Holiday Inn Express & Suites Charlotte - South End Reviews

This hotel is like so many other chain hotels. It’s in a good location and is well maintained. Some dusting of table legs in parts of the common area is needed. The staff were very personable and helpful. We arrived early and were able to check in immediately. The included breakfast is standard chain hotel quality; adequate but not great. A vegan might not have many options. What was nice is the room had a mini refrigerator and a safe.

This is a very nice hotel for being a mid-range priced hotel. The lobby is very nice and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff was very helpful and friendly. I liked that in order to get to the upper floors of the hotel you needed your key to get the elevator to go up. So they are big on safety. You need to pay for parking. $15 for 24 hours I believe. Not a big deal. We were able to walk to a local restaurant which was great because we had a long day driving and were starving when we got there. The breakfast was good. The breakfast staff was very nice and helpful. I would totally recommend this hotel.

Just wanted to give a big Thank You to Holiday Inn Express & Suites Charlotte- South End. We had our friends daughters Wedding the end of June and we were coming from Italy and our flight was Cancelled out of Rome and were not able to make the wedding and our reservation had to be cancelled at this Hotel. They were so understanding and they did NOT charge us for the cancellation . I have never had a hotel do that before. They were really so nice and understanding. Big Thumbs up.

Decent hotel with awesome staff. They go above the beyond to make sure guests are comfortable, shout out to Tzipporah! Free hotel breakfast and workable gym. Clean and simple rooms and lots of restaurants around. Worthy of staying if office is around.

I can’t say enough about this hotel. Holiday Inn express south end Charlotte is by far my favorite IGH hotel so far. It is beautiful, clean quiet and the staff is extremely kind and helpful. I was staying for a few days because my granddaughter was impatient at the hospital. I can’t say negative about the visit. I can’t wait to go back.

We had a wonderful stay here last weekend. The hotel is in perfect location and walking distance from everything in South End. The hotel and rooms were clean and well maintained. The staff was helpful at all times. Breakfast was exactly want we wanted to start our day.

I arrived after having one hectic day traveling. Bailey and Tzipporan were at the front desk when there were some clerical issues with booking the room. I have to say, after a long day, they were so patient and kind. They corresponded with my management team to correct the situation as quickly as possible while still checking in on me and keeping me updated with the process. They went above and beyond to make sure that I was comfortable. For example, finding me in the lobby to give me my room key because I'm sure they could tell I was wiped. Thank you to the training and management team--and a big thanks to Bailey and Tzipporan for giving me a soft ending to my day while filling it with warmth.

Great hotel super nicely decorated, nice staff, on site parking (no valet). Rooms were very comfortable and clean. Breakfast is included but because they close so early we didn't get to it. I wish they would extend the time so people can take advantage of what they paid for. Hotel is not located in the middle of the action it requires a bit of walking. I didn't feel safe in the area at night and wish the parking was monitored since lobby is located on 2nd floor.

My wife and I were visiting the area when she became ill with a “stomach bug”. We inquired about staying an extra day…no problem. I came down with the same bug the next day and asked to extend. I am 77 with multiple medical problems and was so weak I was having a hard time getting around. So sorry…no can do…fully booked. Unless we would pay for our room and the room of the displaced guest. We struggled but stayed elsewhere. I have arrived at hotels in the past that were overbooked and they always arranged for a stay at a nearby property (at my expense, of course). This hotel could do the same. PS The room was very noisy with thin floors, street noise and train whistles nearby. I will never stay at an IHG property again.

I’ve stayed at this hotel many times since it opened a few years ago in Charlotte’s trendy South End neighborhood. This Holiday Inn Express has a wonderful local vibe and feels much more upscale and boutique than it actually is. There is SO MUCH to do, see, drink, eat, and explore within mere steps of the hotel. I highly recommend this property to anyone exploring Charlotte.

Went to Charlotte NC for an NFL game and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Charlotte - South End. Received an email the day before confirming everything and check in was very smooth. The room was very clean, HVAC worked great, plenty of channels on the TV and overall exceeded all expectations. Breakfast the next morning was great although my wife does not like cheese on her eggs. We were allowed to keep the vehicle in their parking garage while we went to the game. I believe we have found our go to hotel while in Charlotte NC.
