HanTing Hotel (Shanghai Train Station South Square)

We booked a hourly room for a short rest. The room was very clean. We only booked one room for four people, and we just had to register, which was very convenient.

The front desk service was good. The hotel is located on the South Square of Shanghai Railway Station, just a few minutes' walk to the train station and subway, making it very convenient for transportation. The room layout was well-designed, clean, hygienic, and comfortable.

I chose this hotel because it was close to the train station, but I really regret it. The air conditioning, both inside and outside, made a constant, loud buzzing noise. I'd strongly advise against staying here if you're not someone who can sleep through anything. I might not have noticed it during the day, but at night, it felt like sleeping next to a server room. Even when the AC was off and the room key card was removed, the vents were still buzzing loudly, much louder than normal operation, making it impossible to sleep. I contacted the hotel, and the maintenance staff tried to fix it, but it was still incredibly noisy, like sleeping with machinery. The final solution they offered was to bring my own earplugs...

This Hanting hotel met my expectations in every way. The transportation is convenient, and the hygiene is excellent. It's just a 5-minute walk to the train station for trains to Hangzhou, and a nearby subway entrance is right next door. Great value for money!

I was a bit nervous booking this hotel after reading some reviews, but it turned out to be really good. The room was spacious and clean. The housekeeping staff were excellent, always ready to help with anything we needed. Since I was traveling with my child and elderly parents, we opted for ride-sharing services instead of the subway. It cost around 33-35 yuan for a taxi to the Bund and about 35 yuan to the Lujiazui 'Three-piece Suit' skyscrapers. To get to Nanjing Road, it's a five-minute walk to the subway station, and then a 10-minute subway ride. Going to Shiliupu Cruise Terminal Gate 2 at 5 PM was a bit traffic-heavy, costing 52 yuan. Getting to Disneyland by subway took about an hour and ten minutes; the hotel is a five-minute walk from Subway Line 1, which connects to Line 11 directly to the Disney entrance – very convenient. That's why I didn't bother booking a hotel near Disneyland.

Pros: I chose the king-size room, and it was spacious, had a window, and was very clean. It's only a 5-7 minute walk from the train station, and it's super convenient for taking the subway or a taxi. I'd definitely stay here again! 😊 Suggestions: First, it would be great if the breakfast selection was richer. Second, although the room had a window, it faced the road, so it was a bit noisy. You really need to keep the windows closed to make it better!
