Siargao is an island in the shape of a teardrop in the province of Surigao del Norte in the Philippine Sea. The coastline is streaked with a progression of reefs, small peninsulas, and white, sandy beaches. The island derives its name from the word “siargaw” from the Visayan language which is the name of a mangrove species that grows on the islands. Getting to Siargao
