The Great Northern Classic Rodeo (GNCR) is proud to announce its 32nd year of bringing the thrilling sport of rodeo to the Northland. As a non-profit, all-volunteer organization, the GNCR has been entertaining families and raising money for local clubs and charities since 1991. Originally hosted in Duluth, Minnesota, the rodeo moved to its current home at the Head of the Lakes Fairgrounds in Superior, Wisconsin, two years later. With over 4,500 spectators per performance, the GNCR has become a beloved event in the community. From action-packed fun for the whole family to supporting important causes, the rodeo offers something for everyone. The GNCR has donated to various organizations over the years, including North Country Ride, local 4-H clubs, Boys and Girls Clubs of Superior, and Horse Spirit. They also take part in the Rockin' the Bronc campaign, raising funds for the local Breast Cancer Fund. The GNCR goes above and beyond to make sure everyone can enjoy the rodeo experience. They host an indoor miracle rodeo on Sunday mornings, catering to individuals of all ages with physical or developmental disabilities. This special event includes barrel racing with stick horses, a meet and greet with the rodeo clown, and other fun activities arranged by the GNCR drill team. All participants receive food and fantastic prizes. In addition to the rodeo performances, the GNCR organizes a range of family-friendly events, such as the NBHA-06 Barrel Run for Western Wishes, Cowboy Open Classic Golf Tournament, 5k walk-run, craft show, and on-site rodeo dance/concert. The rodeo performances start at 7 pm on Friday and Saturday, with the final performance taking place at 2 pm on Sunday. Younger attendees can also enjoy activities like mutton busting, the watermelon crawl, and calf scramble. The GNCR has a track record of excellence, hiring renowned personnel to contribute to their events. Welcome to the GLBC Inaugural Golf Tournament, a day full of camaraderie, excitement, and indulgence. We invite you to join us at the prestigious TPC Sugarloaf Country Club in Duluth, GA, on October 19, 2023, for an unforgettable experience. The schedule for the day is as follows: - 8:00 AM: Registration - 8:30 AM: Breakfast - 9:00 AM: Warm-Up - 10:00 AM: Shotgun Start - 12:30 PM: Lunch - 3:00 PM: Post Tournament Reception - 4:00 PM: Awards Ceremony We have a few important details to share with you: 1. GLBC members who have paid their dues will enjoy complimentary golf. Non-members and guests are required to purchase tickets to participate. 2. Local elected officials are granted complimentary access to the tournament. However, their guests are required to purchase tickets. 3. Each golf team will have the privilege of being paired with a legislator, elected official, or other esteemed dignitary. 4. Individual golfers will be matched with each other to form teams, and then assigned a legislator, elected official, or dignitary.
