Ibis Styles Boulogne Sur Mer Centre Cathedrale Reviews

The hotel is located opposite the gate to the old town, which has a very good selection of restaurants and cafes. Access to the ramparts is very close. Free parking is available very close, but may be limited during the day in fine weather, due to visitors. The hotel does also have limited garage parking at 11 euros a day. Our room was very small, with a comfortable bed but no aircon. Not a problem in early May, but could be in a hot Summer. Shower access was challenging and could be difficult or impossible for a large person. I have a 38in waist and struggled somewhat. Continental breakfast was varied and sufficient.

I spent 10 nights (April & May 2024) and found this hotel to be very comfortable and close to all amenities and places of interest. Having the chateau right across the road was wonderful and within it were terrific restaurants. A supermarket close by was also a huge plus. The staff were very friendly and responsive when I made a request to change rooms, and also provided me with a kettle and iron without any fuss. Breakfasts were plentiful and the were rooms cleaned daily, if desired. My one and only concern was that the wifi was not secured.

Lit confortable draps confortables, belle vue mais par contre chambre froide à l'arrivée alors que demande l'heure d'arrivée, salle de bain froide même avec le chauffage et douche pas pratique de l'eau partout dans la salle de bain après utilisation. Petit dej top, personnel agréable.

The hotel is perfectly placed and has beautiful views of the cathedral .It is literally across the road from the old town. We had interconnected family rooms on the 2nd floor.The rooms are compact as are the bathrooms.Everything is spotlessly clean.The breakfast is great.This was a perfect stop over for 1 night for the Eurotunnel.It represents good value for money.All staff friendly and pleasant.Parking is 10 euros and is a bit on the tight side.However,very secure.Overall very happy with the experience.

Very handy for the old town, well situated for some nice bars and restaurants. Staff very friendly and helpful. Small cozy bar area for evenings and where breakfast is served. Rooms are very compact, particularly the bathrooms. Lift to all floors. Parking is fairly easy in surrounding streets and opposite. Breakfast was lovely, lots to choose from, very fresh and freshly squeezed orange juice. If the rooms had been a little bigger, would have scored more (bathroom is a real squeeze!) but can recommend due to its position, easy parking and location.

After reading some of the reviews of this hotel I was a little sceptical about booking, but never the less I went ahead with a booking for my family (2 adults + 2 children) with two adjoining rooms and was very satisfied with the whole experience. The hotel is conveniently located near the cathedral with good access to the A16 and plenty of parking either in the hotels own car park or on street parking which includes several pay as go charging points which are very useful for electric car drivers. The check in process was quick and easy with a gentleman called Cyrille who was friendly, polite and made us feel very welcome. The adjoining rooms were clean, comfortable and although not the largest had plenty of storage space. The beds were very comfortable and we all slept very well. There was free wi-fi throughout the hotel which when traveling with a 5 year old and an 8 year old is essential! and it worked all the time. In the evening when we retuned to the hotel we sat in the bar and outside area and enjoyed some drinks. again Cyrille was excellent and nothing was too much trouble. The buffet breakfast had a good choice and the food was fresh and well presented. The two ladies on duty were again very polite and helpful. If you are visiting Boulogne on a short break or for business I would highly recommend this hotel which I felt offered good value for money whilst not compromising on comfort or quality.

Clean hotel, nice location, very frendly staff and great breakfast

This is a great little hotel. It is close to the historic town centre, the staff are very welcoming, it charges reasonable prices, and offers good food. There is also bike storage, and good rooms (if a bit on the smaller side). I'd happily stay here again.

Basic hotel, a bit dated rooms. Wall-to-wall carpet in my room. The window in my room did not lock. However, very convenient location.

Close to the old city but that is its only plus point. Staff were not unpleasant, but that is the best that can be said. Ibis as a franchise has lost control of its member hotels. In future will find alternatives.

Very small rooms and toilet/ shower not recommend for a Lon stay

My husband had booked a “Family Suite 2 Connect Rooms Standard”, as described on the hotel website. But during check-in, the reception staff Angelique said we’d been given an “upgrade”, which we initially accepted but upon entering this room we realised it wasn’t suitable. We preferred the 2 connecting rooms originally booked and clearly stated in the booking confirmation email sent by the hotel. I immediately went down to Reception and said to Angelique we wanted the family suite we booked instead. Is it available? NO, Angelique replied. And good grief, I was suddenly faced with an irate Ibis front desk staff turning rude and argumentative, insisting that we booked just a standard room, NOT 2 connecting rooms. WE were the one at fault! She was ABSOLUTELY sure she was right because her computer showed the standard room. A mistake was made by the hotel because I knew the hotel had sent my husband booking confirmation for the “family suite with 2 connecting rooms.” But not only did I, the customer, got no help whatsoever from Reception to address and fix the urgent room issues, Angelique treated me with appalling rudeness. I was left speechless and went up to re-confirm our booking with my husband. Hubby came down to show Angelique the relevant email on his phone. Now no longer able to argue against the written evidence, she finally gave us the 2 connecting rooms, which she said were unavailable 5 minutes ago but now available?? What was unacceptable and very disturbing was that despite obviously having made a mistake, Angelique never apologised. Although the hotel gave us a big discount at check-out, I experienced the worse check-in customer service at this Ibis Styles that ruined 3 days of my vacation staying here. My husband and I will stay far away from Ibis from now on.
