If you have something to do at UC Berkeley, this hotel is the best place to stay with following reasons.
(1) Best Location - The nearest to the UC Berkeley, (2) Staff there is super nice and friendly. It made my stay so comfortable.
In a meanwhile, you need to bear in mind that (1) Facility is old, (2) you need to bear additional cost, such as Overnight Self Parking 37.00, and (2) Property Amenity Fee 25.00, (3) Property Amenity Fee City Occupancy Tax 3.00, that are not cheap.
Overall, I'm satisfied with my choice!

The room was unique, the bathroom was large and very clean, the bed was soft, the sofa was distinctive, the floor was hard but very clean, the curtains were checkered fabric, the front desk staff were very welcoming, and the elevator was a bit old and creaked.

A simple four-star hotel. Although it has central air conditioning, it is still a bit noisy. The walls are not soundproof enough. The cleaning staff only speaks Spanish and not English. Parking is at the parking lot next door for $23 a day. It is better than a motel in that it is a little quieter. The coffee provided is good. Also, the water seems to be purified and better than the average water in California.

Very friendly and helpful staff throughout my stay, right from the entrance to the exit of the hotel. Was also able to make requests using text messaging - very prompt response. Definitely want to come back and stay here again.

Had a wonderful time at Doubletree Hotel the atmosphere was great the staff was very attentive the restaurant was very presentable and the food was great I enjoyed the gym and it was very peaceful and quiet thank you again

The hotel is very new and is considered very good among hotels of the same price in the United States, but the disadvantage is that the room still has a bit of decoration taste. The hotel has a large parking lot and free parking, which saves a lot of money. It is 2 kilometers away from Berkeley, so you still need to drive or take a taxi.

great price for a stay in bay area. great housekeeping. great breakfast. one car window smashed in parking lot- be careful and keep valuables with you. pool & waffle bfast. but bfasts ends early, by 9 am.

The main reason for staying at this hotel is that it is close to UCB. You can live here by visiting the university: you can walk to Sather Gate 15 for 20 minutes and CKC for 20 minutes. Another major feature of the hotel is its beautiful environment. The outdoor environment is like a garden villa, with flowers, green plants and beautiful houses. It is small and exquisite. The room facilities are very old, especially the carpet is estimated to have never been replaced, and it is not flattering. However, the size of the room is exactly the same for two people.

The room was really clean and the environment was very quiet. The only downsides were: 1) the pillow was not comfortable at all 2) no microwave or mini-fridge like it showed in the pictures. Otherwise, a really pleasant stay. Note, they will ask you to put $150 deposit which will be reimbursed back to you the next day after your stay.
