Garden View Ubud

Excellent hotel, conveniently located, clean bedding, beautiful garden, but there were ants in the room. The staff is friendly and pleasant, I booked excursions through the hotel, the price was excellent (I recommend climbing Mount Batur). Bike rentals and money exchange offices are nearby.

We booked a superior garden view room with breakfast included. Initially, we were given a room with a terribly moldy smell—it was impossible to breathe, giving us a headache right away. There was no balcony, and it was nothing like the picture. We asked for a small refrigerator in the room, and when they brought one, it turned out not to be working, and all the food had spoiled. After asking to be moved, they moved us to the second floor. The room had nothing. A table, a bed, and that's it, no amenities. There were only two electrical outlets in the room. But at least it didn't smell of damp. The rooms are from the 2000s, everything is old, and the balcony door had a wooden latch that could easily be ripped off from the other side if you press on the door. The hotel is located near a monkey forest; they come to rob vacationers. We had to give up our fruit, as the monkeys are quite aggressive. In the middle of the night, we were awakened by a terrible knock on the door. It was the monkeys throwing stones at the hotel. The receptionist said breakfast starts at 7:30, we arrived at 7:40, and another receptionist said breakfast starts at 8:00, but we had to leave at 8:00 and left hungry. Later in the evening, I wanted to take a shower, but there was no hot water. After asking for something to be done, it appeared, but it was so slow that it was impossible to even wash. I had to wash myself with a kettle. The toilet flush button kept sticking. The bed linen was all yellow, as were the towels. There was hair and trash on the floor. There are many wonderful villas for this price. I wouldn't recommend anyone to stay here. I don't understand how there are so many positive reviews. The only positive is the staff, who did everything possible to rectify the situation.

The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. Breakfast is included, but the selection is very limited. For the same price, you can choose your breakfast at a nearby establishment. There was a kettle in the room, but we couldn't use it because there were only two outlets: one above the baseboard—far from the table and bed—and one in the shower. Charging more than two devices is a problem. Overall, the rooms are in need of renovation. Everything is tired and has old stains, including the bed linens and towels. The staff is pleasant and helpful. Monkeys sneak into the grounds, so don't leave your belongings unattended. Another drawback is that the windows in the room are not glazed. They have micro-bars that keep insects out, but if people are talking nearby, it's difficult to sleep.

There are geckos in the room. It smells musty. There is no shower. The facilities are poor.
