Beautiful place, peaceful and serene. Everything there is so well thought out and the staff are just wonderful. I'm really pleased we booked here. It is expensive but I don't think you would get the same experience anywhere else. There was a lovely elderly man who put on a magic show for my son. Brilliant experience l would highly recommend.

Feida Pavilion Flower Fan is a Japanese-style ryokan. The hotel shuttle bus departs from JR Takayama Station West Exit Hotel Bus Station every day from 1400 to 1730. The bus will depart every half an hour. The driver will confirm the name of the reservation customer before boarding. When arriving at the hotel, the waiter will be very warm and courteous. The same waiter received the welcome drink and snacks, then introduced the hotel facilities, and then confirmed the meal time.
The food is delicious and delicate, if you are not full, you can eat ramen for a late night.
The hot spring water is very slippery and the environment is good. Basically, there are not many hotel guests during the off-season. There are only three or four kittens dipping in the public hot spring. It feels quiet and comfortable. The male and female soups are interchangeable in the morning. If you want to soak all the hot springs, you can try it in the morning. The foot soup is also good.

Japanese-style hotel, room comes with outdoor hot spring, dedicated service, although the price is not cheap, but also worth the money
Dinner and breakfast are the characteristics of Japanese-style hotels. Dinner is served on the road, and breakfast is placed on the table in advance.
The disadvantage is that it is far away from the JR station. The hotel has a shuttle bus from the JR station during the day. If you arrive at the store at night, you have to walk a long way, and there are few shops.

The hotel is beautifully situated by the river. It was snowing heavily when we checked in, and from our room window, we enjoyed beautiful views of the snow-covered town and the temple rooftops across the river. Every staff member was incredibly polite, and the hot springs, with both indoor and outdoor options, were very relaxing. Each guest party dines in a private room, offering serene views of a charming courtyard. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay.

I think it's one of the top ryokans in Japan. Everything was top notch: warm and kind service, delicious dinner and breakfast, variety of indoor and outdoor baths and, of course, amazing traditional style building, perfectly decorated and great for exploration. Here my dream came true!

The location of the hotel is very good, you have to walk there. Japanese hotel, the service is very good, breakfast is very rich every day. There are also small hot springs to soak. The service staff is very kind.

The room is large, with a bubble pool, and the traffic in the alpine city is convenient. Grandma White hair arranged breakfast and dinner, and there was a special person to make the bed and fold the quilt for a few nights.

This was the most expensive and luxurious hotel I've ever stayed at.
I was assigned to a 'Jing Suite' in the 'Kou Chu Jing' series. Although these suites aren't as newly renovated as the 'Heki Suites,' they come with a jacuzzi! I didn't even bother with the hotel's onsen because of it. My first jacuzzi experience was absolutely amazing. You pull down the blinds, lie back, and watch the small TV in the opposite bathroom, while powerful jets massage your feet. The toiletries were all Sekkisei or POLA (for use in the hotel only, not to be taken). All the drinks in the mini-fridge were complimentary and could be taken with you. Plus, there was a capsule coffee machine in the room with four free capsule coffee flavors.
The view from the living room was fantastic. The toilet and bathroom were two separate rooms; the bathroom was closer to the bedroom, while the toilet was next to the living room outside. It had a motion-sensing light, so if you sat there for too long, you'd have to move or the light would turn off by itself 🤣.
I called the hotel three days in advance to pay for an upgrade to the highest-tier 'All Hida Beef Dinner.' All the ingredients were Hida beef, and the menu even listed the cow's name and origin. You could also order à la carte from the hotel's partner sushi restaurant; I added sashimi and vinegar crab, and I was absolutely stuffed.
Since I contacted them in advance, they provided a complimentary shuttle service to and from Takayama Station. Upon arrival at 12:30 PM, it was a mini-bus, and the driver (a kind older gentleman) was easy to spot, holding a whiteboard with my name written on it. For departure at around 2:00 PM, it was a fancy black sedan, which looked super luxurious.
The Nepalese staff member, dressed in a kimono, escorted me to the room and explained everything in detail. The restaurant also had private rooms. For breakfast, you could choose between Japanese or Western. After much deliberation, I opted for the safe and popular Western breakfast because some of the ingredients in the Japanese breakfast were a bit too healthy and exotic for my taste. The most memorable item was the hotel's dashi-rolled omelet, which was incredibly delicious. Milk, orange juice, and tea were all free and unlimited during breakfast.
It truly showed that you get what you pay for!

First off, I have to say the hotel staff were fantastic. We were greeted with a drum performance upon entering, which was a lovely touch. We were also picked up from Takayama Station in a high-end Toyota by a suited driver – talk about VIP treatment! All the staff were incredibly warm and friendly, and they spent about half an hour explaining all the hotel services to us.
My only slight complaint is about the onsen facilities. Besides one small one, we had to go to the hotel across the street to use the others, and they weren't very big. A minor point, but worth mentioning.
The 'one night, two meals' dining package was exceptional. The Hida beef kaiseki dinner we booked was incredibly lavish, a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Breakfast was also very extensive. It definitely feels like a hotel with a rich history.
We bought a lot of local Takayama specialties from the hotel's gift shop. The hotel is currently undergoing an expansion, so the view from our window was partially obstructed by a crane. However, it snowed at night, and seeing the white roofs of Takayama's streets created a beautiful, Edo-period atmosphere. Highly recommend! The hotel's service is top-notch, especially the friendly driver who chatted with us in English and even gave us recommendations at the station. It truly felt like experiencing high-end Japanese hospitality.

I used it for the second and third nights of Takayama.
It's a short walk from the city, but when I asked for a car, I came to pick me up.
And I made a reservation with two meals, but when I confirmed it, it seemed that only one meal was included. The staff was a little impatient at first, but it seemed to be occasionally, and after showing the reservation content, I calmly responded normally.
I was surprised that it was almost full for two nights, but among them, the Japanese were about one pair with me, and I think all of them were European 々 🤣
The bath was also very good with an open-air bath, sauna and petit jacuzzi.
All the meals were delicious.
Thank you ❣️

Good quiet corner of Takayama, but still close enough to necessities such as drug store, supermarkets and convenience stores and just a short distance away to attractions in Takayama makes this quaint and charming traditional ryokan a recommended stay here in Takayama

The third time staying in this hotel over the past 5 years. Disappointingly, no improvement was seen, particularly the quality of food presumably to be of high quality for luxurious rooms with private onsen. Routinized Japanese Haute cuisine with no surprise, four small pieces of signature Hida wagyu could only be seen as a decoration. Yet the price was relatively high with over five hundred US dollars for a two-person one night stay (breakfast and dinner included). The service, the food, the environment, etc. require considerable improvement.

An amazing hotel in Takayama, and the hot springs are incredibly relaxing! The location is halfway up the mountain, so if you're traveling on foot, be prepared for a bit of a workout. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the meals are also delicious! The staff are friendly and attentive. This is a hotel I'd definitely want to visit again! 🥰

The hotel is about 500 meters from Takayama Jr Station and 800 meters from Chaoshi Old Street. It has a superior location and convenient transportation. The hotel staff is warm and thoughtful, the breakfast is rich and delicious, and you can soak in hot springs. It is my first time staying in a Japanese hotel. I feel novel and the experience is very good. I will choose to stay here again when I come to Takayama

This was my son's first experience in a Japanese traditional ryokan. According to him, the experience of just one night there was wonderful.
As for me, I would like to be provided more service such as yukata for free, however, I was surprised that I had to pay an additional 700 yen for the yukata despite of the ryokan's high score.
The hotel itself is quite large, there are an old main building and a new one connected to each other.
There are two onsens in there. I particularly enjoyed the one named ”Fuga” (Tenryo no yu) located on the lowest floor. Everything was quite accurate, elegant and perfectly clean there.
For dinner, we had a barbecue with local Hida beef. I tasted 3 kinds of local sake, premium quality, that was very nice. But most of all we enjoyed Hida beef sushi there. My son was very impressed by its softness, that quite literally melted on the tongue.

The hotel locate near JR station. You can walk 6-10 mins to hotel or get the hotel shuttle bus. But this hotel far from old town and morning market. You have to get hotel shuttle bus but shuttle bus to Jinya market only service in the morning. After that you have to get shuttle bus to JR station then walk to old town.
The Izakaya restaurant in hotel is delicious. You don’t need to go outside. You can enjoy onsen and then dinner in the hotel.
The vending machine in this hotel don’t have any beer but there are many kind of beer, sake, whiskey in souvenir shop but it close 10 pm.. So if you want to buy more after that, you need to go to 7-11 that locate the opposite of the hotel.
Hotel staffs are friendly and good service. I’m very appreciate that.
