Amazing rooms.. me and my partner were fortunate to get the room with a jacuzzi bath which made the weekend we stayed super romantic. Close to seafront which was great for evening strolls.

We stayed Wednesday till Friday The room decor was so dated with embossed wallpaper on the ceiling We had to get the staff to change the shower head as no pressure The TV was that small it felt like We was watching a tablet I believe Auschwitz concentration camp had better amenities than the hotel Must say the night staff was helpful but the day staff didn't care n didn't speak much English Will never go back

Formerly called Comfort Hotel & now called The Dolphin Hotel disgusting hotel Trip with Shearings Coaches First impression I got when I went in garden 3 bags of Dog poo left on patio. Carpet dirty and stained in my room.Very bad paint work on skirting boards. Lamp shade base torn, corner of bath rotted wood at corner. Food disgusting wouldn’t give it to a dog.Chips cremated looked as if they was cooked 10 times over. Soup thick and had to wait for bread roll to come after 10 mins.Untrained very young waitresses.Ordered Fishcake chips and peas, came with broccoli and carrots which I don’t eat, told they was no peas, sent it back where they just scraped broccoli and carrots off and returned it to me. Ploughman’s lunch for main disgusting and had to ask for bread again Hotel flooded second night by rain, restaurant got flooded. Stay here at your own risk but don’t say you haven’t been warned. They need to pay you to stay here.

Bed bugs in the bed, staff very rude. Had to leave the hotel at midnight and drive home. Was told the room would be refunded and I was to call back about compensation. Manager ignored my calls All day and then left a note with receptionist saying no refund. They told me it was the first case but looking at reviews on another website they were already aware. This is disgusting and something needs to be done about it. They are still taking booking although they are aware of the problem - trust me stay away as it a lot of stress and worry thinking you have brought them home with you and it’s going to be very expensive to correct if they did manage to get into the house / car even with all the measures we have taken. Avoid avoid avoid.
Response from Property: Thank you for your review. As I said in our telephone conversation we have stripped the room completely including carpets and have found nothing in there. We offered to move you to another room as at the time we could not thoroughly check the room. You then said they will be in your clothes so we offered to wash and dry them for you. It was your decision to leave the hotel and a refund has been given which i stated on the phone to you so I do not know why you are saying a refund has been refused. You then proceeded to try and blackmail us by saying if you did not receive compensation you were going to EHO, the local MP and the papers and would demonstrate outside of the hotel! Bed bugs are carried on people and we take every measure in the hotel to make sure our rooms are free from them.

No heating on in November. Cold rooms windows streaming in condensation. Complaints from all guests so given small heaters which overloaded the electric and kept tripping out so sockets didn't work.only two sockets in room. Rusty soap dish in bathroom looked more like an ashtray. Run down hotel needs updating. Breakfast okish only one toaster working but took ages to toast anaemic sausages didn't look cooked.

I can’t believe the negative reviews about this place .I compare my luck on finding this hotel to a lottery win .Not the jackpot , maybe 5 numbers and the bonus ball on a double roll over week.On approach to the entrance of the hotel /establishment, I was greeted by a red carpet .I quite literally felt like a film star.Well folks , Hollywood didn’t end there ! We only booked a slandered room but sweeet mama what a room , sea view , kettle , a lamp , a TV , soap , toilet roll , towels …..intact far too many luxury items to list .I opted for the cooked breakfast …..two words …Jamie and Oliver . A stones throw to the beach (and I throw like a girl) this gem is right in the heart of ‘Yarm Vegas’ as I call it it.Thank you to the staff and also Bob and Winston who fixed the lamp bulbs for us .See you again soon x

Arrived and stood at reception on my crutches. 3 staff members in attendance talking. I’m completely ignored. Had to interrupt their chat to be rudely told to wait as they are doing a “handover” No warm greeting and no apology. Their hospitality skills went down hill from there. I couldn’t quite figure out who was the rudest. Room was grim with bugs and an incessant electrical buzzing coming from the hallway. Has a real Fawlty towers feel to it but without the intended comedy. Perhaps a rebrand to the Cold Comfort Inn?

After reading some reviews I was worried but what a pleasant surprise. Yes the hotel is older and could do with some updating but the staff and comfy bed more than made up for it. The staff made sure we had a lovely time and helped us with everything we needed. Jack the chef is young but is an excellent cook. The food was absolutely delicious. The garden is relaxing and has chickens in it! We will now definitely be regular guests.

The property was dirty and smelt damp. Our bath had no running hot water meaning we couldnt bath ourselves or child. Not ideal after a day of rain. Not to mention the heating wasn’t on so we were all cold and wet. Carpet is filthy I only took my shoes off to get in the bed. We was promised a refund from reception due to the property facilities being unsatisfactory. Yet to receive any refund or call, and have had to call and email them ourselves which also have received no response from. Awful hotel and service do not stay here!

Clean, comfortable bed. No problems with hot water regarding baths or showers. Very decent, friendly staff. Location great for free parking, before 2pm. Afterwards all streets are full. On the way home today, I received a call telling me that i left my phone in the room. So honest staff. But when explained how far i was on way home, down south. The man said he would post it, recorded to me, no bother of cost or anything. 10min walk to main yarmouth pier. Would def stay again as ive had so many let down hotels in the sea front area. Very happy to say this was not one of them. Staff are a credit to the hotel.

Good bits, the beds were comfy and bedding and towels white and clean, large tv on wall . Bad bits, room very dated , carpet stained and dirty looking, wouldn't walk on it without shoes on, room smelt stale and like a wet dog had been in there , bathroom taps wouldn't turn off even when they wouldn't turn anymore ,we eventually managed to get them to stop. But for £63 for 3 of us for the night we couldn't really complain , glad it was just the 1 night though

Stayed here on a Shearings holiday. The hotel didn't have enough accessible rooms to meet the need - several guests had requested ground floor rooms but there weren't enough to go round, which made it difficult for some. The dining room is in the basement; a stairlift is available for those who need it. There are no lifts in the place, so it's not really ideal for people with mobility issues. Our room was clean and was serviced daily, and the bathroom functioned as it should. The evening meal menu was rather limited, though breakfast was fine. Wobbly dining table meant someone got a full pint of beer spilt over them one evening. I requested that the table be fixed or changed before we returned for breakfast the next day - it wasn't. So I had to refuse to use it and argue for a different table. Staff are mostly young and seem very inexperienced or untrained, which means that even the smallest query or request becomes a major challenge. Basic things: bread rolls don't arrive until the soup is nearly finished, then you have to ask for butter which hasn't been put out, causing waitress to growl "Oh, they've done nothing, have they!" Both the reception desk and the bar are usually staffed by a single person, which means guests have to wait until he / she deals with one before moving to the other. Frustrating when we were instructed to leave our keys at reception before going out, as we would be charged £200 for lost keys. Most things could be put right with a bit of thought, but investing in some training of the staff would be top of my list.
