My wife and I enjoyed a wonderful 2 weeks here for our honeymoon. We stayed in villa 2 , room was big , great super king-size bed. The pool and views of the sea are amazing. Food wasn't great which is why I rated 4 stars. Everything else was amazing, the staff couldn't do enough for you, big mention to Francisco, Noemi, Jorge , and Freddy who catered to our every need, we can't thank them enough for their speedy service and attentiveness. Also a shout out to the entertainment staff Gio and Tati. To all the staff thank you so much for making our honeymoon so special. Love from Ireland to you all.

The most cost-effective hotel in the Tulum Beach area, with a beautiful cliff sea view, welcome drink, and you can book a sea view for dinner, the view is beautiful… The hotel can't go directly to the sea, so the price is relatively beautiful, and it's not far away if you want to go to the sea. There is a white sand beach next door after a five-minute walk. The room is big, and hot tea is delivered every day. The service is very good, especially the price is half of that of many hotels in the beach area next door. It's perfect!

To experience life in the primitive era, the only electricity used in the room is a fan, and lighting candles at night. Although there is a little inconvenience, it is quite fun to experience it, but it should be uncomfortable to stay a few more nights. To bring children, it is suitable to bring older children, too young children are not safe enough in the environment. One and a half to two hours from Cancun Airport, there is valet parking at the door.

A+++ Family Vacation (2 Adults, 3 Kids – 4, 5 and 7). You should not hesitate to book this super lux spot for your next vacation. We chose Conrad Tulum because it was on the CN Traveler best places to go. It did not disappoint. No way for the resort to be any more lux/beautiful or service to be better. Pictures are real and in some cases don’t do the place enough justice. Place is brand new. Further, the “kids club” was critical to our vacation. Shamara, Sehem, Ivette and Ruth all jointly run the kids club. It is a mix of indoor and outdoor activities from 945am-5pm (lunch with parents at Noon). Making pinatas, painting, reading, traditional Mexican art/crafts alongside pool (there is a specific pool about 2.5 feet-3 feet deep which is great for young children), beach, watersport, treasure hunts around the resort, etc. This is a very curated program for kids, exceptional in every aspect and also customizable based on what the kids may want to do. My kids are begging to return. Thank you to the staff at the kids club! Some other outstanding parts of the resort include morning wellness activities on the beach (Rafael is wellness coach speak to him on arrival for schedule/info) and the breakfast restaurant which has countless stations servicing traditional Mexican food cooked to order in front of you by chefs as well as a plethora of recognizable American breakfast items. It is a showstopper. Rivals the best breakfasts at the worlds finest hotels. Other restaurants on site (pan Asian, Japanese, Mexican, etc) are all superb. Guacamole, coconuts, champagne, wines all delivered poolside, beachside, etc. All the fine service you would expect. Some suggestions for the future as the hotel is brand new. Fix (or get a new) ATM that dispenses Mexican Peso so Americans can tip your exceptional staff in pesos without paying a silly exchange rate at the front desk. For the watersports company on the beach they need high end equipment to match the character of the hotel. For example, snorkel equipment must be the “dry” snorkels and they should have goggle defogger on site and used prior to each swim – price should be raised to accommodate this. Oscar is the local snorkel guide and he is REALLY GOOD. There is a massive set of coral reefs with tons of fish (some as big as sharks) outside the hotel but accessible only with the best equipment. (bring your own better yet!). Childrens food at the hotel/poolside could improve so that the kids have healthy and LOCAL choices (fruit/veg as sides, fun kid local fruit drink, less of the burger/chicken stuff that is on every menu in the USA). Guacamole ice cream cones (made from tortilla chips, delivered as fun snacks for free every day which the kids loved) were amazing and that should be on the menu! Finally, there are some comments about sea****. They have huge crews that come clean it up every morning (done by about 9/10am). Its not a nuisance. Probably by the time you wake its all gone and you never know its there. It

The all-encompassing deciding factor is the number of restaurants, but here, in addition to various restaurants in Mexico, Italy, sushi, France, teppanyaki, buffet style, there are ice creams and smoothies, cafes, etc. I like it every day! !! There are a few souvenir shops, they are very good! The good thing is the evening event, where the souvenir stall opens from the square on the spot. It is nice to see something other than the souvenir shop without going out. Most importantly, the tequila store and the artists attracted on the spot are great! The resort also holds many activities every day. I am looking forward to participating in cooking classes, sports, etc.!

I stayed at this hotel for 12 days at the beginning of September, on vacation with my family. The first sensation was the slow service and little assistance on arrival, we felt lost, which is not very normal in this type of hotel. The staff are friendly, but in general there is a lack of knowledge about the services and facilities of the hotel, they often did not know how to answer questions about the location of certain places or services provided by the hotel. Rooms are spacious but dated, all decor dated, furniture worn and scruffy. The assistance doesn't work any better, I asked 6 times to be repaired the light on the balcony and until I left it didn't work. Restoration gives a clear feeling of disorganization, the identification plates, most of the time do not correspond to the food, other times non-existent, endless queue for eggs to the point that I gave up, lack of vegetarian options and the existing ones of poor quality… in my opinion so mediocre that we almost always went to Tulum to eat (this one was much better in terms of organization). The best thing about this hotel is the beach, which is a calm bay, perfect for children and relaxing, despite the fact that this year there was a huge plague of sargassum. Very beautiful coral with some fish just after the signal buoys, but they don't let you go there…(once again they don't explain why but after I discovered that the main reason is due to the fact that it is a protected area) In short, I rested and had a good vacation but this hotel is not Luxury experience, need urgent room refurbishment and better organization of restoration. Too expensive for the quality offered. not Luxury experience, need urgent room refurbishment and better organization of restoration. Too expensive for the quality offered.

As a family of 4, with two young children we had a great time. Food: Buffet food was great and a lot of diversity. The à la carte restaurants you should definitely try the Mediterranean, the Gourmet and Mikado. Room: Very clean and the room service was always done and never missed anything. Pool: pool is clean, with a lots of entertainment and activities. There are things to do all day, volleyball, games, aqua fit classes, cooking classes, bingo, ping pong, etc. The entertainment team is great and make sure you have fun. Kids club: Amazing! Thank you to the whole team for watching after my kids. They loved it so much that they were eager to go next day. They rehe****d during the day and participated in all kind of shows at night. The kids club team had all kinds of activities going all day and they use Whats Up to text you if your child need anything, including pictures of what they were doing. Great WIFI throughout the whole resort. Don’t miss the magic show at the Coba theatre if you have kids.

This has to be the worst experience I have had the displeasure of experiencing. Please read carefully before yoh decide to book this hotel. Upon checking in (1/11/23) you are asked to leave a deposit for incidentals. We booked 2 rooms so 2 deposits. At first when you enter, the room is clean and welcoming but it simply doesn't function. The remote control had the room number taped to it, the back of the remote that covers the battery kept falling off and there was evidence that a piece of tape was used to hold the back in place. Inside the room there was no furniture to place your folded clothes. Only hangers. We woke up the next morning wanting to iron our blouses to hang them only to realize that there was no iron or ironing board in any of the rooms, as a matter of fact we were told that we would have to go downstairs and request an iron and board at the front desk. There were no phones, radios, clocks anything that resembled some form of functionality. So to get the iron we had to walk downstairs since no phones to call to request one. Next to the hotel was a private home and on the property were 2 dogs who would constantly bark. Directly across from the hotel is a construction site so you had to contend with that noise as well. The worst part of our short stay (3nights) is upon checking out at 4am, you are told that someone would check your room before releasing the hold on your card. A man at the front desk went through the dirty towels and came downstairs and said there was a stain on the towel. A stain on towels that were not white or 'hotel worthy' to begin with. He had a picture of what he calls a stain and said they would charge us $17US for the stain on the towel. We were flabbergasted. Aren't towels suppose to get dirty. We told the gentleman that that is something that will come out after the towels are washed. He still charged us $17US for the stain. We will never stay at this hotel again and I implore you please avoid this hotel. This is not a boutique hotel but a cheap motel lacking basic amenities and then rips guests off after searching your dirty linens. My job affords me the luxury of travel and in all the 20yrs of stays in numerous hotels, boutique and all out resorts this is definitely the first time we heard such nonsense. No furniture was damaged, items broken but instead they charged us for a dirty brownish color towel. Definitely poor taste. Also avoid the breakfast nothing to spend $10US on but definitely visit Aldo's at the corner for some ice cream. A VERY DISAPPOINTING STAY.

Playa Paraiso Tulum|3.38km from city center
We've been for only 2 days at the Diamante K. It is located directly and the beach and a reaaallly beautiful resort. The bungalows are pretty small and don't have AC but a vent and the vent was rly good. We booked a bungalow with a shared bathroom and everything was completely fine and clean. Just that you know, you pay more for the location at the beach than the room itself, I think it would be a little bit expensive if it wouldn't be at the beach. There are free yoga classes every morning and you get conditioner and after sun and water. All the staff was rly friendly. We have been there in June 2023 and the sea**** is really not that bad. They have some ppl who carry it away from time to time but you have more sea**** if you go to Greece in summer. The only thing we found a lit bit annoying is that you have to pay every time you eat or drink something in the resort and if you eat sth at the beach and then go to the toilette for a minute but leave all your staff at the beach, they immediately ask you when and how you pay and follow you. You have to pay a deposit of 150 USD in the beginning and I think it is a little bit over the top to then follow the guests because of a 10€ meal when they go to the toilette for a sec. Maybe either way just come with the receipt directly or sign the bill and pay it when you check out. But besides that, pretty beautiful!

Second visit to this resort hotel. Loved it the first time so much we couldn’t wait to come back, but of course we had to wait until after the pandemic! Sadly, it didn’t quite live up to our memories. It certainly wasn’t as clean as the first time, lots of areas looked tired and grubby. Things like the showers and the balconies and also the pools and surrounding areas. It was sad really, because the staff were still as lovely and amazing as ever. It’s been four/ five years since last being here and I’m now vegetarian and was surprised at the lack of choice there is for those of us that don’t eat meat and fish. The beach bar literally only has chips and sometimes rice that’s a veggie option, so I wouldn’t say that was 5 * The saddest part was the sate of the beaches. There was rubbish and plastic everywhere, even on the turtle beach which they claim to pride themselves as eco friendly helping the turtles. This rubbish wasn’t cleared up the whole time we were here and just appeared to get worse and worse. I know that’s the environment we live in now, but when you’re claiming to be an ecological site this is poor, sadly poor. It was so sad to see turtle holes filled with rubbish and debris. The ATM didn’t work the whole time we were here (2 weeks) and they wouldn’t let us draw any money out on our cards, so we hadn’t got extra cash for tips or the twice weekly market. Sadly we won’t be returning or recommending it to our friends

We are leaving in the morning and wanted to report on our 10 night trip to GBP Tulum. First off, the staff is amazing. Rosalia and Jorge at The Truck particularly made our trip with their attention and personality. We hope to see them again one day. Jesus and Fredy specifically stood out at the buffet. This resort is perfect for kids of all ages. The water park area is superb and very well monitored. The kids club, though we did not partake in, looked very fun. The room, though updated recently, is showing a bit of wear but was always well cleaned by the staff. Mini bar restocked daily. A tip and a note for what you prefer goes a long way. We stayed in a two room suite which was amazing for a family of four. The food was very good and we specifically liked the Thali Indian restaurant. The Tequila Mexican would be our second choice. Dinner buffet was always full of quality choices. We enjoyed the nightly music by the pool. We did not get to experience the shows though as our kids sleep before they start. There was next to no sea**** on the beach during our time. It was beautiful but rocky in sections. Bring water shoes. My only complaints would be as follows: 1) The area by the kids water park at Tulum has a very slippery section by the transition from the larger kids area pool and the Vama fun area. You will see it marked with caution tape but they expanded the tape while we were there. I would recommend some etching of the concrete as it’s noticeably much more slick than the other pieces of concrete. 2) Play more local music during the day! We would have loved some Mexican, Latin, Spanish or Reggaeton music through the speakers but very rarely heard any. The playlist was a bit of a disappointment with bad pop music. We resorted to playing our own music. Please showcase local music! Hoping our next visit is not too far off. Thanks again to all staff.

Although it is located on the side of the road, because the room is equipped with soundproof glass, it is not noisy after closing the doors and windows. The internal environment is very fresh, the room and the bedding are very clean, the free breakfast is made to order, fresh and delicious, the room has free bottled water, a variety of tea bags and coffee, the front desk has hot and cold water dispensers, and the service attitude is also very good. The hotel was beautiful, the rooms were stunning with amazing views. The staff were lovely, especially Frida who was incredibly helpful. I felt like I was in a movie with how stunning our room was - we had an ocean view with a balcony pool and access path to the beach / beach club. The bed was very comfortable and the double shower was really good. I loved that the hotel had a small gym, equiped with modern facilities. The hotel also has so many lovely small touches like welcome cocktails, good night desserts, “good morning” messages in the sand outside your room and fresh fruit ice blocks provided at the beach club. I feel there needs to be more transparency with the service charge on the bills - I didn’t realised until a few days into our stay that there was a further section to the bills we were signing that was covered by the booklet they present you with. The bill should be shown in full, or the total placed above where you sign. Whilst the staff were lovely, we often had items missing from our breakfast each morning. The breakfast is also quite small with 1 x serving of yogurt between two. It would be great if the pool could be cleaned during the stay, or some jets put into the pools to move the water around and into the filter. At current the water is stagnant and doesn’t get filtered and a lot of things fly into the pool from the garden. Whist this seems small, when you are paying the price you are for the hotel, these small things should be addressed.

Zama Tulum|1.53km from city center
Very chic, new and modern hotel in the newly Aldea Zama neighborhood which is a modern mix where tropical and city meet. For starters the hotel is located in a new section of Tulum that’s “heavily” under construction. If you can see pass the construction you’ll be fine, if construction bothers you stay away. If you’re looking for beach access stay away. The beach is about 10 minutes (taxi), 35 minutes bike, or an hour walk. Speaking of bikes the hotel has them for free to use, which is a nice perk. The hotel pool and view is simply amazing! The hotels rooftop restaurants food is good (ate there twice). The rooms are spacious and new. I had a issue with my first room but they were able to move me to another room after some slight back and forth! It was my birthday and they welcomed me (in the room) with a happy birthday banner and towel cake (super cute and thoughtful). There are about two handfuls of restaurants in walking distance, a pet market, a fresh market, and pharmacies. They changed the towels everyday, they made the bed everyday but didn’t change the sheets although requested. The rooms always smell good and the staff they all are amazing, helpful and sweet! If your looking for a upscale vibe in a newer section this is the place you want to be.

First, some context. The author of this review had over 25 years of senior management experience in the resort industry, has stayed at hundreds of hotels in over 80 countries, and visited Mexico more than a dozen times. You drive around eight miles on a dirt road to get to O Tulum. This would not be a negative for us if the delightful description and pictures were real. They aren’t. The photos on the web site grossly misrepresent the units and pretty much everything else. The reserved unit (pool view) was so unacceptable we forfeited a nonrefundable night rather than stay in it. We did stay one night by paying extra for a honeymoon suite, which was pleasant but not a rave. The pool view unit on the second floor was a tiny, dark concrete box whose main view was a fence. The “honeymoon suite” was bright, overlooking the pool with ocean behind it. But it was run down in many areas and certainly not luxurious or worth the price. The beach in front of the property is rocky and not really swimmable or even very walkable. My only explanation for the many high reviews is that the staff, who were in fact quite nice, coached guests to rave. You can, I hope, do better.

The quality of the hotel is the best for the price. The location is a bit bad (there are usually hotels along the seaside in the hotel zone), but this one is in the middle of the city and you can't see the sea, but the facilities are so good that you'll be satisfied even if you can't see the sea. is. The price is cheaper than other hotels and the quality is good, so I can recommend it to others!

Zona Hotelera Tulum|5.4km from city center
We had an overall wonderful experience for our 7 days spent at Hotelito Azul! We went with another couple and each stayed in the Oceanfront Suites (we were above them, they were ground level). The rooms were clean and spacious. Somewhat limited storage for clothes but we made the best of the shelving/hanging unit provided. The shower is a dream. The maid service cleaned our room daily and did a wonderful job! We loved the treats left on our pillows each day. AC was yours to control. One challenge we faced that would have a simple fix was the lack of rugs in the room. You’re walking through sand to get to your room and yes, there’s a bucket of water to rinse before entering however we were desperate for a small outdoor rug or just something at either the sides or foot of the bed to brush off sand before getting in bed. Interestingly, our friends downstairs had an awesome runner at the foot of their bed so maybe just consistency with that would make a huge difference! You wake to a cute basket with coffee each morning and they will refill your drinking water as much as you need it in the room. We can’t say enough good things about the staff. You communicate to them through What’sApp which offered quick responses to any questions or concerns or when ordering food/drink. Larissa, the concierge was WONDERFUL. She welcomed us every day and made us feel right at home and taken care of during our stay. She helped fill out trip with wonderful experiences whether it be tours, great local spots for food/drink or logistics. We rented scooters from the hotel the majority of our vacation days and it was well worth it. We did find the prices just across the street were cheaper however we liked the convenience of renting through the hotel. The food and drink at the hotel is all delicious, although we quickly learned that eating and drinking on the beach does get expensive, so we chose wisely when/how much we ate at the hotel. This just comes with the location. The physical location of the hotel is ideal because it isn’t too far down into the beach strip, which traffic became pretty bad the further you drove in. The aesthetic and details of the hotel are perfect for making you feel like you’re living in a whimsical jungle. FYI to all looking to stay on the beach in Tulum, during April-November or so, Tulum gets a massive amount of seaweed that makes it nearly impossible to swim in the ocean. The hotels, including Hotelito Azul, do their best to remove as much seaweed from the beach as possible, but man, is it an uphill battle. This limited our ability to sit out on the beach unfortunately, because the only relief from the heat was the outdoor shower. Which, again, is lovely, but not the ocean. Luckily, Tulum has so many other wonderful things to do that we did not feel this impacted our trip in any significant way. Those that travel during the better months have a lovely beachfront area to look forward to at Hotelito Azul. All in all, we loved our stay at this hotel and look forward to returning in the future! Thank you all!

El Dorado Seaside Suites is not a five star resort. This resort is not a stand alone resort. For everything you need you have to go the The Palms Seaside suites. When we were there last week there was one restaurant at the El Dorado and it was open from 12:30 to 5:30. All the restaurants and bars are on The Palms side of the resort. They do have shuttle service but you have to wait for these to arrive. There is also no place to even get yourself a coffee if you don’t want to use the coffee maker in the room. There is a Starbucks on the Palms side but you have to pay for their coffee. There is basically no beach at the El Dorado. The white sand beach is on the Palm side. There is a very small beach which is full of cabanas reserved for the exclusive members. These cabanas cut your view of the ocean from the suites at the El Dorado. Our room was beautiful and the AC worked like a charm. Not a lot of hot water in the shower but enough to get by. The pillows in the room were horrendous. We asked for better pillows and it took three phone calls and 8 hours to get three of the worst pillows I have ever seen. We had a lot of problems getting sufficient drinking water delivered to our room. They give you six small bottles of water in the room when you arrive and then It is very hit and miss on getting anymore. Room service was abysmal. We phoned them numerous times and water was never delivered. This was the only way you could get water. None of the bars had any bottled water. But if you wanted booze it was there like Flash Gordon. The room service being poor is a big deal in the El Dorado as there is nothing there except the one restaurant which is only open for a few hours in the afternoon. The food was not good. The buffet restaurant is an after thought and one of the worst buffet restaurants I have ever seen in the Caribbean. The other restaurants are passable but do NOT live up to the hype of gourmet delight. It was wonderful to get away after not being away for four years, but I will never go back to this resort. The weather was nice. Pictures below are of the beach at the El Dorado seaside Suites.

This was our fifth time to visit this beautiful resort within the past 8 years. It was the first time for my mom and sister Debbie. We all had a wonderful time as there is something for everyone. There is a wide variety of food options and activities. We had a very enjoyable and efficient meal in the Lima restaurant on Thursday. We especially enjoyed the clean and quiet beach with the shade screens on the top of each of the palapas. We enjoyed snorkeling, paddleboarding with Miguel Angel and Sina. Adiel, Katarina, & Jessica also made it a fun vacation between Aquastretch & Spanish lessons. Alejandro made us healthy and delicious smoothies each morning. Our beloved Adriana along with Hector, Yasmin the hostess, Alejandro and all the other waiters in the buffet area provided exceptional service and attention as did all the kind ladies who brought us refreshments on the beach and in the lobby area. Thank you all for taking such good care of us. We look forward to returning next year and staying in quiet buildings 3 or 4. USA Transfers provided safe and timely shuttle service for our last two trips which has worked out extremely well.

Great hotel, beyond expectations, the entire hotel is a tropical small forest park, very beautiful. The butler service is invincible, but the restaurant service is average. The hotel has its own private access to the X'Caret Park next door (there is a private artificial canal in the lobby, which is accessible by boat). It is very convenient to play half a return to the seaside restaurant for a free meal and then enter the park. Food is ok (all inclusive hotels are not too high expectations). The hotel is very large, so there are golf shuttle buses to various points. There are all kinds of wild animals in the garden. The monkeys climbed directly to the balcony of our room and got close contact with them. Of course, they also saw other snakes, deer, lizards and so on. The rooms are fully equipped and the beds are very comfortable. The main course of the squid in the Chinese restaurant is delicious, and it is ordered. The beach is a bit poor, but it doesn't affect the overall experience, because there are too many interesting points, and the courtyard itself has a mini Mayan ruins.
