Great location and friendly staff
Near Europe’s largest waterfall

住這裏，早上起來開一會兒，就可以看gullfoss瀑布，非常休閑。酒店的有餐吧，可以晚上小酌。我老公帶的羊肉飯，人家員工也很nice的熱了，這個是私底下喔。坐在温暖小屋裡看外面大雪紛飛，非常可以。

Stay here, drive for a while in the morning, and you can see Gullfoss Falls, which is very relaxing. The hotel has a restaurant and bar where you can have a drink in the evening. My husband brought the mutton rice and the staff was very nice. This is private. It's quite nice to sit in a warm hut and watch the snow falling outside.

房間不大，離黃金大瀑布10分鐘車程，出行很方便。周圍空曠，適合看極光。

The room is not big, and it is a 10-minute drive from Gullfoss Waterfall, so it is very convenient to travel. The surrounding area is open and suitable for watching the aurora.

The hotel is close to Gullfoss waterfall and a short hop to Geysir. It’s very remote and high up and is almost the last stop on route 35 before it becomes an F road (rough unsurfaced track with river crossings) that crosses the centre of Iceland. In winter and in the snow this is a cold and icy place and a picture of splendid isolation. So enough about the location. The hotel itself is not a mountain chalet but has that sort of vibe about it. It’s 3 star and family run. It’s not large maybe 30-35 rooms I would guess. It’s Restaurant and Lounge area are contained on the one space though separated  by screens and it is all very bright and airy with great views. The bedrooms were not that large but had everything you need and were warm and cozy with decent bathroom and modern fittings and overall of a very good standard. We ate in the restaurant and I was a bit nervous of what the standard might be like and I had considered driving to a nearby restaurant through the snow and ice at night. I need not have worried. The food was excellent and really well prepared and this standard persisted when we had breakfast the following morning and this was a really  pleasant surprise well above expectations for a remote three star hotel. It’s family run and you really get the  impression that the staff are proud of their hotel and they should be. It’s great. They were very attentive and pleasant and clearly knew what they were doing despite all being quite young. One little piece of advice for the hotel. Put a bit more cozy furniture in the reception area. It’s a wee bit Spartan and a small change would make that welcome feeling you get in the hotel complete, but that’s a very small point and I highly recommend this sweet little mountain hotel.

We were very pleased with our stay here.  The location is great - close to the spectacular Gullfoss waterfall.   The rooms are clean, modern and spacious. There's a kettle in the room with tea and coffee.   The excellent breakfast is served 8 in a large, beautiful dining room.

This is one of the best hidden gems in South Iceland. Excellent accommodation, service and ambience. Great restaurant with few but good courses. And the location zero to none. Spent a long week end with friends. The perfect getaway.
