La Verniaz et Ses Chalets Reviews

An idyllic setting in the heart of nature, la Verniaz is a green oasis just a stone's throw from Evian. From Evian, you can get there on foot, by funicular when it's in season, or using the resort's shuttles. Both shuttles and funicular are free! A manege with horses is just a few meters from reception. The bar and hotel staff are friendly, smiling and welcoming, which is far from a given these days! We've known la Verniaz for years and go there regularly; it's always a pleasure and a lovely romantic getaway!

Great room, service and breakfast. Dogs are also welcome, which makes it the best choice for us in this beautiful region.

The hotel is well located. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfast was well balanced and all products fresh. Employees, very kind. Overall, very good.

Having stayed recently at the Verniaz Hotel for a week during the Evian Championship for nearly a week, I am regrettable giving this hotel a rather poor 2star rating. The rationale for this is based on a number of experiences and observations as well as speaking to colleagues who stayed there at the same time, some of them in the chalets and others who stayed like me in the main building. Rooms: Overall dated decor and structurally in urgent need of investment. My room rate for the week was an astonishing EUR 280 per room per night and frankly for this one can and should deserve much better. F & B: breakfast in incredibly poor. During a week with high occupancy due to aforementioned event, one would expect things would in order. Breakfast offering was poor and possible worse than a 3 star Ibis. Many items were not replenished, cooked breakfast items not being replaced. When ordering eggs, one morning they said they had run out of eggs (really in a hotel?) and the next morning when making the same request the answer was "not sure if we have the right pot/pan to boil your eggs". Incredibly poor. The photos below show the poor state of affairs on Friday morning and after 20 mins waiting still none of the dishes being replenished. Bar was not opened at start of our stay, later in the week it was open, but one evening trying to get a nightcap after a dinner in town, we waited for 10 mins in the bar, but no staff to be found so we left. The grounds/garden are poorly maintained, like the main hotel facilities and in urgent need of investment. I hope the new owners (Evian Resort) will start his soon as at the prices they charge, its simply not acceptable.

Very dissapointing place. No bar open or food available. Had to go to the sister hotel down the hill. Reception was away from the hotel itself. Very strange set up. Breakfast was very basic. Would not rush back.

Worth visiting. Rustic and historic accommodation with modern touches. Comfortable and good value. Summer oasis, quiet, well maintained grounds and excellent kitchen and French cuisine. Close to golf and tennis facilities. Quiet pool area in tranquil part of property. Would stay again and again.

The reception and whole staff here are wonderful and will help you with anything. Answered any questions we had. They have a free shuttle service which helped us out the most!

Stayed here for one night with my wife after two nights in an another highly rated Evian hotel. This was a bit better - smaller, more beautiful and more charming. Easy to park your car for free outside the hotel and it is a short 5-minute drive to the waterfront in Evian. Nice pool area, excellent breakfast in a lovely setting and fantastic and personalized service. Can warmly recommend a trip to Le Temple Du Fromage and AN-rafting, both within 20 minutes from the hotel.

A fantastic place for a family weekend get away. Set in a beautiful and quiet setting on the outskirts of Evian. Fantastic facilities and very friendly staff. The on-site restaurant is excellent.

Hotel based in lovely grounds, friendly staff, good choice at breakfast. Walking distance to the train that takes you directly into the centre of Evian - free of charge.

Pure charm. An exceptional site with a splendid view of Lake Geneva. The rooms are bright, refined and spacious. The originality of this hotel is also linked to the kindness of the staff and all their little touches. A more than pleasant experience, essential.

comfortable chalets, clean, warm and equipped with everything you need for an excellent stay! I highly recommend spending a few days at Le Verniaz, I spent my holiday with my family and we had a great time

Very relaxing establishment located in a beautiful environment with discreet but available staff. Remarkable cleanliness. A downside: is located in the town of NEUVECELLE and not EVIAN when searching for vehicle GPS, which causes a few extra kilometers

Perfect stay! All that is missing is a person at the pool bar and perhaps room service to complete the splendor of this establishment.
