This is a lovely hotel! The staff are very friendly and considerate - when I was there I was a solo traveller and they had a wedding on, as I wasn't part of the wedding party they made sure I had a room away from the festivities. The room had a fantastic view and there was no noise from the wedding. There weren't many power sockets but you rarely have everything you want in life! Great stay, I'll definitely return one day.

We use this pub quite often for Sunday lunch, which is always good. So this time we headed there on a weekday. The pub was fairly quiet so had a good choice of tables. Service was prompt and friendly. My husband opted for a burger and after changing my mind I decided on fish and chips. The food arrived after a reasonable wait ie sufficient time for it to be freshly prepared. The burger was thick and juicy, great fluffy chips and a side of lovely crunchy coleslaw. The cod was enormous, think whale on a plate! with gorgeous crunchy batter, great chips and plenty of tartare sauce. So pleased that this place serves their sauces in an individual dish- no nasty sachets or grubby bottles. Loved it!, will be back very soon

Superb location, close to Brighton rail station and on a variety of major bus routes. The service was excellent and the staff friendly and approachable. The room itself was very spacious, modern and comfortable. There wasn't a spec of dust to be seen anywhere and everything was very well laid out. The bathroom was a good size with a very large shower, again, all totally spotless. We were only 1 floor above ground level and even though we were so central, we hardly heard any noise from the street and certainly nothing from the other guests around us. A very comfy bed made for a great night's sleep and the breakfast was amazing! Thank you to all staff involved in providing such an enjoyable and pleasant stay. If given the opportunity, we will definitely be back.
