Room very clean and quiet. Slight bar noise Friday and Saturday nights, but not disruptive. Location excellent for a number of activities and eateries. Would recommend and would stay there again without hesitation.

Beautiful hotel, great location. Comfortable rooms and great service- staff were exceptional . Food was fantastic, both for the provided breakfasts and dinners. Parking across the road was convenient for day trips, though did a lot of walking as the hotel was central to everything.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, just a short walk from the CBD. Runners will love the nearby tracks starting right outside the hotel. The room was spacious, clean, and equipped with all the essentials. The beds were comfortable and cozy. Parking is convenient for those with a car. The highlight was the breakfast, offering a variety of great options.

Every single staff member was fantastic. Thank you to them going out of their way to look after us. The breakfasts are yum and a wonderful inclusion. The location is amazing, and having your own pub on site is great fun. Only wish the rooms had more pictures/hangings on the walls (they are a bit bare) and that there were more gluten free options in the restaurant. Will definitely go back.

We stayed here our last two nights in Hobart in a family room. This was very close to Salamanca markets and waterfront area. Breakfast was included in price and good value. The room was clean and spacious and we had a great view of the water. We did have to pay for parking across the road which we already knew before booking but it was worth paying to park there in a secure area.

Our first time in Tasmania and Hobart and we were delighted to find out how central Customs House Waterfront Hotel is. The hotel has its own restaurant but is so conveniently located for the bars and restaurants around Hobart. We arrived and were looking forward to a stay in a pub with history. They were kind enough to upgrade us from our original room choice (standard room with a harbour view) to some level of suite. We wandered though the corridor and when we first walked in it was pitch black and there were two single beds with a towel on each - I wasn't immediately clear on the upgrade! Then we turned the light on and spotted the staircase. Upstairs was a big bed and huge space decorated really nicely. There was a sofa with a TV on the wall, and by the bed there was a second TV. There were sliding patio doors out to a good size balcony with chairs and table. Sadly the weather wasn't great all the time we were there to use it, but the harbour views were amazing and watching the world go by was relaxing. Bathroom was pretty standard, considering how impressive the rest of the space was. The bed was so comfortable and really made it easy to have a lovely sleep. The twin beds downstairs would be ideal if you had children with you. We had breakfast included and it was a really good breakfast. I'm fussy with breakfast, but there were several options I really liked including the avocado on toast and waffles with berries. They make you one 'fancy' coffee in with the price, but you can have unlimited instant coffee, tea or juice. This does mean getting your Nescafe sachet, using a pot of hot water and mixing yourself in little cups.

Great location & greeting by receptionist on arrival. Enjoyed sitting outside under heater with a glass of wine overlooking harbour. Thank you Shay for tentative restaurant service. Having breakfast included in our stay was a bonus. Great staff in hotel & restaurant. Will definitely return.
Response from Property: Hi Jayner Thanks heaps for your review! Shay is a superb staff member and an absolute asset to our breakfast team! We hope to see you again soon!

This is a lovely hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We also stayed at Hadleys prior which was reserved and formal with average service whereas this is family, friendly and has exceptional service. The standard rooms are excellent value when ordered direct - room 19 was a beauty with exceptional light and views.

We patronised the restaurant/hotel. Can only give top marks. A wonderful experience. Our server, Josh, a wonderful young man, made us feel that we were the most important in the restaurant. The meal was excellent, well prepared, expertly cooked & well presented. Could not fault anything about the dining experience. Did I mention Josh & how he tendered our table. Well done. Big thumbs up.

Stayed here for two nights at the start of my tour around Tasmania. Firstly the hotel is very very handy for the SkyBus from the airport which drops you at Brook Street Pier across the road from the hotel. The bus stop for the hop-on hop-off red decker tour is also there. The ground floor of the hotel is a bar and restaurant, and it is obvious that the restaurant is popular with locals and tourists as it was full when I arrived. The hotel reception closes at 8 pm but they email you beforehand to ask what time you are arriving as they can make arrangements for people arriving later than 8. I checked in quickly - as the building is historic there are a few small staircases as even on one floor there are slightly different levels. However I am sure that if you asked for an accessible room they could find one that would not involve stairs. There is a lift to the first and second floors but not to the third floor. My room was large and welcoming when I arrived. There was a king size bed with clean white linen and decent pillows. The air-conditioning can cool or heat and there are heaters specifically in the shower room. There was a small fridge, kettle and tea/coffee making supplies but no safe. There was also an open unit for hanging clothes with some small shelves but not much more in the way of storage. The flat screen TV over the fridge can be adjusted so you can watch it comfortably from the bed or from the small sofa at the end of the room. And it is a smart TV with Stan, Netflix and Prime all available, that was not the norm in most of the hotels in Tasmania that I stayed in. There was also a washer and dryer on the first floor along with an iron for use by guests. My room rate included breakfast and I had an excellent breakfast on both mornings that I stayed there. There was a QR code in the room which suggested I could order drinks or food from the restaurant to be delivered. I really enjoyed staying at this hotel and tried (but failed) to change my travel plans so I could stay here again on the way back through Hobart at the end of my trip.

We stayed in Room 18 which is a standard twin room with a queen and a twin bed. One had to take the small elevator to the 2nd floor then walk down half a level using the stairs. Our room was facing the harbor but a tree blocked the view. The street lights from the pier shined into the room but the hotel has black out curtains. We loved the free breakfast from their restaurant which included your choice of entrée and drink from the standard breakfast menu. If you have an early tour departure, the reception gave out a to-go breakfast box of cereal, milk, oj, and breakfast bar. Housekeeping came every day to empty the trash, make the beds, and replenished the toiletries. We love the location of this historic hotel as it is close to everything, including day tour pick up points (usually across the street at Brooke St. Pier bus stop). There is a bit of street noise during the weekend when people drive on the main street at night. We stayed a total of 5 nights and would stay here again when visiting Hobart.
Response from Property: Dear Happykoabug, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on your recent stay at our hotel in Hobart. We had the best week in Hobart with lifelong friends . The hotel position is fantastic , rooms are really nice and the included breakfast was great. There are some down sides unfortunately , the weekend nights were really noisy with drag racing, screaming girls and fighting boys. When you are paying $300 a night it’s annoying !! The blonde girl in reception was very nice and helpful, the bar staff really need some “ hospitality “ training though as almost all of them had no personality whatsoever sadly. When you are staying in house for almost a week you really notice this . The absolute standout amongst the staff was Shae who served us many mornings with our breakfast. Always with a smile and so very pleasant , she was pure delight ! I would stay again but choose the cheaper rooms as there wasn’t much benefit to the dearer ones with all the lack of sleep . Such a great position only 2 minutes walk to Salamanca markets and across to the ferry to Mona, and a few minutes walk to the Visitors Information Centre and lots of great places to eat .

Rooms a bit dated but clean but the hotel itself in a very good central location. Walking distance to Salamanca market and lots of lovely restaurants although the one in the hotel is really good and bar meals are available as well. A popular place for sure.

Fantastic location. Directly across the road from the Brook Street Pier, which is a pick up point for many tours. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Waterfront Superior room, which was warm spacious and had a balcony that overlooked the waterfront. The morning sun coming through the balcony doors in the morning was stunning. Only negative was when enjoying the delights of the local entertainment, the loft stairs were a little hard to navigate.
