invites you to explore the art of close-up photography — where light, texture, and precision come together to transform everyday subjects into striking visual stories.
Guided by experienced macro photographer
Stewart Wood
, you’ll learn how to confidently approach macro shooting — from mastering key camera settings to working with light and achieving sharp, intentional focus. Through practical, hands-on shooting, you’ll experiment with composition, depth, and perspective to elevate your images beyond simple close-ups.
Throughout the session, you’ll have the opportunity to create using
Sony Alpha cameras and lenses
, designed to support precision and creative control in macro photography (subject to availability).
Whether you’re new to macro or looking to refine your technique, this workshop is designed to help you
see differently, shoot with intention, and capture detail in a way that feels both creative and impactful.

From Stafford: Take the A513 towards Rugeley/Lichfield. After ~7 miles, turn left at the second mini roundabout (Wolseley Garden Centre), then take the slip road on the right through the gate.
From Rugeley: Take the A51 towards Stafford. After ~1.5 miles, turn right at the mini roundabout and follow the same route.
Continue ~300m to the Centre car park.
