We are a group of 9 persons was booking 6 rooms in that hotel on New Year Eve (3 nights). At first we paid double tax. We had a hotel voucher from Boocking.com already including all taxes (we checked it!). But the hotel assured us that we have to pay more. OK. We paid. In the rooms was cold. The water in the shower is almost cold, the bed linens and towels are very threadbare. There were no warm blankets. The toilet wasn't functioning in one of our rooms. We were offered a bucket. We have asked many times to repair toilet or give us another room. Another room was provided only at last night. Two rooms didn't lock inside. The doors and locks are very unreliable. It can be opened with a fingernail. We ordered a taxi (three cars for nine people, wrote all information on a piece of paper and said about it two times - in english and spanish). As a result, only two cars were ordered and they was lost on the way.) We urgently needed to go to the bus station and we ordered the taxi for 9 persons again... so what ??? A ”minivan” arrived... but for 7 persons!!!))) Two of us were forced to siting on the floor of the car. All our requests was satisfied somehow... In hope that we will leave soon. Amigo Suites ... never again!!!

Our room was a bit like a simple room but the bed was nice, clean, wireless network, all work. The staff was very helpful. The street was noisy. The subway was very close, the city center and many places to eat, and some nice pedestrian streets were also very close

The Novotel Mexico City Centro Histórico is a new hotel. Its newness shows in any number of ways, both good and bad. First the good: Staff were all friendly. And my room was shiny new and free of signs of wear. Everything in the room worked perfectly. It is true that the room was rather small and that the view was mostly of a blank wall. Since I was by myself and did not spend much time in the room during the day, these latter issues didn’t bother me very much. There were, however, some issues that were also perhaps related to the hotel’s newness. The cleaning staff didn’t empty the wastebasket on the first day and didn’t replenish the Nespresso pods on the second. Perhaps they should start working from a checklist … ? Also, breakfast was only available half an hour later than advertised. And, oddly, only certain guests were offered omelettes. And, as someone who doesn’t eat meat, I was bothered by a cheese-and-luncheon-meat plate on which the cheese and luncheon meat were piled on top of each other. I would also have appreciated labels on the four stew-like dishes on offer—I couldn’t tell what they contained. There is also the issue of billing. When I checked in at 3 p.m., I was asked to pay the entire bill—no problem there. But, when I arrived in my room, I found an e-mail from hotel management informing me that, because the hotel was extra busy, I’d already been charged for day 1. It’s true that I’d opted for a “flexible” rate which required me to agree to pay for the first day whether I showed up or not, but it was a little startling to be charged for a no-show before the earliest possible check-in time—and then charged again when I checked in. It took a week for the double charge to disappear from my credit-card statement. I can’t believe Accor would have approved of this billing procedure. The thing that most bothered me about the hotel was the absence of a minibar. The TripAdvisor website—and also the websites of several booking agencies—all claim that rooms in the Novotel Mexico City Centro Histórico have minibars. The Accor website, I’ll admit, doesn’t. But I guess I’ve come to expect that hotels of a certain class would have minibars. And I missed having one, not for overpriced drinks, but for the groceries I bought. I wasn’t, in other words, very enthusiastic about the Novotel Mexico City Centro Histórico, although I acknowledge that, with a few changes, it could most definitely be turned into a very good hotel.

There are no disposable toiletries or slippers in the room. You have to buy them at your own expense. The room is quite big. There is no convenience store near the hotel. I have made a reservation before. Due to the flight rescheduling, I checked in one day later. I couldn't find the information on the computer. I again Book a room yourself on the spot! This kind of hotel can only be called a makeshift hotel when traveling. It can only match our domestic hotels and cannot be called a hotel.

I stayed here for quite a long while unfortunately, so I have a pretty good grasp on how this hotel runs. And I wouldn't return unless big changes are made. PROS: --price --breakfast included --pets allowed --lobby decor was cool CONS: --wifi doesn't work for more than a few minutes here and there --water takes almost 10 minutes to get warm --shower only has 1/2 door and gets water all over bathroom floor --all of the wooden trim along base of walls was off or falling off --stains on the new towels --supposed to get 2 waters/day, usually didn't happen --had to ask for more toilet paper --they don't like to clean your room some days and never clean it at the same time --room was hard to breathe in after they did ”clean” because they spray your bedding with harsh chemicals every time so it ”smells clean” --takes forever to be served at breakfast (only one employee) and always got things we never asked for or never received at least one thing we did ask for --top blanket on bed worn and had rough patches --no outside food/drinks are allowed even though the options and service within the hotel for dining isn't good --our travel-sized lotion in the bathroom was used and 1/2 gone already --walls are thin, easy to hear rooms next to you --rude if you ask for room to be cleaned, for new towels, etc. --no room service or laundry service options *not a con, but a tip: you need pesos daily so you can tip the server at breakfast as it's expected since it's not a buffet-style breakfast
