Great hotel which has kept it's grandeur. The room was spotless and the decor was minimalistic which was in keeping with hotel. It was a great price and I will stay again. Staff were friendly.

Lovely hotel with everything we needed.

Good hotel right at the station. Arrived a bit before check in and dropped bags off. Was told my room was ready but would be £30 extra to go in early. I understand if you want to book an early check in it should cost but if your rooms sitting ready i seems a bit of a waste asking you to come back. The only real let down

Not good at all which was such a shame as from the photos you expect a bit grandeur. Nothing grand bar the reception! This is a tiny old, dilapidated hotel. Lifts broke, beds tiny even the upgraded we stayed in, mind the rooms are so small a normal bed wouldn't fit. Baths with holes in and fixed with silicone but still dirty sharp edge, no toilet brush so your partner gets full view of your breakfast. Come on B&M sell them for£2.50. Breakfast was lovely first day, 2nd day people waiting for just about everything, juice, eggs, sausages etc this is at 9.30 just to be told there will be nothing more replenished, and asked to choose an alternative 😀 check out terrible too with only one lift and the staff with big buckets and trolleys going from -1 to 4 constantly there was no room for guests. Safe to say for the price it costs to stay there you could stay in many better places offering much more.

We got a bargain on this hotel it was well worth the money. It’s an old hotel but our room Was clean. We didn’t use the pool Facilities. The staff were really nice and let us leave our bags after checkout while we shopped but there was one lady on reception who just ignored us and kept us waiting a while even though she knew we were there. Would definatley stay again and recommend

Had a really nice stay. Meeting up with friends. Staff in bar and restaurant were lovely. It was very cold for our stay in January but hotel always warm and cosy Hotel is right by the station So ideal for us.

I really enjoy staying in older-style hotels, and you really can't beat a four-poster bed. The breakfast was great too. I felt a bit like Michael Portillo on one of his Great Train Journeys, but without the colourful trousers.

Everything was absolutely lovely, the hotel is so handy for everything. It’s a relaxing and very comfortable hotel. Absolutely loved staying here.

Very convenient from the railway station. Quick check-in and lovely breakfast. Very ornate building. Room was good, comfortable and warm. Shame there was no view out of the room, just a wall.

I wasn’t happy with first room on 4th floor so was moved to first floor. This room was very nice. Quite noisy around 6am due to proximity to car park and station. The hotel is very much of its era and parts are quite beautiful. Lots of decorative tile work and colourful carpets. I felt like I was in a period novel. I didn’t try breakfast as I see no reason to pay £16 for a meal I can get round the corner at Witherspoons for £5. Very convenient location and memorable stay. I will be back as I enjoyed the whole experience.

Absolutely beautiful building, warm welcome at reception and big spacious rooms. Feels like you have gone back in time. We loved spending the night here and would recommend this hotel to anyone, perfect location in the centre of Newcastle with everything no you need in the doorstep.
