The main reason to stay here is the location. It is on a beautiful beach. However there was a lot of noise and a lot of ants. There was dog poo outside our door for two days and the staff didn't clean it even though they walked past it. The wifi wasn't great. There were no toiletries and no hair dryer. There are no mosquito nets on the windows so we had to keep them closed. There was no water the first day we arrived and the staff did not inform us. They were definitely not sufficiently apologetic about the fact that we couldn't have a shower after traveling all day and then having to listen to the staff have a party while we were trying to sleep.SOLD OUT

The restaurant service is good, but the food was underwhelming—breakfasts were quite basic. Only a few dishes on the menu were tasty; the rest need improvement. They should really revamp their offerings.
The rooms are spotless, and housekeeping does an excellent job. The pool looks beautiful and well-maintained, but there’s an issue with unpleasant odors from the port, which sometimes makes swimming less appealing. We are a family of 6 so we need to book 2 rooms. Their rooms can only fit 2 pax. The 2 kids are free, the additional payment we made is for the breakfast only. The ac unit of other room needs a repair or replacement because it can't serve its purpose. I think the room is newly painted that is why the woodstain smells around the room. But the room itself has a superb ambiance. They have nice gym equipment. The pool is relaxing because it surrounded with trees, the kids enjoyed it, it fits for a single group only. We had the most amazing stay at Mahogany Resort. It’s in such a stunning spot, and the pool is nice and refreshing with a beautiful view to the sea. Great spot for a sunset. The food was the best we have had in El Nido. We had dinner at their restaurant by the beach and the food was faultless, with impeccable service. In the morning we had their special Mahogany Wrap (I can’t recall the name) and it was delicious. We didn’t want to leave. Would definitely come back next time we visit El Nido. everything is good in this place! the villa is cool, comfortable! the staff is incredibly friendly, thank you very much!
but I will dwell on the location in more detail. firstly, it is located 30 minutes away from the El Nido pier itself (a strategic point, because we are all planning to travel around the national park by boat), and God bless it, but a kilometer before the hotel the road simply ends. secondly, the beach is beautiful and uncrowded (a bonus for the remoteness), but Nik-Nik (sand mite) lives there, fortunately we were warned about this right away at the hotel, in general, you can’t go anywhere without a repellent.

Our family really enjoyed our stay at Huni Lio. We stayed in the family room. You can comfortably sleep 4 to 6 if you use the sofa.
The crew really took care of us.
Lio is a nice relaxed respite from the back packer hustle and bustle of Elnido. Dining choices are so tasty. The beach is beautiful. Watch out for big waves and sandflies/ nikniks - cover up, pack antihistamines and insect repellants.
Just a few helpful tips and feedback:
1. Improve the brewed coffee that comes with breakfast or waive the charges to serve the coffee from the expresso machine.
2. The laundry and swimmers hanging in balconies facing the mangrove forest won’t dry even after 5 days leaving a stank so bad. We moved our rack indoors to dry in front of the AC.
3. There’s a constart hum and vibration at the end of the room, last bed. Light sleepers should avoid this bed.
Finally wish there was a second bathroom lol but overall the waiting and jesting is part of the wholesome family fun.FromMXN2,521

This is a brand new villa like hotel with your own private garden and a beautiful communal area consisting of a nice swimming pool and hot tub. It is the best place I have stayed at in Port Barton, and it continues to expand creating more and more villas. Pros:
Our stay at Piece Lio was decent overall. The aesthetics matched the pictures online, and the studio was spacious with a lovely balcony view overlooking the rainforest. I really appreciated the Dyson hairdryer in the room, which made things much easier with long hair. The staff were friendly, polite, and kind, thank you guys!
Cons:
There were some small issues in the room, such as paint patches peeling off and small holes near the window shutters, which need attention, especially for a fairly new hotel.
The biggest disappointment was discovering that there is no gym or spa, even though both are listed in the hotel’s description. This may not be a big deal for everyone, but it was for us since we had planned our trip around maintaining our fitness and relaxation routine. Instead, guests are given access to facilities within the same hospitality group. The gym and spa are located offsite, about 15 minutes away in town. While the hotel provides free shuttle service to and from that location, the drive feels much longer than expected due to island roads. The gym is small with basic equipment, and the spa, called Rituals Health and Spa, felt old and in need of renovation.
Breakfast was average and not really to our liking. It was also inconvenient because most restaurants at Lio Beach do not open until around 10 a.m., leaving limited early morning options. We ended up eating at another nearby hotel restaurant, Molave, which was the only one open at that time. One of the staff members incorrectly told us there were other options available earlier, which suggests a need for better training and communication.
Another issue was with a pre-booked van ride to one of the beaches. We had confirmed it via WhatsApp, but when we went downstairs, the staff had no record of it. To their credit, they handled the situation professionally and offered us a free one-way ride to make up for the inconvenience.
Overall:
The staff were warm and helpful, but management needs to improve communication, training, and most importantly, the accuracy of the facilities listed online. It feels misleading to advertise a gym and spa that are not actually part of the hotel. The lack of an in-house restaurant was also inconvenient, especially when you want a quick meal without leaving the property.
If the hotel eventually adds its own spa and gym, it would be a much better experience. We did recommend it to friends for a short stay before their flight, but I would not suggest booking it if your priority is having fitness and spa facilities in one place. Overall, would return it they added the facilities!
P.S. there’s cats! I’m not a cats person so it was a little uncomfortable to have them downstairs in the lobby area .FromMXN5,030

Why it's Great:
• For Friends: The beds are so comfy, you'll feel like you're cheating on your actual bed. Great pool for that ”we're still talking business but mostly sunbathing” vibe.
• For Business Trips: Excellent Wi-Fi and work desks in the room, so you can pretend to be productive while secretly plotting your next island hop. The staff is so accommodating, they'd probably attend your conference call if you asked.

If you want to stay away from the hustle and bustle and find a paradise, this is the best choice  The whole butler service, any request will be answered in seconds. The hotel is very new and the facilities are very good. There are many lounges where you can relax and play mahjong in the lounge, and it is a high-end electronic mahjong table. Superb haha

We recently stayed at this resort hotel and overall had a pleasant experience. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the amenities—from the pool to the common areas—were impressive and well-maintained.
However, we were quite disappointed to return to our room after housekeeping had been in, only to find the door left open. This raised serious concerns about security and left us feeling uneasy. Thankfully, nothing was missing, but it’s something management should seriously look into.

But I did enjoy the solitude, perfect beach and included snorkeling, and double bed hut right on the sand with wifi! Food is better than average for Philippines. Not sure how they even get the food here or how they could have built such a nice place on a deserted island (20 min boat ride from Basuanga airport after short van xfer). A cheap simple accommodation option, we've got everything in the most, but if you're looking for comfort, you better choose options more expensive. The room is spacious, there is a bathroom, but everything is quite twisted, wouldn't mind a little upgrade. There was not enough shelves in the room and hooks in the bathroom, things had to be folded just on the floor. |10.23km from city centerWe have mixed feelings about our time at this hotel. The location is excellent with a beautiful swimming beach on your door step and breathtaking sunset views. It is worth informing the hotel before your arrival to arrange assistance especially if you have heavy luggage, as the hotel does not clearly indicate how to be accessed from the road and thus most guests access the hotel form the beach. This could mean a long walk along the sand. For backpackers this won't be a problem, but families or those who don't travel light will find this to be an inconvenience. We booked a sea view room with a double bed. We were given twin beds as no double beds were available, despite our booking being made 5 months in advance. They offered to move us into the correct room after two nights but informed us that there won't be any wifi available in the new room so we ended up staying in our original room. These are small problems, but it is worth noting as the staff did not handle the situation with the professionalism we are used to receiving from other hotels. The rooms are also only cleaned every second day. The breakfast was ice cold everyday and the worst out of all the hotel breakfasts we had during our stay in the Philippines. Still, the location of this hotel is ideal for spending days on the beach and the zip line is practically above the hotel so it could be worth staying here and having meals at one of the hotels next door. We can confidently say that we ate the best pizza next door.

Let me start with the bad parts. The facilities are too old. The bamboo room is not soundproof. The sea view is not vast and there are mountains around. There are many mosquitoes. The swimming pool is very small. There are many colorful lights installed in a very ”medieval” style. The attitude of the waiters is also a little inferior.
The good places are affordable! The food is not bad. The semi-buffet breakfast is delicious (the picture shows breakfast). There are many choices of international styles for dinner! At night, you can see flocks of birds returning to their nests at the sunset at the pier bar, which is very romantic!

|3.07km from city centerHotel is surprisingly great for its price! With just some few bucks to add vs the usual lodge/backpacker rates, you will get far superior amenities, room size and service as a whole. The hotel owner is the same with Zuri Resort by the bay, and the adjacent Westown Lagoon.
Staffs are friendly and accommodating. Hotel facade, pool and bar and restaraunt are also great. They got three or four pools. The rooms are okay, not as pleasant as the hotel facade but still are in good condition and still comfortable.
The only downside would be the location, its 5-6km away from the town proper - will take around 10mins via tuktuk/tricyle. Bfast buffet is just okay. Not a lot of choices but still good.
Overall, still a good experience for the price.

From the room you have direct access to the garden and the pool, a full immersion in Palawan beauty. An amazing Italian restaurant Giovanni’s with his great pizza and Lasagna was the cherry on the cake, if you are lucky you can meet the restaurant owner and listen to his stories of the worldwide tour and Max the owner who was very careful to our needs. Everything was clean and the staff were very quick to help if you needed something. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The food was delicious and they were able to make vegan for me. We walked down to the beach and back which I enjoyed because it was good exercise. The walk to the beach can be steep at times so wouldn't be good for someone with mobility issues. We loved it here and would definitely go back and recommend it to our friends.

The location is very convenient, close to the main street, but not in a noisy place, you need to walk about 10 minutes, or take a transfer from the hotel, which leaves every 30 minutes. Breakfast is varied and tasty; pancakes and omelettes are prepared upon request. If you are choosing a place to swim in the pool, it is better not here, it is too warm here and with a large amount of chlorine. |28.27km from city centerWhat a stay! The staff are so unbelievably welcoming and friendly. Upon arrival you’re greeted by happy members of staff and a welcome drink. Although they give you lots of information at the beginning they helpfully provide an A4 piece of paper with it all on afterwards so you don’t forget.
After quite a disastrous day of travel for us, all of it was forgotten thanks to the staff and beautifulness of the hotel. They were also the only hotel we stayed at (we’ve stayed at many while travelling around Philippines) that acknowledged and cared about the fact it was our honeymoon.
They also assisted with our booking of taxis and the underground river tour (highly recommend!). On the beach they also offer free kayak hire for guests.
Thank you for a lovely stay! Highly recommend this hotel.
