Reviews From Real Travelers
We had been travelling in the South of France for 9 days when we arrived in Lyon to stay in this beautiful hotel. The location near the funicular and the Roman museum/amphitheatre was perfect. Literally 10 minutes interesting walk downhill to the old town. But it was a struggle to ever leave. The bed was extraordinarily comfortable, the pool area(which we were the only occupants of) was so relaxed. The breakfast delicious. But it was the ever helpful, professional, delightful staff that made the whole experience. The concierge made excellent walk/meal suggestions and she so patiently explained the easiest way to find places. The breakfast staff couldn’t be more welcoming and accommodating. Actually every staff member we encountered was delightful as if they really wanted us to have the best possible stay in this exquisite hotel We rarely return to a place, but it would be worth returning to Lyon just to stay here!

The hotel is very well situated overlooking the city of Lyon same goes for the restaurant la Têtedoie. The staffs were very nice and responds your needs and make it happen. The service, the personal and the cleanness was top. Overall I recommande you this hotel !

On the hill, the hotel overlooks the old town and the main church, and the scenery is breathtaking. The breakfast is very good, the variety is rich, the fruit is very fresh, and the outdoor dining environment is equally satisfying. The hotel’s Michelin restaurant is also very good, with a historic and historic location in the heart of the city. The outdoor swimming pool is also very beautiful, and you can take a look at the night in the night to enjoy the real night! Every day, I have to climb a high ladder back to the hotel, so tired, oh, oh

The hotel was transformed into a hotel from the nuns of the monastery many years ago! I want the biggest room, bathing hot and cold water can not be controlled, cold and hot, too horrible and terrible, if you are not afraid of burns, then I am afraid that I have to wipe the body with a towel, but the five-star hotel can not bathe ? ? ? ? Bathing in the bathtub, the plug can not stop the leaking reaction is useless, so not active or pay attention to the reaction of the guests, does not explain the situation or can not handle ... and so on? Do you want to see if I am an Asian, can you ignore it? ? ? After living for four nights, the response did not respond and did not improve!

Deserves to be a five star hotel in Lyon, with friendly staff. I booked a classic room breakfast for about 1.3K a night. The breakfast was pure western style, but there was a lot of fresh fruit, which was also very cheap in Europe. The view is good, the location is good, and the subway is 10 minutes walk from the hotel. After going to the old town for dinner, I walked back to the hotel and it took 25min. Drinks in the mini bar are free (with fruit juice and cola).

Traveling, the hotel is quiet, travel mainly considering safety, clean and other factors, is still good, there is also a parking lot, suitable for self-driving travel, a good choice.

We loved out stay at Hotel Carlton-Lyon. It was a wonderful surprise! We spent 5 days here in a room with a king-size bed. The only downside is the lack of storage for clothes in the room, but we got creative. If you are expecting US-sized rooms you will be disappointed, but for European rooms we were very happy. The bathroom is large with a shower/bath that has great water pressure and temperature. The mattress and pillows are comfy. The air conditioner was great during a very warm week. The hotel is amazingly quiet. I never heard anything! Ride the beautifully renovated elevator. Breakfast is so wonderful- include it in the reservation. They have everything you could want for breakfast from bacon and eggs to meat and cheese, fresh fruit, granola, yogurt and PASTRIES. The staff are all terrific, but get a drink at the bar (an old-fashioned if you like them) and then go again. Shout out to bartender, Claudia, who made our trip so special. Not only did she recommend a great local restaurant for a Saturday night but then called them to squeeze us in for a last minute reservation at Bouchon des Cordeliers. Much appreciated after a more than 24 hour travel day. This location can't be beat. It is walking distance to so many things including Vieux Lyon (~5 min) and the art museum (15 min). It is a less than 5 minute walk to the bus. Take the C5 bus to Parc de Tete or the International City Center convention center. SO easy! You want to shop? This location has everything... Hermes, Louis Vuitton, UNIGLO, North Face... More nearby cafes, brasseries, boulangeries, patisseries and bouchons than you can image. Rent a bike or an electric scooter. Fun, easy, and very convenient. All in all, we loved this place and would definitely come back. I can't speak to the price/value because I was at a convention and got convention rates that seemed very reasonable. Stay here- you won't be disappointed.

Everything was good during my stay in the hotel. Room was clean and spacious. I was given room upgrade due to Gold status. Breakfast room ladies were great and nice people. Good service. Cosy bar area where I got my complimentary drink. However, what left a bad taste was the issue about not giving me my hotel invoice and zero response after I emailed them. This caused 1 star. At checkout, I paid with my credit card and asked if the invoice would be emailed to me like the other Accor hotels. The front desk staff said that she would email the paid invoice to me and verified my email address. After 1 week, I saw nothing in my mailbox. Checked my junk mail folder - nothing. Checked my bank account - successful credit card transaction. I emailed hotel via their official email on the Accor room reservation confirmation email to ask if they have forgotten to do so. (I typically receive email invoice/bill after I checked out - immediately or max 1-2 days). No response for almost a week. I emailed Accor customer service, but it took about 5 days or so to reply to me. The response was that they forward my request to the hotel. I am kinda upset that they did not put any urgency to this matter, as I have to submit this for claims since it was a business trip. And I am still waiting for the invoice. This is just ridiculous. First time having such terrible experience with MGallery hotel, and my only contact is the hotel email that doesn't give me any reply. My previous stays with other MGallery hotels typically include either GM or customer experience manager popping by to introduce himself/herself and giving me their name cards, so that I have direct access to them if I require their assistance. Sometimes their contacts will be on the greeting cards in my room. Carlton hotel didn't do so, hence I kinda have no other contact options except Accor customer service that is rather laggy in their response speeds. Seems like Carlton hotel is the black sheep among MGallery hotels - a terribly bad outlier. If Carlton Hotel management is reading this, please act on this immediately and send me my invoice. Every guest is entitled to receive his/her invoice after paying at check-out. I believe that I have been patient enough to wait for so long, before I decide to write this bad review.

Booking in advance is cost-effective, breakfast is good, the location is in the scenic area, it is very convenient to go to the top of the mountain church.

The service is very good and warm and thoughtful. I heard noise in the room, patiently helped to find, found that the electric car parked outside the building, and will move away. The room is large, clean and tidy. The bathroom has no glass door and the water will flow through the bathroom. The location is not very convenient. On the top of the mountain, there is only one supermarket nearby. The door is closed very early. There are almost no restaurants. It is necessary to go down the mountain to find it. It takes 20-25 minutes.

Incredible hotel, great location steps away from many well known attractions, such as the Roman amphitheatre and basilica. The facilities and staff are top notch and the hotel pool is amazing!

We enjoyed our stay here. On the plus side: superior double very spacious. Aircon worked. Bed very comfortable with good quality linen. WiFi good. Water and coffee machine. Lift made access to upper floors easy. Lovely bathroom with good quality towels. Staff charming and efficient. Communication good. Great location - right in the middle of Presqu’ile, loads of restaurants, bars nearby and easy to get to all the sights. Ten mins by taxi from Part Dieu. Good price/value for money. Not so great: very little storage space. Shower floor slippery - not good if you have balance is not great. Had to put a towel down. Some things looked a little tired and in need of some tlc. Can’t comment on breakfast. The breakfast room is down a spiral staircase which I couldn’t manage. Never mind. Got a good breakfast elsewhere. On balance would recommend this hotel. Thank you for our stay.

Best thing about this hotel is the location! Very accessible to any of the key sights so it’s a very good choice for first time visitor to Lyon. Pros: Easy check in, quaint interior design, cosy lounge with free coffee, friendly front desk, comfy bed and pillow, 3mins to nearest parking garage (about 35euro per day) Cons: Relatively small room, thin wall, so-so wifi. To note: Air con may be central controlled. Need to call recep to allow cool mode at the beginning.

The location of the hotel is okay, it is close to the Lyon-Patiu train station, there are 2 subway lines nearby, and many bus lines, breakfast is also good, and the double bed room is not bad.
