Arrived at 1am and had to do a 10 minute walk to Hotel Horitzo which we already knew about. We met a lovely receptionist that sorted out our keys, took our tax payment and did the E200 authorisation on the card. When we we back to the appartments the vending machine had barely any stock and every thing was shut. The sofa bed was not made up, so wearily we climbed into bed after making it. The matress was so thin that the bars from the sofa pushed through and I was in pain and barely slept. In the morning we awoke to a massive stench of drains, the spare pillows did not have pillow cases and there was BLOOD spatters on the curtains. I went back to reception to complain. Another lovely receptionist moved us up to the 8th floor, this time there was no smell, a clean apartment and a comfortable sofa bed. The manager popped in to see us which was a nice touch. I showed him the balcany as the glass divider was cracked and he already knew about it. I did some shopping and we settled in. But there was a big ***** of the kitchen unit missing, no hot water and only one bath towel. Also when I tried to plug the kettle in the base was all melted - really dangerous. Finally I discovered the hob did not work! Not great for self catering I went back to reception in the other hotel (there was no reception at all in the apartment block - just an empty office). They replaced the kettle, towel and fixed the water. But the did not fix the hob and had no spare apartments to move us to, and was very apologetic about it. I filled in the online survey asking for a free meal as I could not cook anything and I was ignored. The area where the apartment block is on the beach, near the caravan parks and is about 15-20 walk (all flat) into the main town. There is a very expensive little supermarket nearby and a bar. But lots of closed bars and restaurants, it was like a ghost town. It maybe because it was April and things werent open yet? The views from every apartment face the sea and they are spectacular. There is a little playground and a couple of nice restaurants about 5 minutes away. Although the staff were genuinely lovely, it was painful to keep trapsing down everytime I discovered a problem. I wouldnt return to these apartments, but may consider staying at the hotel puely based on how nice the staff were? Note: the E200 deposit was back in thr bank account the day after returning.

First the good stuff...... The room was great, clean with a great balcony for beach watching and view. The walk in shower was the best I have ever had, great water pressure from all 4 outlets overhead, horizontal top shoulders, hand washer and horizontal for the lower regions........ Staff all very helpful. Now for the bad bits....... Air conditioning was iffy but did work..... No extractor fan in the bathroom which you would think was necessary for a 4 star rating? Breakfasts were good large selection but if you are like me and like a good Irish breakfast you will be disappointed..... The toaster does not toast your bread no matter what settings you use so you end up with warm bread after putting it through 4 or 5 times....... then you go to get your breakfast.... the only plates are side plates 6 inch diameter and ice cold so by the time you get to eat your breakfast every thing is cold..... ridiculous.... try fitting an Irish breakfast on a side plate???? We had lunch only once in our weeks stay and it was very poor would not recommend.

We had a most lovely time in Blanes especially staying at this fabulous hotel! Rooms are amazing , staff delightful , location near shops and beach . Couldn’t be better, September is a great time to visit very few tourists and mostly Spanish voices around us . I had an exceptional stay at Petit Palau during five days recently. The whole staff was friendly, sincere and always welcoming, including the breakfast and cleaning personnel. There are many things to praise, but a few things deserve to be highlighted. First of all the bed, it was fantastic, super comfortable! The shower was modern and had a luxurious touch to it. The overall cleanliness of the hotel should be mentioned, it was absolutely spotless. The breakfast was varied, delicious and healthy with an assortment of fresh fruits and local produce in addition to all else that was included. Lastly, since Blanes was blessed with warm, sunny spring weather during my stay, I had the pleasure of enjoying it from my private 6th floor balcony with rooftop views! My thanks to Esther, Nil and the whole staff for the excellent service, and see you next time! Best regards, Mitja Lehto

I have very mixed feelings about Hotel HTop Amatista in Lloret de Mar. This year was our fourth stay in the last 10 years. We keep choosing this hotel because of its excellent location, less than 5 minutes from the fantastic Fenals beach. This year, the hotel underwent renovations, with everything painted and some elements replaced. However, the doors were not replaced, and there were visible drilled holes in some places. We received a free upgrade to a two-room suite (as htop members booked rooms directly from htop), which was excellent and had no faults. The large, bright room featured new, modern equipment, a large balcony with two sun beds, two chairs, and a table. Daily cleaning was excellent, and rooms were cleaned on time. good quality bed linen. The real disaster was the food. Breakfast and lunch were edible but minimally acceptable. Dinner, however, was a different story. The selection was minimal, almost everything was poorly prepared, and dishes constantly ran out, requiring us to wait. On our second evening, there was no meat at all, only cheap, poorly cooked fish and chicken of the same quality. The desserts were inedible, there were very few vegetables, and they were of low quality. The bread was always stale. Leftovers from lunch were used for dinner, which was sometimes dangerous. For example, during the day, there was something like guacamole—an avocado paste with raw chopped onions. In the evening, the leftovers were simply spread on poorly cut bread. Products with raw onions should not be stored all day. Additionally, the tables were wiped with the same cloth, just pushing the dirt around without using any cleaning agents. Overall, the staff of the reception and hotel was friendly and willing to help, but this did not apply to the restaurant. At the entrance, we were greeted by a rude woman. (I don't know her name but we were September 15-19, so hotel management can easily identify if want) Meals were organized in two shifts, but entering people from the second shift depended on whether the people from the first shift had finished, so sometimes we had to wait. After enduring this ”splendor” for two days, we approached the hotel manager. To her credit, she refunded us for the full board without any questions. In summary, if you are willing to buy only breakfast and eat elsewhere, which is more expensive but possible, I recommend it and you will have a great experience. Otherwise, definitely not and avoid
Me and my hubby and 2 teens are just back from a fantastic week staying is Aparthotel Costa Encantada! There is no perfect hotel exist but I couldn't fault this one! This hotel have something for everyone, the facilities are fab! Tennis court, football and basket ball court, gym , spa, shop with essential, game room which is good if you have teenagers with you. Pools? Yes I admit The pools water was freezing(early October which is understandable) but the indoor pool was nice and warm ,so again there is always some solution. When comes to food I don't understand some complains in other reviews, I was walking stuffed like an elephant LOL always something to please yourself. You can't expect food to be tailored just for you, as we all have different taste. I like cold breakfast but you can also have a hot full English everyday if you wish. Sometimes, I think, some people would even want to have a heated fresh salad or carrots LOL. The staff was fantastic , very helpful and they tried to do everything possible to please you! I must admit when we arrived in the middle of the night we missed the meal but they rescheduled it for the last day which saved us the expense to buy sandwiches for our travel or meal on the airport. Also we got to a small dated room, but it was our fault as we chose wrong one while making the reservation. Fortunately the staff found for us nice suite without any problem, it was solved in 5 minutes and we got beautiful modern and specious double bedroom apartment, which was perfect for us, no neighbours and with the mountain view, total privacy. It was an amazing stay there, we loved every minute. Thank you for looking after as, we will definitely come back! :)
