Sofitel Shahd Al Madinah

Trip.com described Sofitel as a leading premium hotel and we were so excited to give a try. But it turned out to be not quite accurate : 1. The hotel layout, its setting in particular the lobby area and reception is so small and does not exude any premium vibes. 2. The lifts, are also quite tiny and if a wheelchair user gets in, then it feels crowded already. 3. The room once we entered was not fully ready eg wrong name displayed on tv screen, bathrobe not hung as it should be, no towels etc etc. Pls refer to the pictures attached.

My stay at Sofitel Madinah was overall wonderful, thanks to its prime location next to the Prophet’s Mosque, luxurious and clean rooms, and serene, elegant atmosphere. Dining options were excellent, and the staff were attentive and professional. A special thanks to Feras Almulla, who provided wonderful, attentive service and made my stay even more enjoyable. The only downside for a five-star hotel is the absence of a jacuzzi, sauna, or steam room, which I expected for this level of luxury. Despite that, Sofitel Madinah remains a top choice for comfort, convenience, and a memorable stay in the holy city.

Location and room was good. Lifts coordination can be better as there are separate lifts and sometimes ppl press all and see which open first. The ramps and lifts and are not exactly wheelchair friendly as lifts are small. But there are always hotel staffs ready to help with ramps. Breakfast is great. Enjoyed our 4 nights at your junior suite and near ladies gate.

Great location, 30 seconds away from the mosque. Bed was comfy although pillows were too high for our baby. Room was very clean and as pictures displayed. Great view from breakfast hall.

Service beyond expectations. Was upgraded to Presidential Suite from Junior Suite with Partial Haram View by the polite and kind DM Anas. Very large living area. Bed is very comfortable and nice bed linen and pillows. Hotel is close to men’s entrance to haram mosque. Look forward for the widespread bf and dinner of quality. For someone fussy about food pretty pleased. Restaurant staff servers do their due diligence to serve but sometime they cater better service to certain individuals. Table setting can be improved. One of the server bad attitude. Small built and not helpful. Chefs passionate in their food preparation.

I had a great experience at this hotel. Friendly and helpful staff and a very convenient location. Plenty of food places around and only a 2/3 minute walk to the mosque.

Second visited. Good room. Good service while check in. Food almost the same day by day, kinda boring after 2 days stay

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 An absolutely wonderful stay! The location is unbeatable – just a minute’s walk to the Haram. The hotel is spotless, always smells fresh, and the staff at reception and housekeeping are extremely professional, humble, and welcoming. Rooms are perfectly sized, with cozy beds, excellent bathrooms, and great amenities. I loved the complimentary Nespresso machine with unlimited pods, free drinks, and the fruit/snack basket delivered every other day. Breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of dishes and an impressive selection of teas and coffees. The hotel also has a beautiful prayer area. For families, this hotel is perfect – it has a kids’ nursery and play area with a nanny’s supervision, so parents can relax while children are entertained in a safe environment. One of the best hotels in Madinah – highly recommended for both families and solo travelers.

A hotel overlooking the Civil Haram, clean and the rooms are large, and the breakfast (Ramadan and Suhoor breakfast) is excellent and diverse, I recommend the hotel, but it is very expensive in Ramadan.
