The stay was on my way to Manchester airport. The heater in my first room was not working, but they moved me to another room All was OK with the 2nd room, until I went to use the shower. The head was not working, in as much as it was like using a tap. But overall a great place to stay. I would recommend it, despite the 2 minor issues.

I'm currently staying at the hotel.i did stay here a number of years ago, and it was a good hotel then.i checked in and went to my room,it was quite dirty throughout. So i went to reception and asked to change to a cleaner room.I then looked at that,it was still dirty.back to reception, again try another room.it had a smell like an open sewer.so back again, at this point I asked to see the manager. What I need to point out is the reception staff and manager were very polite and friendly. I was told its an old building and during rain sometimes the drains back up and cause a smell.i explained the dirtiness of the rooms, stains on carpets and beds, peeling painted walls, and grime along surfaces, you could play noughts and crosses on the surfaces due to the amount of dust and grime.the remote controls were filthy.put you off picking one up.eventually I got a clean room.the manager took me to check it out herself. She was a nice lady who was doing what she could.after that I thought I'd watch a bit of TV.but all the channels had been programmed in the wrong way, just made it vert awkward to find a show.this morning at breakfast I went to restaurant and wanted a cup of coffee.went to machine and no cups, you have to ask to have one brought out.ok then.i ordered some pancakes of menu after 25 minutes 2 dried pancakes were brought out.ok ill have a glass of orange juice, lukewarm .the buffet,o asked for a gork as non at table ,a stained set of cutlery were provided to me.breakfast it's self was fine,no issues there.but overall breakfast experience a let down.at nearly £17 a head it should be better.though mine was part of the room rate.as you read through this review some parts may seem trivial ,possibly so.but it's the fact that when you add up all these small things it gives a overall bad experience. I have stayed a various holiday inns, and this isn't really up there.i was offered 2000 ihg reward points as a gesture from the manager. To put that into context,it costs around 20 000 points for a 1 night stay at a holiday inn. So really you can't do anything with 2000 points.a percentage of the bill would have been more appropriated.i think this hotel needs a major overall, and some of the staff retraining. The positives are the reception staff and manager.

Beautiful location with an incredibly old characteristic building, friendly and helpful staff. Totally enjoyed my stay, if you get the chance to stay here I would highly recommend it. But please remember this is an old building so floorboards creak and doors will slam and walls may not be the thickest. It’s full of character and charm so if you want high end modern, this may not be the place for you. I loved it here and will definitely return

What time is good: the room is clean, the bed is very comfortable, the breakfast is very good at your own expense, and the location is convenient near the train station. A lot of bad things: 1. Very noisy! Every night, I can immerse myself in hearing the people downstairs drinking and chatting and shooting the table until 12 o'clock in the evening! ! Close to the street, the car is also very noisy. Why can't the hotel give us a higher and quiet room without guests? I still wake up with earplugs at night. 2. The staff basically did not see it, and the staff was not there every time they passed the front desk. When I checked in, I didn't tell us where the breakfast was. 3. The first night was booked directly with the hotel, and the second night was Trip.com. When I checked in, my brother said that the room type for two nights was different, but they had no other guests staying the next day and should be able to leave us in the room for the first night. The next day when we went to confirm, they also said at first that we should be able to continue to live in today's room. The result made us wait for ten minutes and then said that we had to pay 20 pounds to continue to live in the previous room. 4. The hotel does not have a bathtub, the price is a four- or five-star hotel, the price is relatively low In short, I feel that the hotel cares more about running their restaurant and bar and adopts a waiver policy for the guest rooms.

I've stayed here before when it was a lot better. Nowadays the outside of the building is in desperate need of decorating, with paint flaking off the walls. First thing that went wrong was the booking from Trip.com somehow became lost in the system despite us have received an acknowledgement number from the hotel. Next, the sink did not hold water because the rubber seal in the plug was worn out. The bathroom has no windows and the fan did not work so smells linger. On the second day the hot water tap in the sink stopped flowing - no water, neither hot nor cold. They readily fixed that for us when we complained, but we decided not to risk showering for our stay in case the water failed again. The TV remote did not turn the TV on - I found that there was a switch on the TV we could use to turn it on and off, so we used that instead and the remote fortunately worked for everything else needed on the TV. On the last morning my wife wanted to use the hairdryer and found it did not work - upon checking, I found that the wire had been pulled right out of the switch. We never found the bar. Lastly - the breakfasts. The Friday and Saturday meals were very good, but the Sunday breakfast was served by a different staff member who was quite parsimonious. My wife and I both ordered the full English breakfast, but what we got on the Sunday was one breakfast shared between two plates. Two rashers of bacon were simply cut in two, with my wife getting the meaty end of the two rashers and I getting the fatty end. There was one egg each - not two - and the scrambled eggs we ordered were merely stirred to break the yolk rather than properly scrambled. The portion of beans was minimal, not even a child's portion. We saw another diner having the same treatment and he was not pleased either. The room was a bit too warm for us but we could not find any way of adjusting the temperature. On the plus side, the bed was nice and firm. Reception staff were not always easy to get hold of or we would have passed all our complaints on to them as we came across them, but we had lots to do and did not want to waste our time. It's a shame, because it is the best hotel for us location-wise, but we won't be going back.

GGuest UserThis hotel is beautiful every detail has been very very thoughtfully created by a loving family yes it’s a boutique hotel but it feels like your home from home. we attended here for a wedding and the hotel blew me away our room was compact but had every little detail required all the furniture was a high standard and the decor was very beautiful and flowed through each area of the hotel. The bathroom had shampoo and conditioner a beautiful brand, hand soap and hand cream all complimented eachother. The lights had dimmer switched which allowed a warm lighting control or a bright light whichever preferred also there was the mirrors with built in lights extra perfect touch. Breakfast that is included was beautiful and we sampled the £10 supplement for breakfast and both types of breakfast used amazing high quality produce and perfect care was taken as though you are the only one in the building. The hall that is available for room hire was absolutely stunning so can’t wait to revisit and see what the future hold for the parr’s bank. Love the nod to the history of the building as a bank. We most definitely will be returning to Warrington and will be staying here in the future. The hotel is also continuously manned all day and all night so no horrid passcodes or electronic Al check in real valuable people all the way xx Congratulations to all the staff and nice to see owners chipping in with the workforce too amazing and beautiful

GGuest UserWe really enjoyed our visit today. We were only day pass guests tho ( because we are too cheap to get memberships) anyway, the staff on reception at the gym were so helpful and gave us a lock and a towel each, the price was £2 a towel ... 2 quid ! This country is in a crisis right now and like Adele says ' Go easy on me baby ' I handed over my card like Whoopi Goldberg handing the cheque to that nun in Ghost ...unfortunately the sauna was out of use which miffed us off abit but we didn't let that spoil things. The facilities were great .. steam room , swimming pool which was heated ! I had thoughts of a reenactment from the ending of Titanic but no ... oh and a jacuzzi ! After some time of day-dreaming and pretending that this place was my own, and it was part of my new house that I'd just purchased after winning big on the lotto, we got out and headed to the changies. Love that I could dry my hair and get my full geisha on instead of looking like a drowned rat that had been pulled from some kind of wreckage . After our time in the pool , we went for dinner ( we say dinner not lunch , we are Northern) ... we strutted into the bar and grill like we owned the gaff . We were greeted by the beautiful Wynne who was an absolute star. So happy, polite and adorable. It was at this point we needed to channel our inner Augustus Gloop and grip the menu. We got the Peri Peri burger stack each with fries and coleslaw and my guy in the kitchen did not disapoint . Wynne brought our food over and it was delicious,a tad overpriced I thought but it was lovely food. ( i just wont but my heating on for another week) I would've given a full 5 star rating but the sauna being out of order is the only reason why I'm not giving 5. Would come back again, course we would xxx

GGuest User1st the rooms ate very clean, the hotel is spotless. Some issues. The hotel states its dog friendly, this is true, but it's not clear on their website that not all rooms are dog friendly, so the superior room we had booked was downgraded, and a £20 fee added as a charge for the dog. If you are dog friendly then make sure you fully reflect this in the website. Evening meal in the restaurant, the staff were very friendly and efficient. It would appear that the full online menu is not available in the restaurant , a cut down version. Ok. We were advised that the Thai Green Curry was not available. Ok. We ordered, soon afterwards, we were advised that the beer battered onion rings was also off the menu. Hmm, so every is not freshly cooked, but pulled out of the freezer. Even an average chef could manage to produce a batter and cook onion rings, not difficult . Right, the room, is fine, but no ability to regulate the heat, reduced opening on the windows, didn't help. Right, breakfast. We arrived at 8:40, the restaurant was fairly empty. We were taken to a table. The staff appeared to be totality uninterested. We went to the buffet bar, no eggs, asked and were advised they were cooked to order. So we ordered two poached eggs and two fried eggs. No. They can't do fried eggs, only poached or scrambled. That confirms that nothing is actually cooked. No eggs, are they being serious? The scrambled arrived it appear to be swimming in some liquid, not pleasant. Right the cold buffet bar looked poor, the yoghurt was empty. No white bread to toast. The staff were not bothered to ask if we wanted our coffee topping up. At precisely 9:00 AM the staff kicked into action and cleared the hot food. I asked when did they stop serving, they answered 9:30, but they cleared everything away at 9:00. Paying customers who turned up after 9 looked dismayed at the empty hot buffet. The uninterested stsff had to go and get the food from the kitchen .I've stayed in a large number of hotels ranging from guest houses to 5 star, but have never seen such poor attitude at breakfast, a failure to fry an egg. Needs looking at..

CChris TamComing to Warrington, this hotel is pretty good, with free parking. And the waiter's attitude is very good. There are also restaurants. There is also a separate cabin where you can cook. It was just that the outside room had insufficient heating and insufficient water. Everything else is perfectly fine.
