were blocked off due to F1 preparations, which made walking navigation a bit tricky.
