Reviews of Skiathos Living

First of all the positive reviews i read I do not believe to be true …I usually thoroughly research where to stay and like to be within walking distance of restaurants/bars and shops which this has. It’s situated just outside of the town but easily walkable. I had realised there were steps leading up to the property as I’d read previous reviews but they were steep and with no handrail so it made hard work getting suitcases up there and down again once we had left . The place had no reception area as such .. just a small room to check in. Couldn’t fault the staff, they tried but it was a bit fawlty towers at times . Had booked for breakfast which is delivered to your room and there is no choice. We were unimpressed by the cold breakfast which included sliced bread, two hard boiled eggs, slices of ham and cheese and sliced banana and yoghurt. Presentation was poor and it was unappealing so we decided to cancel breakfast and eat it in one of the many places in town. But although we cancelled there was a knock on the door the next day with breakfast so yet again we had to go to reception and explain we didn’t want it . They continued to try to deliver it each morning for a few days until they understood . Communication overall was not good as they couldn’t seem to understand we didn’t want it ! The apartment itself was very big but lacked warmth or character and the sofa was badly stained with holes in it too, just a plain room with balcony overlooking the port and mountains and the views were the only good aspect of it.We could hear the planes land daily and watch them coming in as airport is just five minute drive away. We had the loft room which was pointless as no view from bedroom and the steps up to bed were very precarious in that very steep and quite dangerous in the dark if you needed to go downstairs for the bathroom. The bathroom itself was ok apart from the shower cubicle which had only a handheld shower head attached to the wall which kept falling down or wouldn’t stay in place so spraying water everywhere but into the cubicle . We did ask them to fix this and they said they would whilst we were out one evening and asked us for the room key. I’d have thought they would have a spare but they didn’t which left us with the question how are we to get back in again as it would be late at night and reception closes at 10pm. They said for us to call them and someone would come down which they did at gone midnight and the shower was only slightly better than it had been . We managed only one time to use the pool area as we had poor weather. The pool area looks nothing like the photos which make it appear almost like an infinity pool. There isn’t a bar poolside or music just a vending machine selling soft drinks and snacks. It was quite run down and the sunbeds were badly stained. Pool towels were threadbare and frayed thin towels but luckily we did bring our own. I’d also advise to bring own bathroom towels as the ones provided are so small t

The room would be classed as a one bedroom apartment, it was large in size with a balcony with a view. The room was lovely and clean. It is a traditional older style accommodation. The breakfast was ok. There are quite a few steep steps on entry to this property, the staff were attentative in helping me with my luggage on arrival and departure.

Have just returned from a lovely holiday staying at Skiathos Living. We had a very clean, 2 floored apartment. The staff are very friendly and helpful and provide a delicious breakfast, brought to the room each morning. The pool area is peaceful with a wonderful view of the town and sea. Great central location. One thing to note is that the hotel is up some steep steps but so is most of the accommodation in Skiathos so something to note if you have mobility issues and are thinking of visiting the island. Would recommend this hotel.

Just checked in to this hotel, arrived at 3pm as this was time we were advised to check in and room not ready. We were told we had been ‘upgraded’, the upgrade is horrendous. Bed on mezzanine with very steep dangerous stairs, bathroom on separate floor to bedroom. Room extremely dated, no pool towels provided and only 2 very small towels for shower. Asked to be moved to room we had booked and this was not possible as hotel overbooked. Do not recommend

We enjoyed our week at skiathos living as the views are amazing the location perfect for everything. A couple of negatives We were allocated a loft suite which I would consider dangerous as the stairs to the mezzanine bedroom were very steep and difficult to use if you are not very mobile. We had no choice as they were fully booked. The holiday was with TUI which didn’t mention lofts and steep stairs in the room description so beware The room was very dated and basic without a kettle The bed was one of the most uncomfortable I have ever slept in each day waking up aching and tired The staff were very friendly and did their best but overall the accommodation needs upgrading

The hotel was in a really good location for the airport, the port, and the old town. We had a loft room (last one available so had no choice) which was spacious and had a lovely balcony view but I would NOT recommend this room for anyone with children or anyone with mobility issues. The stairs to the bedroom were very steep and slippy. The bathroom was quite dated, and had a lot of cupboard doors falling off etc. The room was clean enough, the staff were friendly. We didn't spend much time in the hotel but it was fine for what we needed if you're looking for a base. The pool area is very small so probably not ideal if you like to sit by the pool all day.

We have just returned from a week from the Skiathos Living & had a wonderful time ! This complex is in prime location & whilst lovely & quiet its minutes from the bars restaurants, bus service & marina. Staff are really lovely & welcoming & accommodation is good. Rare to find a pool in this area as well. The kitchen is very basic & I had hoped there would be a toaster but overall a great gem of a place. Opposite is a great supermarket so easy to get few supplies in. Our daughters not just once but twice left things like new goggles by the pool area only to find them there in the morning - relief - a trustworthy place.

Absolutely loved our stay here! Staff were brilliant, especially the two guys who helped with our bags. Room was spacious and the view from our balcony was amazing. Think everyone has commented on the steps but so worth the view from the apartment. Location was brilliant. We stayed the other end of Skiathos town before and this location was just as lovely. Would definitely stay here again. Pool was great and although could be full, no-one rushed to put their towels on the beds! Great Supermarket 150yards to the left outside the apartments.

Myself and my husband have just returned from a glorious week at Skiathos living! These lovely apartments are situated a 5 minute walk from the port with plenty of restaurants and shops. The apartments are on the hill side, so you benefit from a lovely breeze, peace & quiet and wonderful views! We had an enormous room and balcony - really nicely decorated and felt very luxurious! The pool area is lovely with plenty of sunbeds and a vending machine for cold drinks and snacks. The staff are really friendly - a special mention to Christos who brought our suitcases up the many stairs and back down again and was always smiling and happy to see us. There are many steps (about 50!!) but don’t let that put you off - the location of the apartments is absolutely perfect with everything within easy reach - but just far enough away for complete relaxation! We highly recommend this special place!

Wonderful accommodation in what was more like a split level apartment in the end with a mezzanine bedroom. The place is beautifully kept, clean and tidy with stylish surroundings and stunning flowers and plants. The key element for Skiathos Living is the view - which is simply stunning- covering most of the bay area and landing strip for the airport, you're never stuck for something to sit and look at. The patio doors offer superb noise insulation and you cannot hear a peep from the town when closed. The pool is lovely and very well maintained with plenty of good quality sun loungers for everyone. Only three minor gripes; the WiFi is very unreliable and with poor coverage in the rooms, secondly the steps to enter the property- they were okayish for us and justified by the view - I can imagine this being a problem for less mobile or elderly travellers.l, lastly the breakfast which whilst being very lovely having it delivered each morning it did become a bit boring, uninspiring and occasionally stale or dry. The staff were top class however, very helpful smily and willing to help. A recommended place for sure.

Fantastic staff who can’t do enough for you! accommodation is to a high standard. spectacular views with a perfection location only minutes from the port. A pity there is no bar in pool area but saves you money overall for the drinks kept in your fridges! Will definately be staying again. Skiathos is a beautiful place with beautiful beaches.

We have just returned from a great 11 night stay at Skiathos living. The two-story accommodation was very clean and we were pleased with how spacious it was. There was two large bedrooms, two large shower/toilet rooms, a kitchenette and a large living area with two balconies. The continental breakfast was delivered every morning and offered a great selection for us (two adults and two children). The location is perfect, 2 minutes walk from the port/town and 1 minute from the bus stop. The staff couldn’t do enough for us, they were so friendly and our room was cleaned daily with fresh towels. There are hair dryers in the accommodation and free towels available for the pool. The pool area was also nice and clean, plenty of bed and in full sun until later in the day. The views from the accommodation and pool area are great, I can’t believe we got this accommodation for such a reasonable price. We stayed in Skiathos to attend a family wedding and despite others in the wedding party paying double and triple for accommodation, they all commented that ours was better than there’s. We would definitely recommend and have family booked to stay again next year as they were very impressed. -A point for parents to note that there is no shallow area for children in the pool -There is no pool bar or on-site shop. This would make the place even better as we did have to run across to the shop quite often for water (however it is only a few minutes walk) -The WiFi is sporadic although we found this to be the case across the whole island

This was our first trip to Skiathos and we were very pleased that we chose this hotel. There are a few steps up to the property but it’s worth it for the stunning views you get from your balcony or the pool area. The rooms are large, ours had two bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen/dining area and living room and we had two balconies. The rooms were cleaned everyday and you don’t need take beach towels as they supply fresh ones near to the pool. The breakfast is huge but very healthy and an excellent start to the day. The staff will do anything to help and they’re all very friendly. The pool area is so peaceful and there were always enough loungers, very comfortable too. The nearest bars, restaurants and bus stop are about two minutes walk away, same distance as the port. We fell in love with Skiathos and Skiathos Living was the perfect location.

Loved my stay here. The views from my apartment were beautiful My room was perfect,a few staines here and there but that's ok. All the female staff i met especially marro were lovely and friendly. Breakfast was brought to my apartment each morning,it was plentiful. Pool area very clean and nice. I would recommend and stay again,near everything Perfect location.
