Ind Day 1 - Get into Film with The Mark Milsome Foundation This special session shines a spotlight on the Mark Milsome Foundation and its role in nurturing emerging talent behind the camera. Producer Zara Trott and DIT Jake Bentley (recent grant recipients) will present 1–2 short works and share their experiences breaking into the film industry. They’ll discuss the challenges faced after graduation and the strategies that helped them gain a foothold. The Mark Milsome Foundation was created in memory of camera operator Mark Milsome , who tragically died during a stunt shoot in 2017. The charity promotes safer working practices on film sets, offers training, and supports new filmmakers through grants, mentorship, and access to industry pathways. Jules Maxwell returns to the Octagon Chapel for a special Autumn Festival commissioned concert. Jules will perform songs from his album Songs From The Cultural Backwater and instrumentals from his two ambient albums Nocturnes and Cycles, aswell as new songs specially composed for this concert. He will be joined by special guests including his friend and guitarist Stephen Jones who has worked with Brian Eno, Air and Bryan Ferry. Walk between the past and present on a sensory City adventure. Meet at St Peter's Church (Hungate Medieval Art) on Princes Street, to explore a pop-up exhibition and digital interactions that introduce you to the world of the Pastons. Then talk and walk with John Paston III and Margery Brews Paston (who wrote the earliest known Valentine's letter). Tales of passion, protest and plague come to life with interactive puzzles and challenges. The walk ends with quiet contemplation, with the Cathedral labyrinth. All ages welcome. Family ravers! Following another amazing event at Epic Studios the original family rave returns for a ' space is the place ' family rave The godfather of rave Slipmatt will be playing (grown up) tunes to the family ravers. Expect House-rave-club classics. The event will also feature themed crafts, Snow machine, giant balloons, glitter cannons, bubble machine, club lighting (no strobes), giant mural. and the BFLF famous parachute dance. Theme - Space is the place - Fancy dress optional (but encouraged.) Family fun for the post-rave generation of parents. Helping parents be responsibly irresponsible since 2013. This session is suitable for athletes aged 5-16. This is for Brave members only who are looking to progress and improve their sheets. No show and tell. We will open the door at the start time of the event. We ask that you bring water in a named bottle, all jewellery is removed or taped up, hair is out of the face in a style that will last the duration of the session, you wear comfortable, sporting clothes along with bare feet or cheer shoes. Brave apparel can be bought from our on site pro shop, but neither the apparel or cheer shoes are compulsory. Our 'Cheer Shoe Recommendation' document can be found on the homepage of our website. We recommend outdoor shoes that can be slipped on and off rather than lace up shoes to avoid congestion. Please ensure ALL items brought to Brave are clearly named, any lost property that is not named is disposed of at the end of each night. Due to the positive and relaxed culture at Brave, we implement a closed session policy. We find this helps participants to feel at ease and confident to step outside their comfort zone to progress. If you require any feedback on your child's progress or have any questions please speak to the person on the front desk. Please use the parking bays provided to the side and back of the premises, depending on the time of day there may also be roadside parking. Social Enterprise Day Showcase 2025 is a celebration of the amazing social enterprises in Norfolk, hosted by FUSE Network in partnership with Norwich Unity Hub. This is your chance to showcase the fantastic work you’re doing as a social enterprise to the public for a day of connection, collaboration, and celebrate our positive impact! We’ll be welcoming: Local residents Public sector partners Funders and supporters VCSE organisations from across Norfolk This is a great opportunity to share your products and services, connect with new customers and collaborators, attract funding or referrals, and raise the profile of your work. Plan for the day: 9am: Set up Arrive to prepare your stand and get ready to welcome guests. 10am–2pm: Open to the public Guests will sign in at reception and collect a map. This will take them on a route around Carrow House to meet participating organisations at their spaces. The route finishes in Old Carrow House, where your stall will be placed alongside other social enterprises! 2pm–3pm – Drinks reception and networking All participating social enterprises are invited to join us for informal networking and a celebratory toast to the sector’s impact. Who is this event for? This day is designed to celebrate and showcase social enterprises. By social enterprise, we mean organisations that: Have a clear social or environmental purpose at the heart of what you do Are registered with an appropriate regulator (for example, Companies House or the Charity Commission) Reinvest the majority of your profits to further your mission, and have an asset lock in place Earn income through trading. This could be by selling products, tickets or services to the public, delivering commissioned services for public sector partners, or trading with other social enterprises, charities, organisations or businesses. This includes trading charities as social enterprises can take a range of legal forms. For example, you might be a CIC, CIO, charity, charitable company limited by guarantee, co-operative, or other structure that supports this model.
