Went to sandy glade for a 70s weekend with 6 other girls had 8 berth chalet booked, we got to the chalet opened door to be greeted by strong smell of ****. Went to complain about it and they were very apologetic and didn't hesitate to give us another chalet( only had 2 2 berths), they said they knew about the smell and tried to clean it was not very happy that they even put us in the chalet, but the staff were very good. They chalets we had were nice clean and spacious. Whet out to see entertainment and was not expecting to see little children running around (didn't advertise as family weekend) at a 70s weekend

Well, what can I say about this little gem of a park. The staff are nothing but helpful. The grounds are perfectly maintained. The outside terrace is a spectacular addition and I will certainly be visiting this beautiful park again this year!

Terrible holiday site. Staff are not bothered at all about you or your stay. We arrived at what we thought was "silver" pet friendly accommodation. It was less than bronze! Faults from the beginning; the only door didn't lock, the tv remote didn't work, the "chalet" was smaller than a bedsit flat. It was like being in a gold fish bowl which the same "chalets directly across from you so if you want any privacy you have to close the patio door curtains shutting out most of the natural light, I went back and spoke to reception and it was like they couldn't give a damn. The only thing they said they'd sort was the door lock which the handyman did quickly (about the only nice staff member we encountered). The cafe didn't open until 5pm, you had to download an app to book the swimming pool etc, the campsite is overcrowded and feels compact. We didn't stay more than 2 hours, we ended up booking elsewhere just down the road which was a much nicer experience. I asked the staff how they could rate the box space as a silver chalet and they just said "we don't rate the accomodation".. really disappointed as St Ives site was so lovely and friendly which is why we booked again. Pet friendly means nothing, they still aren't allowed on any furniture at all or off lead anywhere on site. Will not be returning to John Folwer at all after that experience, they refused to offer any kind of discount/upgrade or refund despite us clearly being uncomfortable/unhappy. Not worth the money we paid, complete disappointment and a horrible start to our stay in Somerset.

We had an amazing time on this park, it’s the cleanest park I have ever been in and the accommodation was fantastic we stayed in a lodge with a hot tub and it was total relaxation. The staff on the park are second to none especially Caz, the entertainment was great and the amenities were very good. I would 100% recommend this park to anyone looking for an all round fabulous holiday xxx

A park that is striving, and currently succeeding, to upgrade all it offers to both owners and holidaymakers. The new terrace area is a real asset to the park, plus with improvements being made to the grounds throughout the park, including the planting of trees, flowers and shrubs, the Manager and staff, are onto a winner. Lovely to see the Manager and staff also undertaking tasks outside their remit, for example, the Manager assisting in grounds work, including tree planting.

Did not enjoy the entertainment. The program we were given did not match what actually went on. One night went out just to find the main area closed, even though it were 11pm and it was supposed to be open until midnight. The cleanliness of the accommodation was lacking in some areas. The microwave dish was dirty, with dry leftover food on it. The shower screen was dirty. Fingerprints all over the windows, cupboards and kitchen handles. The pool was small for the number of people allowed( max of 40 persons). It was pointless to ask reception to change the caravan, as we had a long drive under us, and we didn't want to be further disturbed. The staff member who welcomed us was friendly, ample parking spaces, the caravan was big, and having one en-suite toilet plus one family toilet was a bonus. The bed linen was clean and the beds where comfortable. Unfortunately, for what we paid, we feel our expectations were not met.

Love this area & have been to Sandy Glade numerous times. Majority of staff are helpful & friendly. Although we’ve noticed several times the park manager is very condescending towards them. Cafe is greasy and the accommodations are now very old fashioned. The maintenance team were helpful & amiable when sorting our shower issue-5* Shout out to Lisa on the front desk who always remembers us, makes us so welcome and works endlessly!

I have visited this site three times as part of a private event. During each visit the staff have been truly amazing and the park has been exceptional. Each year we have stayed in a Silver Chalet which I have found to be the ideal balance between cost and spec. We had everything we needed and more, including a dishwasher. The club house is a great size with a well stocked bar, staff are always friendly and it was fun to watch them get involved with the event itself. On-site there is also a decent shop which saved us a trip into Burnham-On-Sea multiple times and a Chef's Corner takeaway which served a very good array of meals for reasonable prices. Sadly 2023 saw the final year of the event being hosted at Sandy Glade as it has outgrown the size of the park. However I do fully intend to visit again for a personal holiday.

We've just got back from a Monday to friday in May half term. The accommodation we had a 3 bed silver chalet, there was plenty of space clean and tidy, perfect for 6 of us to live in and enjoy. Beds we're comfortable,we had a dishwasher which is a massive plus. Shower was quite small and had no cover which ment the floor flooded every time we washed. But apart from the the chalet was spot on. Children's activities there wasn't nowhere near enough for them to do 1 activity in the morning in the main hall. If your looking at the website and see the free water activities and like the idea of that dont bother. You need to download and book through an app which you can't book intill you get you room number, which by the time you get to book you will see its all fully booked from the guests who are staying on a Saturday to Saturday weeks holiday. So activities are very short. We went down into brean most of the days to use their arcades, fair etc. Evening entertaining is pretty naff aswell not much going on at all. We paid 400 for the 5 days so wasn't too bad because we used the decent accommodation as a base and went of and done our own thing. If your going here and planning on staying onsite then I wouldn't pay hundreds because you will be disappointed. We ate in the onsite cafe which was amazing, brilliant prices and top quality food definitely recommend you eat there.

Just got back from a week at Sandy Meadows. We stayed in Lodge 510 which is a gold Lodge. The site is lovely and quiet, beautiful surroundings. Unfortunately the lodge needs new chairs and coffee table and a new single mattress. There were holes in the floor. There was an awful smell in the utility room. We had lovely weather and was looking forward to sitting on the decking but oh my goodness it looked like it hadn't been cleaned, everywhere covered in cobwebs, so very disappointing. The windows were absolutely filthy. The staff were lovely in reception, so bar, and shop and cafe. Reasonable prices in the bar. Just a shame the lodge let it down.

Do not be fooled by accommodation images if you book through Hoseasons. We booked a Platinum Plus caravan for a 4 night break recently. The caravan we had was nothing at all like the images on the website and had no similarities whatsoever. Definitely not platinum that’s for sure. We were disappointed right from the start of our holiday and actually came home a day early. The caravan was bog standard basic and tiny. It was clean and tidy though, about the only thing going for it. The park was also very clean and tidy although it does look like it’s stuck in the 1970s. Reception staff could do with some customer service training as could the staff in the shop, however the food from the takeaway was lovely and generous and the staff in there very friendly. Will definitely not return to this park though, very tired appearance.

Stayed at one of the lodges on the Sandy Bridge site. It is a great place with a fully fitted kitchen and dining area, great beds and a living room to chill out. The main site has a great cafe (Chef's Corner) for takeaway food and a convenience store for the basic amenities. It's also in a good location, with a route to the beach across the road and the theme park and arcade nearby. I was there for Furcation, enjoyed the events, and the staff were accommodating and helpful.
