Excellent hotel, attentive staff, helpful all round, our butler amazing, dining manager very helpful, reception staff amazing. rooms were brilliant, well equipped and spacious, we could not have booked a more perfect hotel, everything about our holiday was 100%. Food in dining area buffet had a theme every night so you got different choices, breakfast was more than enough choice. Drinks at the bar were expensive but if you're going to paradise island, be prepared to spend a little more than usual, I have no regrets and would come back here without hesitation. We had holiday that we will never forget and all staff members had a massive part to play in this. See you all again and hopefully soon.

I’m very glad for my choice for this hotel .The hotel’s staff were always welcoming and friendly.Room service was very high standard and I really feel like I am at home.The food was great, specially the pastries and cakes section was absolutely amazing ,because the Chef’s made it themselves.All food was fantastic and fresh.I did try a massage too and I like to thank to Naomi for amazing care and kindness.She does perfect and professional care.Everything was fantastic and I’m sure I will come back! Very friendly, clean, nice pool and beach, Excellent food and plenty to choose from, Slightly lacking in evening entertainment but perhaps that’s due to the quieter season, but overall loved it and would definitely come back in a heartbeat.

We stayed at this wonderful hotel for 10 days in May. My cousin managed to arrange an upgrade to a suite for us which was absolutely spectacular, The bedroom was very spacious and there was also a lounge area. We loved the pool and the beach and the hotel has some spectacular views . Staff are very friendly and helpful, and we couldn’t fault the service. We stayed all inclusive and enjoyed the breakfast and lunch buffet and dinner at the Plantation restaurant . As we were here for 10 nights, we managed to do lobster tonight twice which was fantastic. The staff at the Plantation restaurant really were phenomenal. We also had a massage in the spa, which we really lovely . There is also a small but well equipped gym. We would stay here again and recommend this place for couples and families .

We had a lovely stay at The Residence! The provide an absolutely amazing service, incredible friendly staff, a wonderful hotel, the buffet was fabulous and the beach beautiful - we did enjoy our stay so much!! We can recommend the hotel a lot as everything you needed was given and there es nothing to complain about!

Chose the Residence for a surprise birthday holiday for my partner from a picture online - It looked idylic with its wide sweeping veranda and plantation style and we were not dissapointed. The place is simply stunning and the main building is probably the nicest hotel i've ever been to. Hard to pin down the best bits as everything was very special from the food and special birthday meal prepared by staff to the drawn bath full of rose petals after a day out in the rain. Food was exceptional and we were spoiled for choice. As the hotel was only around half full, the management changed from the usual buffet service to full a la carte dining and the presentation was superb. The staff in all areas are very attentive and nothing was too much. Sanjay, the butler & turn down man and Radhoa the chef at the plantation along with Stephan & Ally were a few standouts but all staff were great.

Really nice hotel and the staff are all amazing. Everyone was so helpful and always smiling. The hotel has excellent facilities and an amazing view out onto the sea. The beach is spotless and kept clean by staff throughout the day. The room was also nicely decorated and roomy with a balcony that looked out to the sea. Had all the normal facilities for a room but there was also a butler service who could get you anything you want and ours was extra helpful and so kind. The food options were also really good, with an a la cart restaurant and also a buffet, which the theme changes every night. Recommend the buffet as the quality of food was brilliant and the choices available were vast. I would recommend this hotel to friends and family and we will definitely be booking this hotel again.

Just returned from our annual Residence stay. Everything as usual was top-notch, and so pleased to see so many of our friends still in situ. Thanks to Amanda for our warm greeting and our outstanding accommodation with wonderful sea views. From arriving and meeting Coruna and Kesh in reception, through the bar area to Veeru and Sooraj and straight into breakfast with Ruben, Charlene, Alena and Yashna. It was just like being at home! We had many meals at the Plantation with our very good friends Radhoa, Sanjitta, Kusha, Noha and Rannish, which were all first rate. There was a nice new addition in the tapas restaurant, which we enjoyed and which created a nice vibe. We must mention Ansuya and Avisen, who kept our room in immaculate condition on a daily basis. Special thanks to Ruben for his consistent professionalism and kindness throughout our stay. We very much looking forward to returning with our extended family to share this wonderful hotel and surroundings in August.

Really lovely hotel, staff are warm and friendly, rooms are really spacious with a lovely bath and separate shower. Food was really good, we were half board and breakfasts and dinners were both excellent with lots of choice and really fresh. Buffet at night was different themes and also have the plantation restaurant which was a la carte. Would definitely come back and thanks for a lovely stay! I would say half board is plenty but if you really like a drink (alcohol) it may be worth going all inclusive as drinks are standard 5 star hotel prices.

We loved our stay here and had such a relaxing time. The beach was beautiful so white so clean lovely. We reallly enjoyed a walk late afternoon along the beach to the temples at the very far end then back through the forest area adjacent to the beach - had to do something to compensate for the over indulgence of food ! Food was plentiful and we especialy enjoyed The Plantation restaurant - the food here is outstanding as is the ambiance, so welcoming. A few nights we had entertainment at the main bar area which was fun. All the staff at the hotel are so friendly and professional - many thanks especially to Amanda for taking the time to chat with me during our stay and gave me a good insight on the Hotel very informative. The snorkelling trip we did was great and saw lots of fish. The rooms we had were so lovely first the Ocean front - wonderful view and quite close to the sea you could hear it. Additionally the Suite, wonderfully spacious and beautifully presented we especially liked the sunloungers outside on the terrace. Overall you cannot go wrong with this hotel - it has a relaxing vibe, not rushed, no loud music by the pool just perfect. Thank you for a super 7 nights stay.. Deborah & Mark Cook

Rooms 254/153/155.(May 28 to Jun 3) - feedback provided by room 254. Our 2nd visit to the Residence.We had a great time there, although mother nature did not cooperate for the first 3 days...there being anticyclones around the island (not the fault of the hotel). We did appreciate very much the upgrade to Ocean front facing rooms, which was a nice gesture on the part of the Residence. Nothing beats the experience of waking up in the morning with the smell, sight and sound of the sea so close by. The views are stunning at sunrise and also during the day whenever the weather is nice. Nice gardens, clean beach and sea. The staff made us feel very welcome. Every one there did their best to ensure we had a nice time. We were Half Board, the food was great, there was enough choice to help us find something to our taste. Special shout outs to Yovanna(our housekeeping lady), Trisha(at the breakfast egg/omelette station), Sabrina(from the guest relations team who did follow up after I needed an emergency visit to a nearby Medical Clinic), Vimal for preparing our room in the evening . Overall a great place to relax and chill out with a good variety of land or sea based activities. A couple of suggestions:- 1) provide stainless steel electric kettle instead of plastic one. 2) more cooked veggie dishes.That should be fairly easy to implement since Mauritius has such a large variety of local/native veggies as seen at the Local farmers' markets around the island. 3) whilst I do understand the need to charge for Wine/fruit juices/soft drinks during dinner, I wonder why water is not provided by default, given that it is bottled in-house and already being provided free throughout the day. Besides that would also help separate the Residence from its competitors on the island.

We stayed for 1 week in June 2024. It was a very pleasant stay. Room was clean and tidy, staff are friendly and very welcoming. The staff particularly made an effort with my 10 month old son, making effort to entertain him which he enjoyed, espically at the plantation restuarant. The hotel has its own beach which is kept very clean and tidy. It is a stunning beach. The hotel also has a few swimming pools, all well maintained. We stayed in a junior suite, it was a very large room. At the time we stayed it wasn't overcrowded so was quite a pleasant stay. The room was cleaned twice a day and the towels replaced. The hotel was very accomodating of warming up or making food for my son. The hotel is on the east coast of the island, and there is a breeze which comes from this direction making the weather unpredictable. It was windy and cloudy for us for the first few days, we mainly went to the west coast where it was sunny and the water was warmer. Unfortunently, none of the hotel's pools are heated so the water can be cold depending on the weather, so we couldn't stay in there for long with my son. We were half board. The breakfast menu rotated on a 2 day basis, so the food was slightly repetitive, but none the less it was tasty so we didn't mind. The dinner buffer was different each day and also the food was tasty. You have to pay for drinks at dinner, even for water which I didn't like. The drinks were slightly pricey espically when you are buying them every night. The plantation restaurant did not have many options for free under the half-board, the other options were subsidised, so we did not eat there, other than once. It is an alacate menu so it is an acquired taste and you gete less food than goinng to the bufffet. They also had a lobster night which was quite pricey, but we tried it as a one off. There was also a tappas night which we thoroughly enjoyed. The hotel offers a number of water sport activities complimentary, however due to having a 10 month old with us we were unable to try these. There is also a diving centre based at the hotel, which I did try, it is very professional so worth doing through the hotel. The hotel offers free parking if you hire a vehicle, which is convienient. There is nothing much nearby, so worth hiring a car if you are planning to go out, otherwise the taxi fares could add up. Overall a pleasant stay and would recommend the hotel, but may be worth booking a hotel on the opposite side of the island purely based on better weather.
