It was a bit difficult as our flight was delayed and we arrived in the dark. But eventually found our room.

The whole area looked like a building site. The room we were allocated was dark and musky smelling. A distinct mould smell was obvious. The room looked nothing like the web phohotos. The TV didn't work and all attempts to get it to work failed. Eric the manager agreed to a refund because of the issues. BUT he later reneged on that. He even got abusive. The back packer accommodation down the road offers a bettr experience. Do not book this accommodation!

Not sure if it was because I was only staying 1 night but I was given a room that was sub-par. Lino on the floor held together with gaffer tape, the bathroom was mouldy - looked like they had tried to paint over it. Towels seemed clean but old and scratchy with stains and frayed edges. A used piece of soap left in the shower - no other toiletries. Every mug and glass in the kitchenette was filthy - the mugs had brown caked on dirt, the glasses still had lip and finger prints on them. I didn’t see any other room so I have no comparison and was not given any reason when I told them as I left. I expected more for my $100, was disappointed.

Cairns Esplanade is just in front, so the place is good for exploring the area. Its beside the Cairns Hospital, so not ideal if one wants a quiet place. The place provided us with an affordable place to sleep. Other than that, you get what you pay for.
