Mercure ICON Singapore City Centre

I arrived at 12:00 PM, and the receptionist initially informed me that I would be staying for only 1 night, despite having 2 separate bookings under my name for a total of 3 nights. After completing the registration, I was asked to return at 3:00 PM, which I understand is the standard check-in time. However, I waited until around 2:30 PM with no update on my room status and had to follow up myself. The staff did not provide any update or apology for the wait. I fully understand that check-in time is at 3:00 PM, but basic communication and empathy toward guests are equally important. On my last night, someone called my room at around 10:00 PM while I was already asleep ahead of an early morning flight, which was quite disruptive. Overall, my sleep quality during this stay was very poor. On a positive note, the hotel’s location is very convenient, within about a 5-minute walk to Chinatown and the MRT. The view from the room is also nice, and the bed is comfortable.

the hotel service is very good, from lobby staff, bell boy, house keeping. everyone very friendly and helpful. room seize is very small and as expected. but locations super good. walking distance to 2 famous kawker centers and many popular restaurants. even rides to merlion only 10mins. very convenient!

The hotel is near China town and the location is very convenient if need to visit these places. The lobby design is trendy. The room I booked is a superior bed with balcony of which the view is very nice as it can see the pool at the ground floor. The facilities is up to the required standard. One thing need to improve is the tissue paper inside the toilet which is not convenient to get. Other than that, it is a good choice if visited Singapore.
