The hotel staff were very friendly & very attentive, which was lovely. I was upgraded to a suite, which was nice to have a lot of space. The shower pressure was great and the room & bathroom was very clean. The bed was very lumpy/had a dip in it, so unfortunately, wasn't the best night's sleep and I woke up with a bad back, but this may have just been the room I was in. The breakfast in the morning was average compared to other breakfast buffet's I have had in hotels recently but the atmosphere was very chilled. For a one night stay, the hotel did the job.

The cleanliness of the hotel deteriorated, and the furniture and fixtures were also torn and worn out. The water closet had dirts inside on thd day when we arrived. The dirts still attached to the water closet when we left. The mattress was not In good condition, it was not flat but like a shallow basin in the middle. The bed also had problem. When you sleep on it and want to change your position and turn to the other side, the wooden part of the bed shook and create a big ”eat. eat, eat” sound. The room door of all the rooms on the fifth floor were with problem, in order to close it properly. You have to close the door with severe force and result in a big ”bang, bang” sound. This is extremely disturbing to other guests especially when this happened when they were sleeping. The hotel is old and fully utilized during the past years, it needs instant maintenance and upgrading.

The location is very good - a short walk from train station Food: I had breakfast included in my package but I am NOT very happy with the choices in the SMALL buffet they presented. Very limited choices, waste of money . Rooms: the rooms are very SMALL and not expected for this hotel brand. Apparently I was confused with the word FLEX , which is a budget standard hotel. They charge £2.50 for dental kit… what a joke! Reception staff: Friendly staff and welcoming- no problem there. Missing basic amenities, which does NOT really cost them a lot, leaves negative impression on the hotel. Overall impression: Not very happy and wound NOT recommend if you are looking for decent stay with luxury, bearing in mind, the prices i was charged are NOT cheap…

Booked a room away from the lift. Gave us a room next to the lift. Went down to see ifcwe could get it changed as we wanted a quiet room On check in we requested this so obviously next to the lift facing the stack is not a quiet room. Next room was directly above the hotels air conditioning unit gave up as obviously the receptionist was having a serious customer service melt down especially when we went out 10 minutes later and she called over ..is that room OK for you? Obviously not as the air conditioning unit screamed all night long we just said yes as what was the best room going to be ?? Certainly will not be back thanks to the totally piss taking receptionist

I can understand the lack of amenities in the hotel for example no kettle, coffee or tea bags in the room, no toilet for customers who are waiting but not for the receptionist. Whenever I have a business meeting with my bf in Newcastle, he always books this one as the location is perfect but for several of time I have the same problem and unpleasantness with the receptionist. Her name is Shahib or something starts with Sha I can't see clearly. But when the first we step in, no welcoming, just a rude attitude look at me, I come over and ask kindly hi we came for checking in (it 12:00pm at that time), she says ok and ask do you have booking early I said no, then she stop talking look at me was like ok if you don't book check in early then why you here bother me, and I have to say ok so it 3pm, I understand. She can even say checking in at 3 so you will have to wait. Then we sit there and wait, she and her coworkers are laughing, talking loudly. Then I am not happy, my bf goes inside and asks to cancel the booking, she says ok if you cancel you still get charged, my bf was upset. Then I ask very gently Do we have the toilet for customers here while we wait, she just says no and that it. After that she let us check in early again with the boss and owning the whole Newcastle attitude. Then I was not about to take it personal and put on review but the day we checked out, I took the key, politely went to the receptionist and said ”Hi, I would like to...” She doesn't even look at me or let me complete the word she looks in her phone saying thank you out loud just to get me to put the key and go quick. I stayed in this hotel 5 times and exactly 5 times felt unpleasant with customer service here. This hotel is fine, but the most simple thing for the hotel business and the most priorities is customer experience but you do not do well which made some of my trip uncomfortable. I am nobody to judge how is anyone's attitude but at least done the work as it should be. Other than that hotel was clean, tidy and the bed was really comfy.

It wasn't the best of experiences and I believe had we addressed some of the issues we came across sooner, things would have been different. There was a poignant smell in our bathroom and in all fairness we should have mentioned it sooner rather than expecting it to disappear on its own. When we did address it, we were moved into a different room instantly. The rooms could do with a bit more cleaning when it came to dust and hair in various areas. Will still recommend it.

The first room I was given had a weird acrylic smell, which turned out to be due to a new bathroom being fitted, but the receptionist was great and got me another room just a few doors down so I didn’t have to move far. It was clean, quiet and had all amenities I needed. Ideal for a stay close to the airport!
