Cheap and tidy

A lovely clean, comfortable room in a remote feeling but actually really, really convenient location. Staff were very friendly & welcoming, food was delicious. Everything well priced. I'll definitely be back.

Perfect for one night budget stop-over plus the bonus of an excellent restaurant with excellent service

When reception informs you there is a problem with the heating and there wont be any hot water until 08.30, that doesn't sink in until you get to your room. One small lukewarm radiator when its' snowing out side isn't much help, when the room is already cold. We have stayed here before and had no problems, but this time was a real shock to the system. Things like putting a small eclectic heater with extra bedding wouldn't have gone a miss. Even the duvet was a summer one. Yes my wife did sleep fully clothed, and it wasn't until the morning that the room warmed up and we could have a hot shower. I will contacting The Renishaw myself and will see what they have to say.

I would have paid a lot more for a room like this, really clean with a modern bathroom. Plenty of space and well looked after and clean

The room is exactly what you'd expect for the price and bed was super comfy. Only 2 things I'd say is 1) would be nice to have a mirror in the bedroom bit not just in the bath room. It steamed up after a shower and couldn't see anything in it for a while so an option to have a mirror to actually use after a shower would be nice. 2) there was a function in the bar on the Saturday night. When I arrived I was told about it and told it may be noisy is that OK. I appreciate the heads up but if it wasn't OK it was a bit late to find out as I had no option. If they knew there would be excessive noise and the chance it would impact my stay it would have been nice to know before hand so I had the option to go somewhere else if I wanted a quite nights sleep. The above two are more comments than complaints and all round was a decent stay.

Too noisy, floors creaked and screaming kids, what a combo. Breakfast in the morning was poor standard. £5.00 for two toast with a bit of scrambled egg on the top. Good location, but I will not stay there again.

The bed was very comfortable, I slept well 😴 and everything was clean. The only critism, I could not get hot water, only tepid, I couldn't work out how to use the shower but as I only stayed 2 nights I wasn't worried. All in all I was happy with my stay

All of the staff are incredibly kind and helpful. They go above and beyond whenever we've needed recommendations or assistance with anything. The property is always clean and the dining room has delicious food made to order! The building is old, so there may be some inconsistencies between rooms, but the rooms are nicely decorated and have all of the amenities one could hope for. My husband and I have stayed here multiple times and will continue to stay at the Renishaw whenever we are able!

Had 2 rooms, one was good the other was dire. Manager unhelpful and rude... apparently it's ok to charge the same for 2 very differenr standards of room. Told us that most of the over bed lights don't work so it's not only ours. Holes in bathroom lock and bedroom walls. Spare lamps, rolls of carpet, etc stored outside our room.
