They lie and said I booked a smoking room, I insisted that I didn't since I have sinuses. The lady that was at reception forced the smoking room on me and said they don't have any rooms available. I thought the room wasn't bad but when I got there, the smell was terrible, I couldn't take it. I went over to ask for my refund as my email stated the room I booked wasn't. They gave me the room which means they were lying, I don't know if they were profiling me or what.

I pretty much loved my staying here. The location is perfect. It takes 20 minutes to get there from the airport by train and around 30 min by car . The room was great( only one thing - the ac didn’t work and it was super cold, but the lady helped me really fast , so it is ok) I love the bar and design of the hotel itself. The area around the hotel is beautiful and safe . Will definitely stay again .

Hotel is rated at 5star but the amenities are quite average. The standard king size room is smaller than I have experience in some other hotels if that range. You do not find water glasses in the room. Room service is very slow and sometimes your call will just keep transferring between room service and reception if you needed something. If you ordered food in your room, you have to make payment immediately. It does not amount up to check out. There is only one restaurant, one cafe in the hotel. You can walk up to nearest restaurant for your food that is 800m away.Pool is there but you have to carry your own towel. The day we arrived, there was a birthday party around the pool with loud music. We avoided going to pool side. Shoe shiner is in the lobby and if you get your shoes cleaned he needs to be paid as compliment and that complement begins with 100rand minimum. To me it’s an average hotel and ok for a couple of days. It had some conference going on so extra crowd was also in the lobby for the two days we stayed If you are looking for a luxery experience, better choose another hotel. This hotel is ok for not more than two days of stay.

Phenomenal experience here at Hyatt House in Sandton! Set in the suburbs of Johannesburg, this hotel provides a safe and tranquil environment. Rooms were super comfortable and had an apartment sort of setup with a stove, microwave, and mini fridge. In addition, the staff here are absolutely INCREDIBLE. I honestly cannot thank them enough. They are super kind and will make sure you have a great stay in Johannesburg. I got drinks menu on arrival which was served free of charge, wasn’t expecting that in South Africa🤪🤪 Check in was super quicknand smooth, beautiful room with proper amenities. I was impressed by the breakfast options and the restaurant itself….stunning and aesthetically pleasing. I have stayed at the Quatermain before, and I am happy to say that the whole experience was once again just lovely! I had arrived VERY early on my check-in day and the staff made sure that I had a room well before the scheduled check-in time AND they upgraded me too! The staff at the hotel are friendly, helpful and all round just a delight!! Even with the ongoing challenges that loadshedding (scheduled power outtages) brings to the smooth operation of any business. The gardens are immaculate and tranquil, and it is unbelievable to think you are in the middle of everything with the peace and quiet that pervades. The little bistro / restaurant's menu is thankfully limited, as it means that the quality can be assured and anything that is made tastes deliciously homemade. The evening buffet is very good value for money! Just a small note that due to loadshedding, sometimes the email/booking system gives some issues - so don't forget to just follow up once booked :)

I stayed here for two weeks. There was daily cleaning which was great. The room was clean and cozy and had everything I could need. The hotel was simple, nothing to complain about. The staff were great and friendly all the time. Some neighbors were loud but nothing to be scared of as I felt safe at all times. Unfortunately there was construction during my whole stay, but they were friendly too and kept the dust at a minimum. It was also a 5 minute Uber to Sandton which was a plus. I would definitely stay here again, especially for a long term stay.

If I'm in Yeoburg again, I'm definitely going here. Moreover I have an unlocked gestalt - I didn't swim in the pool!

I really enjoyed this hotel, the staff was very friendly and the location was great. The hotel offers many amenities, they even have a private cinema. All the staff are very helpful and always willing to help with anything. The room was quiet and clean and the bed was comfortable. I will definitely be staying here every time I visit Johannesburg.

From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming, making the check-in process smooth and effortless. The rooms are modern, stylish, and impeccably clean, with comfortable beds and thoughtful amenities that made it easy to relax after a long day. The attention to detail throughout the hotel is impressive, creating a luxurious yet comfortable atmosphere. One of the biggest highlights is the hotel’s excellent location. It’s conveniently situated close to Sandton City, Nelson Mandela Square, and the Gautrain, making it an ideal choice for both business and leisure travellers. The breakfast buffet offered a wide variety of fresh, delicious options, and every meal I had at the restaurant was of excellent quality. The facilities, including the gym, pool, and spa, are well maintained and add tremendous value to the overall experience. What truly sets The Catalyst apart is the exceptional customer service. Every member of staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable, always greeting guests with a smile and a willingness to help. If you’re looking for a modern, comfortable, and well-located hotel in Johannesburg, I highly recommend The Catalyst Hotel. It offers outstanding value for money and delivers a level of hospitality that makes you want to return. I will definitely be staying here again on my next visit to Sandton.

Hotel is rated at 5star but the amenities are quite average. The standard king size room is smaller than I have experience in some other hotels if that range. You do not find water glasses in the room. Room service is very slow and sometimes your call will just keep transferring between room service and reception if you needed something. If you ordered food in your room, you have to make payment immediately. It does not amount up to check out. There is only one restaurant, one cafe in the hotel. You can walk up to nearest restaurant for your food that is 800m away.Pool is there but you have to carry your own towel. The day we arrived, there was a birthday party around the pool with loud music. We avoided going to pool side. Shoe shiner is in the lobby and if you get your shoes cleaned he needs to be paid as compliment and that complement begins with 100rand minimum. To me it’s an average hotel and ok for a couple of days. It had some conference going on so extra crowd was also in the lobby for the two days we stayed If you are looking for a luxery experience, better choose another hotel. This hotel is ok for not more than two days of stay.

The room was more spacious than I expected, and the bedding was very comfortable with excellent cleanliness. The location is convenient, just a 5-minute walk from the subway station. The front desk staff were very enthusiastic; they even quickly brought a nail clipper to my room in the middle of the night. The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but it tasted great. I'd suggest adding a shelf in the bathroom. Overall, it offers great value for money, and I'd consider staying here again.

The location is spectacular. The rooms are good value for money. I liked my stay a lot. The only thing is if you’re booked into a room further away, you must know that if it is raining you have to walk outside and to the entrance to fetch your food orders or get your uber — only downside.
