Tag Tri is back- bigger and better than before! After a successful first event, we're excited to be hosting the second Tag Triathlon in aid of Pancreatic Cancer UK. Not only was our first event great fun, we raised over £8000 for Pancreatic Cancer UK in memory of our loved ones. So let's do it again! This is a half-Olympic Distance Triathlon (750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run), designed with families in mind. Each event has a dedicated start time and you can take part in some or all events as you wish. This is non-competitive....or that's what we keep trying to tell Ken (co-organiser!)- but promises to be a fun event for all abilities. Derby Dolls Junior Derby Camp is for girls, transgender and gender nonconforming youth ages 7-17 and for skill levels Novice to Intermediate - skaters must be able to skate/roll on their own, unassisted. Camp is designed to teach the fundamentals of roller derby to newer skaters and not intended for higher level junior roller derby skaters. If you have a question about your skater's level, please reach out to us at jrderby@derbydolls.com. Campers will be divided by skill level and will be in classes designed to both challenge and empower them. In addition to skating classes, campers will participate in various off-skates training and activities. We'll be having an all-day Linoprinting workshop on 17th of May inside the awesome Long Eaton Art Room! Using references and designs, Marcus will be at hand to guide you with creating your very own hand-printed Linocut designs, you are very welcome to bring alongside pictures of your beloved pets, or any other references you'd like to create from! I'll also be at hand to fetch you teas, biscuits and little snacks as you may get hungry when crafting! You are also welcome to bring a lunch with you as well if you'd prefer. Lauren runs our monthly Creative Writing Group for people with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) / Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder (EUPD). The group offers a chance for like-minded people to gather in a safe environment, socialise and have fun, whilst gaining experience and confidence in using creative writing as a tool for escapism, self-expression. These free sessions include games, exercises, discussion etc. Anyone who is over 18 and has a diagnosis of BPD/EUPD is very welcome to come along to our writing group - you really don't need any previous writing experience or talent - it's more about just expressing yourself and having fun! (Please note that our groups are not therapy groups to explore difficulties, but rather a space to focus on positive elements of ourselves and our lives). We know it can be scary coming to a new group, but everyone is really lovely and will make you feel welcome. Let Me In Presents are back, returning for a UK Cathedral Tour, this Autumn, of their brand new production - An Evening of Pink Floyd - following their sell-out, acclaimed tour of An Evening of Radiohead. It promises to be a spectacular live show featuring a full live band, vocalists and a string & brass ensemble, performing in some of the most breathtaking buildings in the UK. Witness the iconic sound of Pink Floyd's vast and ethereal catalogue of music, performed live by the acclaimed Let Me In House Band, alongside the Mike Nowland String and Brass Ensemble - featuring a total of 18 musicians, embodying the timeless songs of one of the most popular artists of all time. Expect to hear hits and hidden gems from across their discography, with a particular focus on the inimitable run of records from the 1970s, including Dark Side of The Moon, Wish You Were Here and The Wall.
