The observatory guesthouse is in an absolutely fantastic location. We were able to walk to and fro the Brewery for dinner as well as the waterfront and of course the famous Busselton jetty. This is our 2nd stay here and each time in the Family Room for 5. This year we were given a 'better' room as there were proper beds for 5 but only 4 of us made the trip. This room however, seemed slightly smaller than the other. Last year, my daughter joined us and the 5th person had to sleep on a sofa bed. Nevertheless, the rates are very reasonable for a family of 5 whereby a fridge, microwave and cutlery/crockery are provided. Walkable distance to the jetty for us too. Owner is flexible and accommodating. If nobody is wanting your room, he allows late check-outs. Will come back again next year !From$81

First time staying at the ship inn, please be aware that they take money out of your credit card 24 hours before you arrive but they say it’s in their terms and conditions! Well it’s not on your confirmation email does not state that at all! During this pandemic I have never come across a hotel that takes your money before you arrive, we have travelled a state of W.A. for the last year when the borders are open and I believe all hotels take the payment when you arrive due to the fact if the borders get closed it’s too messy to do all the refunds. Secondly the rooms are self-contained a very nice apartments but the downfall is because it’s right next door to the pub you get the young ones about 11:30 pm to about 1:30 pm yelling fighting in the car park on a Friday Saturday night so make sure you request a room away from the car park, they should’ve put double glaze windows in and insolation in the walls I would never recommend anybody to stay here on a Friday or Saturday night. Food of the restaurant was nice and not too expensive the service well not as good as what I expected, I ordered a house red 250 mil glass I handed a $20 note over she handed me six dollars back after I realised the next day that that was a very expensive glass of house red. Check out is at 10 but they cut the internet off at 8 am ! House keeping came on the Saturday and they didn’t do a thing no making of beds, no filling up of milk, no fresh towels nothing! I think the staff need to be trained a bit they don’t seem to care about their customers when I checked in it was just like I will that’s our terms and conditions it’s not your terms and conditions it’s not written in a confirmation email we are in a pandemic everywhere do not take anything out of your credit card and to you arrive otherwise there’s a lot of credits going back into peoples accounts which can take up to months as we’ve seen with travel agents and airlines. Would I stay here again would I recommend it the answer is no even though the location was perfect they just don’t seem to have that nice friendly touch or even care it’s all about the $$$$$ I have sent off two emails on Friday to 2 different email addresses and by Sunday I still not had an answer to my emails not very good customer service, so my advice would be to think very hard about staying here.SOLD OUT

My friends and I rented all 8 apartments for a week for my low key birthday celebrations with our children earlier this month. Kids ages ranged from 8months to 14years old. Premalaya exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be returning soon. The communal area was so homely and perfect to gather around the 2 fireplaces for meals. The noise could not be heard in the apartments from the communal area which was perfect for our sleeping babies. The reception for our baby monitors was hit and miss in the communal area so we put the volume up high and placed the monitors as close to the communal area as we could - it worked well in the end and I was confident our bubs were safe and sleeping soundly. It had a farmstay feel with horses and sheep freely roaming. There’s a dam on the property which I was concerned about prior to my visit but we had no issues as our kids gravitated to playing on the other side of the building where the basket ball hoop is. Plus the dam is easily seen from the communal area so it made it very easy to keep an eye on things. Iona and Hayley promptly and professionally dealt with all my groups admin concerns prior to check in which made our entire experience smooth and simple. Hayley and her family are so welcoming and just lovely people in general. Their kids made our kids feel at home straight away and they were all playing on their trampoline within a minutes of check in. I would love to come back to experience the other side of Premalaya, being a health & wellness retreat. It definitely had a calming effect on everyone despite our groups purpose being more of a large catch up rather than a peaceful escape! Well done Hayley and team on creating a venue filled with such love and care. Your attention to detail was much appreciated.SOLD OUT

From the moment I walked in the door to check in I was taken back by the share beauty of this resort. The stunning views from the restaurant while eating breakfast and dinner daily. Food was impeccable. But the most favourite part was being greeted, serviced by the beautiful smiling faces of the Fijian staff. I felt we were back in Fiji. Sally at Reception and Selita in the restaurant you two ladies went above and beyond. I truely hope I get to meet you again on our next stay. I normally find something to criticise in every place I stay, but at the end of 5 nights, couldn’t find a single thing wrong. The two-bedroom apartment was fantastic, a large shared living space with two separate large bedrooms. The beds were huge, with two king singles joined together, firm but very comfortable. A large spa bath in each bedroom, a decent-sized shower with reasonable hot water flow. A long balcony, complete with table and chairs, that overlooked a great lawn and garden area, and since we were on the top floor, views down the valley. The two-bed apartment has a full-sized fridge and sufficient food-prep and cooking arrangements, but with Caves House next door and a great Italian restaurant down the road, why bother? The staff were very polite and helpful, and helpfully recommended using the lift for initial access for our luggage. Would definitely stay here again when in the area. I have stayed in many places in the cape-to-cape region over the years, and this is the best so far.SOLD OUT

The motel on the whole is on the older side but did not disappoint. The rooms are spacious and clean. Kettle, toaster, crockery and cutlery supplied if you decide to bring a meal home. Beds very comfortable, although somehow the staff forgot to make one of them one day. My only issue was when people were smoking outside the rooms it wafted in under the door. If you are in the room in the corner of the corridor noise travels down the corridor. Can be quite noisy at times. Close to town centre. Would stay here again.SOLD OUT

This hotel is in a residential area, very quiet and offshore. You can smell a good fragrance when you walk into the door. The whole decoration is very classical and exquisite. It can be seen that the owner has used a lot of thought in it. The mattress and pillows here are very comfortable, the spa bathtub is huge and very clean.From$104

Jacaranda Guest House is a very old house that has been converted into several rooms and out buildings. Quite old fashioned, but comfortable. Husband and I stayed in the old house, two joined bedrooms with an ensuite. Double bed (I’m 170cm so just fitted) and a single bed with a big bathroom. Set well off the street behind a lovely garden there was no road noise. Very quiet in the house, so much so that we could hear the other guests speaking in the dining room at breakfast and room next door. Not really a problem as we were out most of the time and up early anyway. Off street parking in the wide driveway. Breakfast was included and there was plenty. Three kinds of toast, several spreads, fruit, cereal, coffee, tea and yoghurt. A guest kitchen with fridge and a sink supplied with tea, coffee and snacks anytime. There was a tv in a shared lounge with rather old but clean sofas. I understand the place has been sold. No idea what new management will do but it suited our needs being very close to the event space for Busso100.SOLD OUT

We have stayed in big 4 parks a lot and this one is absolutely fantastic. Staff are really friendly and facilities are great. Camp kitchen has oven along with all the regular items. Big pool and stuff to do for kids. Caravan sites are spacious and flat. We loved it here.From$96

”Stayed” there yesterday. Checked in right on time, met the cleaner, who was very nice. Parking was quite confusing, as I needed to get a garage door opener from inside, but it all worked as it should. This is a typical, nice Australian house that's been converted to a small hotel. First impressions were great. It all looked really nice. Bed was too soft was the only downside I could find. I then set off for the day to explore. I got back at 8:30pm, pizza in hand, looking forward to a quiet, cozy night before a big day and an important international meeting the next morning. Greeted by a large group of people who had taken over the house. Mind you, this is an adults only place, which I usually interpret to be quiet, especially given the good reviews and luxurious feel. I think it probably usually works out, but unluckily for me, it didn't yesterday. I'd just returned from swimming and was looking forward to unwinding. Instead, this large foreign group was cooking smelly food in the main kitchen, loudly gathering and drinking vodka from massive bottles, and had turned the thermostats up to 28 (!!!) degrees. It was literally 33 degrees outside a few hours earlier. I live in one of the coldest regions on earth and have never set my thermostat past 24. It was an absolute sauna in here. They asked if I wanted to join them to drink, I politely declined, went to my room, ate my pizza, took a shower, and got ready for bed. Quiet hours are posted as 10pm, so I patiently waited until then, though had packed my bags ready to go. Reflecting back, I think they likely thought they'd booked out the whole house. That's the best way I can interpret this. I was traveling solo, and this was a large group. NOBODY from the property is onsite to assist. They leave a phone number to contact if issues, but I couldn't call with my international sim. They brag about their high ranking and ”as seen on TV”. With all this bravado, one would think they'd leave a way for international guests to contact them. I tried through **********, i tried through the Baudin website contact form, I emailed multiple times, and I added their number to whatsapp (where they had an active account) and messaged multiple times. I also asked the large group to stop, but they didn't. I'm not going to escalate that further whilst alone in a foreign country. I'm also not paying for a 4 star hotel to be a babysitter, security guard, or parent. Why would this hotel allow a large group to book every room in the property but 1 - the main master suite? Ridiculous. I ended up leaving shortly after 10pm and tried every property in Busselton AND Bunbury (45mins away). All were closed with no human contact. I then ended up driving 3 hours north to Perth through the pitch black with bad eyesight, and going to multiple hotels before finding one for 300/night - where I'm currently writing this review. I got a casual email from the property this morning around 9am basically saying Oops, we didn't get a message frFrom$90

The location of the hotel is excellent. There are swimming pools, tennis courts, beach volleyball courts, children's playgrounds and other sports facilities. The back door of the hotel leads directly to the beach with a pleasant view. Driving from the hotel to supermarkets, shopping malls, McDonald's is very close. It is only an eleven-minute drive from the famous Busselton Trestle Bridge. Guests traveling with children are very suitable to stay in this hotel.From$82

Located in Broadwater in Busselton. A very nice entrance and multiple resort style units. 1 min walk to the beach and a fantastic place to swim or bike across the sea. The unit we had was a massive two bedroom and two bathroom with a kitchen with all the facilities. Car park was in front of the building, however you do need to take stairs to the second level (no lift) In short, a very nice place, but outdated. We have visited this place in winter, and it was a bit cold. (One air con fro the whole floor is available). Overall was a good experience. Nice checkin staff, nice atmosphere and comfortable room.From$121

This place is AWESOME. We had a grove house with plunge pool. Main living area has reverse cycle air conditioning and gas fire. Each of the main rooms has ensuite with shower and bath. They also have TV and reverse cycle aircon. Kitchen has full size fridge, microwave, oven, dishwasher and Nespresso coffee machine. Linen and room make ups are only done for you if you’re there for seven nights or more. Staff are super friendly and do almost anything for you.SOLD OUT

This property is going through an ongoing refurbishment, our experience was tradespeople, building rubble & noise. We were given a “so called” refurbished unit. The floorcoverings & some curtains look new with selections made resulting in the interior looking like a Chalet in a Caravan Park. No update to any of the deteriorating cabinets in the kitchen. The blinds not replaced are old corroded fittings and difficult to operate. Old outdated outdoor furniture. There has been NO replacement of large or small appliances or bedding. The kitchen equipment is very limited. There is seating in the living area for 3 people in a unit described as for 6 people. The seating is not opposite the old TV that does not swivel. The fridge is very undersized for a 6 person unit. The bathroom newly install shower takes up Half the small bathroom area, no place around the hand basin for putting things & no bathroom storage, hanging rail for one bath towel, again in a unit for 6 people. It is necessary to keep the door open to have sufficient space to dry oneself. Very noisy from road traffic. Noisy inefficient heating/air conditioner. The property WiFi does not work, we had to use our mobile data during our stay. The only TV that works in the free to air, the screen goes black at times from connection interruptions. Some free to air channels are not tuned in therefore, not available. The movie selection is very old and painfully slow to react. Maintenance was not able to rectify the WiFi & TV issues during ourweek stay. The restaurant is open 5 evenings a week, NOT breakfast or lunch and has a very limited menu, basic & expensive. Could not recommend, plenty of other options in the area.SOLD OUT

From the moment I walked in the door to check in I was taken back by the share beauty of this resort. The stunning views from the restaurant while eating breakfast and dinner daily. Food was impeccable. But the most favourite part was being greeted, serviced by the beautiful smiling faces of the Fijian staff. I felt we were back in Fiji. Sally at Reception and Selita in the restaurant you two ladies went above and beyond. I truely hope I get to meet you again on our next stay. The Fijian Porter who drove us home nightly after dinner you were amazing. Bula to you all being away from your families and country and still giving 110%. This turned out to be a nice surprise. We booked at the last minute because our other accommodation was cancelled at the last minute. We enjoyed the 1 bedroom beach apartment! Even though we didn’t have a beach view, it felt very private and was so close to the beach that we walked there barefoot many times. We enjoyed beach walks and swims. The apartment was perfect for cooking our own meals, so even though the accommodation is rather pricy, we could offset that by self catering. We had breakfast included in our deal and that was delicious.From$420

The observatory guesthouse is in an absolutely fantastic location. We were able to walk to and fro the Brewery for dinner as well as the waterfront and of course the famous Busselton jetty. The price was including continental breakfast and the place was sparkling clean. There were lots of extras making a special touch. Easy checkin and checkout. This is our 2nd stay here and each time in the Family Room for 5. This year we were given a 'better' room as there were proper beds for 5 but only 4 of us made the trip. This room however, seemed slightly smaller than the other. Last year, my daughter joined us and the 5th person had to sleep on a sofa bed. Nevertheless, the rates are very reasonable for a family of 5 whereby a fridge, microwave and cutlery/crockery are provided. Walkable distance to the jetty for us too. Owner is flexible and accommodating. If nobody is wanting your room, he allows late check-outs. Will come back again next year !From$81

We enjoyed a mid week stay at the new Hilton. I booked a great rate stay on their website. Peak location. We were given a very nice room with a wonderful view facing the jetty. The staff at the Hilton are all happy and friendly. No request is too much trouble. The room was well appointed. Well designed bathroom. Nice window seating to enjoy the view. Very comfortable. Breakfast buffet is superb. The chefs produce wonderful fresh food. We ate in the evenings in the hotel restaurant. Don't go outside and have a cheap and cheerful meal. Enjoy the brilliant food at the Hilton at a very reasonable price for the top quality produce. I had a wonderful aged steak with saddleback potatoes, greens, mushroom ragout to die for accompanied by a delicious peppercorn sauce. Amazing! Stay here!!! Pool, cocktail bar, brilliant food. |0.51km from city centerQuiet and secluded location in forest, very private and peaceful. We booked the 2 bedroom chalet for 3 nights. Nearest town is about 6-8mins drive away, not too far, but the drive is a tad scary in the dark (which is quite early this time of year). Very roomy, lots of space, well equipped kitchen, though there were no basics (such as oil/salt/pepper), though there was a small pack of milk provided. Coffee powder provided, but no coffee press. Very strong stable wifi , no password needed, which was awesome. You can login to your netflix account on the smart tv. Washing machine is outside in a separate room, which is not very convenient to get to in the winter cold (and at night). No dryer, so need to wrangle with the clothes line and there's very few clothes pegs provided. Need to clear trash which you need to drive out to, not very convenient. There's a pool and small playground (with a trampoline) Overall, we loved the stay, for its privacy and closeness to nature, but be prepared with food/amenities else you'd be stuck in the middle of nowhere. Bar soap, shampoo, conditioner provided, and there's a bathtub. Toilet is separate from the bathroom, which is good. Strong heating from the main heater in the living room, which was a nice surprise We saw kangaroos (regularly at a clearing on the drive out), a bunny once when we first arrived, and had frequent visits from a kookaburra, which was lovely.
