We booked for 2 Adults, 2 children (16 and 14 year olds) via ***********. When we arrived, we were given a room for 3 people. I advised the owner straight away that the room was booked for 4 people and showed him my booking. He checked his records and said that he was only advised that the booking was for 3 people. He asked me for $20 extra dollars as he would give me a bigger room to fit 4. I said that it was not my error and that I should not be charged extra as my booking was correct. He reluctantly said that he would give us the bigger room. It was a nice 2 bedroom and after speaking with my husband, we agreed to go back to reception and give him the extra $20 even though my booking was for definitely for 4 people.
I went to reception and said that I don't mind giving the extra $20 as it is a very nice room. He then however completely surprised me and said ”That's the least you can do. When you book accommodation, you need to book for the correct amount of people.” I was taken back as this was not our error at all. He was so rude and I reluctantly handed over the extra $20. We will not be staying here again.
Clean, warm, friendly and good location. We stayed in cabin with private bathroom. Shared kitchen facility available and staying at site gives you 10% discount at diner across road. Not fancy but very reasonably priced. Free car park. 5 min walk to lake, restaurants and supermarket.
The motel unit we stayed in was fantastic and had everything we needed. I found our stay to be great value for money and the room is serviced everyday, which I was impressed with!
Staffs are nice and very helpful. They suggest us many wonderful local spots to visit.
the location is convenient and room is tidy and clean
the public kitchen is wonderful that almost all facilities are provided.
the hotel environment is chilling
Location: The hotel is located across from Lake Te Anau which also leads to Manapouri which is our intended destination for Doubtful Sound cruise.
Parking: The 2 BR cabin was conveniently located at the front of the park (which is huge) and parked right in front of the cabin.
Rooms: The cabin is split into 3 distinct areas - 1 large bedroom with queen bed, 1 bathroom in center of cabin, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds - since I was with family we had the whole cabin with the bathroom in center of the 2 cabins.
Facilities: It was nice that they have fast Wifi and laundry rooms across the park. Used the laundry facilities and it was well maintained. We also rented their lockers to store our luggage as we had to take an overnight cruise at Doubtful Sound.
The main reason to go to Invercargill is to check in at the world's southernmost Starbucks. Etc. The hotel parking lot is in the public parking lot diagonally opposite. You need to register your license plate at the front desk before you can park, but it is free. There is a shopping mall in Invercargill and the world's southernmost Starbucks near the hotel. There is also a Queen's Park to visit. The town is not big and not crowded and very quiet.

Excellent! The hotel was spotlessly clean and tidy. It's beautifully situated right by the lake, offering picturesque surroundings. Being conveniently close to Milford Sound is a great advantage, as it allows you to easily drive there and secure a free parking spot. On top of that, the accommodation is much more affordable than staying in Queenstown.
The reception staff were very warm and friendly and even gave us a bottle of milk. We had requested a family room with a tower view, and the location was perfect – we could see the tower directly from our living room. Queen's Park is also just across the street. The only downside was the cooktop in the kitchenette; it was either too fast or very slow to heat up, quite old-fashioned, and difficult to use. Additionally, the motel requires guests to park their car directly outside their own room, and parking in other spots is not permitted.

AAnonymous UserThe hotel is in a very central location and has its own underground paid parking lot. Parking is free at the door at night. The oysters in the nearby town of Bluff are delicious. There is a very popular local restaurant that is great and requires advance reservation. New Zealand's express hotels do not retain guest information, only verify the reservation name, and pay great attention to privacy.

HHickeyI was pleasantly surprised given the outside exterior was rough run down however inside was tidy.
The room was small however adequate and had a nice view of the lake.
The shower head wasn’t great spraying in all directions and water went hot and cold. The bath was good and relaxing.
They could have better pillows firm pillows as the ones provided were quite soft.
However for what you pay it was adequate and served its purpose.
11182233042We set off from Queenstown to Milford Sound and stopped for a night in Te Anau. The hotel was beyond my expectations. It was a beautiful hotel by the lake. If I hadn't booked a fjord boat ticket the next day, I would have stayed a few more nights. I slowly felt the visual impact of the environment. It was also very close to the glowworm caves.

GGuest UserAlthough the equipment is relatively old, the price is relatively low. As long as the hygiene and service are good, you are basically satisfied.
TTengWMWe had a spacious room, room has fantastic sea view, room is 1 minute walk to the beach, can see dolphins in the evening. Motel near to the Penguin walk area and few hiking trails.Kitchen has stove, hot plate but no oven. Only knew the washer available on common area after check out. As our car break down, friendly host allowed us to use the common toilet and offer us drinks while waiting for technical.
GGuest UserWas priced very cheap - room clean but very dated , camp kitchen needed a good scrubbing, broken amenities and no washing machine working - BUT hospitality was great and restaurant attached gave us one of the nicest and cheapest meals we had - took some famous sausages to cook away with us.
We were in hostel so was cheapest accommodation they had - 4 people room was only $100
