Wanfangyuan International Hotel (Beijing South Railway Station)

This was my first time staying at Wanfangyuan International Hotel (Beijing South Railway Station branch). The hotel is conveniently located, just about a 7-minute walk from Majiapu Station on Metro Line 4. Transferring to other lines to reach various attractions is also very easy. Upon check-in, the front desk staff wore constant smiles and were warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home. My requests for a non-smoking room on a high floor were fully met by the hotel 👍🌹 From the perspective of a former hospitality industry professional, the hotel lobby is very grand, and the overall hardware is excellent. The warm-toned lighting in the hallways, elevators, and rooms creates a pleasant and cheerful vibe, unlike some hotels that feel as dim and oppressive as fireflies. This is definitely something other hotels in the industry should learn from. The carpets in the hallways and rooms are thick and soft, the room layout is practical, the pillows and mattress offer a great balance of firmness, and the linens are thick and soft. The overall stay experience was exceptional. The hotel pays great attention to detail, and two major highlights deserve a special shout-out: first, the mobile phone charging cables provided in the room; second, the disposable toilet seat covers in the bathroom (though I didn't use them, the hotel's attention to detail is truly impressive). It is no exaggeration to say that these two features alone surpass more than 85% of hotels 👍🌹 The hotel restaurant is huge, spacious, bright, and warmly lit. Window seats allow guests to enjoy street views while dining. Except for the first day when I missed breakfast for personal reasons, the hotel's breakfast offers a rich variety of both Chinese and Western options, living up to its reputation. The food is not only replenished promptly, but the menu also changes daily to avoid repetition. The hotel could easily capitalize on this and position itself as a top culinary destination in Beijing to boost its market competitiveness. There are "Take what you need, but take small amounts" reminder signs on the tables, which is fantastic. I would suggest printing this on the reverse side: "Every single grain of rice reminds us of the toil behind it; every thread of silk makes us mindful of the difficulty in making it." This is because some guests like to put on a show and pile their plates high like a mountain—often taking multiple plates—only to leave a lot of uneaten food behind and walk away. If I had to point out a flaw, it would be that the hotel still uses miniature bottled toiletries. This feels a bit out of touch with the current mainstream trend of large-capacity dispensers. Furthermore, small bottles are inconvenient to use, especially the conditioner, which is hard to squeeze out. Also, leftovers in small bottles easily lead to waste unless they are refilled. Recommendation: It would be much better to switch to large-sized dispenser bottles. In conclusion, the hotel's overall rating is well-deserved and fitting. I would gladly recommend it to family and friends visiting Beijing.

The hotel facilities are excellent. It's about 700 meters from the subway station, making getting around quite convenient, and the service is warm and attentive.

The hotel has a great location, right near Beijing South Railway Station. It only takes about 6 minutes by taxi to the station, and it's also very close to the subway station, about a 10-minute walk. There is a Ziguangyuan restaurant right next to the hotel with delicious food, as well as a small breakfast shop. Since we were out early and back late during our National Day trip to Beijing, we didn't try the hotel breakfast and just grabbed quick bites at the small breakfast shop instead. The hotel room is relatively spacious, clean, and tidy. We stayed in room 1822; the soundproofing is a bit poor as you can hear people talking next to the room, and there's not much you can do if you encounter inconsiderate guests making noise in the middle of the night.

The breakfast was good, and the environment was better than expected. The hotel even provided disposable toilet seat covers.

The service was great, but there weren't enough washing machines in the laundry room, and they didn't offer laundry service or delivery.

The room was great, spacious and new. The hotel is about a ten-minute walk from the subway station, which makes getting around very convenient. The front desk staff saw that I was checking in with two children and kindly upgraded our room and gave us breakfast vouchers. The hotel breakfast offered a rich variety of choices. I'd especially like to thank the restaurant staff. We went for breakfast at 9:45 AM, even though it was already past 9:30 AM and they had started clearing up. The staff were very warm and didn't refuse us. They even brought us a lot of bread, pastries, soy milk, and bacon and sausages that the kids love. This made us feel the warmth and hospitality of the people of the capital on our first visit to Beijing. It was a memorable stay, and we will definitely choose this hotel again next time we come to Beijing, and we'll recommend it to others.

The hotel initially assigned room 1908, but the door wouldn't close properly and kept rattling, so I promptly switched to the 23rd floor. Room 2322 didn't have a sofa, but the expansive view seemed to make up for that flaw. The sunrise in the morning was incredibly beautiful. The nearby school's sports field was spacious and quiet.
