One disappointing aspect of my stay was the check-in experience. Upon arrival, the check-in system was down, leading to a manual process taking more than 30 minutes. Guests had to wait without a clear timeline, causing discomfort.
Disappointing. I’ve stayed at the Kimaya a few times before, and it’s not as good as it was. The best thing about the hotel is the friendly car park staff. The rooms are dated, the bed not particularly comfortable, the bathroom badly laid out, small, smelly, and veritably not spotlessly clean. I don’t blame the cleaners - how do you clean a bath when you have no access to it?
The reception staff are superficially friendly and efficient enough. Our biggest gripe was that the hotel refuses to take food delivery, which must be left outside by the gate. And they won’t tell you that it’s arrived. It’s a strange policy, especially considering the room service menu is not that great.
Breakfast is ok, again, not as good as it was.
As a regular visitor to Jogja, I hoped that the Kimaya would be my regular hotel for many years. Sadly, I don’t think I’ll be back.
Overall, I had a great experience with the Pop Sangaji. staff was incredibly helpful, and the amenities were so so. The room was clean, and perfect to take a rest. Near tugu jogja and malioboro. Cons only television need to repair
