The biggest advantage of this hotel is its proximity to the Central Station and the Cathedral. Traveling with my child from Edinburgh to Cologne, our flight was delayed, plus a one-hour time difference, so by the time we got out of the train station, it was almost midnight. Luckily, the hotel was just a 5-minute walk away. Since our train was leaving at 2 PM the next day, I requested a 1 PM late check-out, which they granted. After a delicious and substantial breakfast (the hotel breakfast is great!), we headed to the Cathedral, which was just across the train station. The room size was significantly larger than similarly priced hotels I've stayed in the UK, which was a nice bonus.

43 minutes to check in at the counter. The lady couldn't really help it, as she was still at the beginning of her training. However, during this time, several employees and managers walked past the check-in and seemed to think the long queue behind us was normal. At least, no one seemed interested. How can such a hotel put an inexperienced trainee alone at the check-in and only have one workstation occupied? The immediate supervisor was constantly doing other tasks and eventually felt compelled to open a second check-in desk.

I’m a female solo traveller so feeling safe is a top priority for me. This hotel was perfect, it was close to the U-Bahn (about 7 minute walk). The room was spacious, clean and it included a kitchenette, lounge with TV, double bed and modern bathroom. The kitchenette had plenty of amenities (microwave, fridge, kettle, hob, cutlery, plates and bowls, cooking equipment (pans, sieve etc).
You also have the use of the coffee machine downstairs in the lobby (self service) which was great!
I was nearly put off by some of the negative reviews on here but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay again.

Location: a short walk to city centre. It is convenient but not in crowded city centre.
Room: modern and big apartment. It equips with everything we need. The room is spacious. The water pressure for the shower is not that strong.
Service : good service and we have unlimited coffee. Cookie. water. Etc
Value: good value compares to other hotels in cologne.

The hotel is in a good location, just opposite the cathedral, 30 meters away. The room facilities are very poor, and the glass in the lobby is broken. The price-performance ratio is not low, but the hotel doorman service is extremely poor.

Stayed as a couple at Club King Double room for 5 nights during the Amphi Festival.
Pros:
- Unbeatable location, walking distance to everything while not within the Old Town which is way too touristy. Five-minute walk from the train that takes you straight to the airport.
- Room 99% soundproof, very private and peaceful (stayed at the Club floor, 6/6).
- Amazing bed.
- Full-size working desk in the room.
- Daytime service very professional, helpful, and friendly.
- The Club Floor lounge has it's own very good breakfast buffet (included with the Club rooms at no extra cost - apart from the higher cost of the Club room itself - so you might skip paying extra for the regular breakfast at the restaurant). Also daytime tea with cake and an evening snack are served as well. The snack could become your legitimate dinner if you need it, as there are hot options and appetizers. Amazing view of the cathedral from the Lounge.
- The food was amazing.
Cons:
- The night shift staff is not at the same level as the day shift, so try to resolve your matters during the day.
- Some visible wear and tear in the room (not important to me, but might bother some who expect everything to be 100% at this price point).
Overall:
- Highly recommend, would stay again.

It's located across from Cologne Cathedral, and looks spectacular lit up at night. The room was very spacious and comfortable. I was happy to have free water in the room, but perhaps because Germany is an environmentally advanced country, it was bottled water rather than plastic bottles. It's inconvenient to carry around, but it was enough for making tea in the room.
If I had to say something negative, it would be that you have to cross a bridge to get to Cologne Cathedral and the station, but you have to go down a flight of stairs to get to the hotel entrance. It was a bit inconvenient to go up and down with a suitcase.

The hotel location was great, and so close to the subway for easy transport into the city. When I made the reservation, it did not indicate that parking was an additional fee, just that there was parking. Not that parking was very much, but I don't recall seeing a fee posted on the booking website, and it was jusy unexpected. The room was sufficient- a tiny bit smaller than expected. And the room had a slight sour smell, not sure if it was mildew or just stuffy from the winter west weather, but we were only there one night, so we didn't fuss. The check-in staff spoke less english than expected, but was okay, as my Deutsch was just good enough we could meet in the middle. Breakfast was a good spread and the attendants were plenty.

We set 5 people, 2 big and 3 small. Give a basement room. It doesn't feel happy.
And the basement - there is one room that is still separated from the other room, it doesn't feel very good.
The front desk must call one day in advance, otherwise no one may be found. The reception is at 201, if you go directly to 205, there is an empty front desk.

The whole house is very interesting. The junior suite is actually a large studio. It has a modern art style, a bit of a studio. The front wall is full of oil paintings, Gothic glass windows, and the winter windows are cool. I like it.

The guest I booked for enjoyed staying at QVEST but would noted that it would have been very helpful to know in advance that the room does not come equipped with an air conditioning unit.
