Hotel Royal Singapore

This was my first time in Singapore, and the two Chinese staff members at the front desk, Spencer and another gentleman, were incredibly friendly. They made such a positive first impression of Singapore as a travel destination. Spencer even recommended nearby places to visit, and it was clear he was a seasoned, experienced staff member. His warm reception immediately created a lively atmosphere. We arrived early that day, and another Chinese staff member enthusiastically helped us get into our room as quickly as possible. We're very grateful to him. The hotel's facilities are a bit old, and I hope the management can renovate them soon.

The information stated that the hotel was renovated in 2026, but upon entering the room, it looked the same as it did years ago when I stayed there. The room had an old, musty smell, and the facilities felt dated. As for location, there's a bus stop right outside with multiple routes, and it's about a ten-minute walk to two nearby shopping malls and the MTR station.

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid! I can't stress this enough! Unless you want your family to feel sick, or spend a sleepless night! The smell of mold in the room will make you want to vomit! 🤮 This is no exaggeration! I originally booked for three nights, but we fled early on the second morning! We didn't want to stay for another moment! We'd rather waste thousands of dollars than stay there! You can imagine how terrible the room was! The decor is an 80s style, broken, old, and dark. Walking down the hallway at night, I kept thinking something was following me. In short, I advise all fellow travelers to avoid this place! Let this be a warning to all! Every word is true!

This hotel wasn't our first choice, but most hotels in Singapore have a strict no-cancellation policy, so we procrastinated. Then the prices kept going up, and many places were fully booked. We snagged a room here, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise! The room is spacious, the bed is big enough, and the transportation is convenient. Very satisfied!

The service was good, and they offered Chinese-speaking staff. The room facilities were a bit old but still clean and quite spacious. The only downside was its distance from the scenic spots; walking to them was inconvenient. However, for a hotel of similar quality, the price was relatively reasonable.

I originally booked this well-reviewed hotel for a trip to Singapore with my two kids, hoping for a comfortable stay. The room was supposed to have a king bed, a single bed, and a sofa bed. We arrived early in the morning and offered to pay extra for early check-in, as we were all exhausted from an overnight flight, but the hotel refused, so we accepted that. We finally checked in around 5 PM, and there were still people cleaning the room, but we didn't say anything. When we turned on the air conditioning, it was incredibly loud, and the sofa bed wasn't made up. We contacted the front desk to ask for a room change or a repair, but they ignored us. We followed up three times, but nothing was done. We were already very tired, and by 10 PM, no one had come. Finally, I called and firmly stated that our reservation was for four beds, not an extra request, and I even recorded the call. Only then did someone come to make the bed. The sofa bed sheets were practically dragging on the floor. We couldn't open the window for ventilation, and I constantly felt like the room had a lingering odor. The pillowcases had bloodstains and large yellow sweat marks; I had to use my own disposable pillow covers. The room's facilities were also very old, with an old-fashioned bathtub. The paint around the air conditioning vent was all peeling off, which I forgot to photograph. Most importantly, the room's WiFi was terrible; the TV kept disconnecting. I really couldn't stand it. It definitely wasn't worth the price of 1300 RMB per night; in China, I could get a much better hotel for that. Alas, for our safety, our family had to endure our 6-day, 5-night Singapore trip with a noisy air conditioner that no one fixed. Afterward, the hotel still refused to acknowledge the issues, which is truly speechless. This is for the reference of Chinese friends going to Singapore later, to help them avoid this pitfall.

Absolutely fantastic, and very affordable! Overall, it's a great value, and I highly recommend it. My stay far exceeded expectations; I was very satisfied with everything. The location is excellent, close to transportation hubs, making taxis and public transport super convenient. The room was spacious and tidy, with meticulous cleaning details. The bathroom had a separate wet and dry area, and the toiletries were well-stocked. The bed was just the right firmness, and the soundproofing was good, so it was quiet at night, ensuring a high-quality rest. The front desk service was patient and efficient, responding promptly to any requests. The entire environment was clean and comfortable. It's suitable for both short layovers and longer stays, definitely worth recommending to everyone.
