火口から1kmの場所にある展望所。
外枠やイスに溶岩を使用した展望所で、
火口見学ができない場合でも、活火山をものがたる
荒々しい噴煙の様子を見ることができます。

売店やバスターミナルもあり、
とても便利で役に立つ施設もあります。

また、ここは昔、阿蘇山(霊山)を祈祷する
一大霊場の拠点で、今なお阿蘇山西巌殿寺奥之院や
阿蘇山上神社が鎮座し参拝者も多いエリアです。

The observation deck uses lava for its outer frame and seating,

There are also shops and a bus terminal,
making it a very convenient and useful facility.

Furthermore, this area was once a major sacred site for praying to Mount Aso (a sacred mountain), and even today, Aso-san Seigandenji Okunoin and Aso-sanjo Shrine are located here, attracting many visitors.

土日ならかなりの大行列ですが、
平日にいったので、そんなに並ばず
30分程度で食べることができました。

色んなメニューがありますが、
あか牛丼が一番人気です。

レアのあか牛の上に半熟卵が
のった丼で最高に美味しかったです。

並びますが、その価値がある美味しさです。
観光客の方が多いですが、地元の方も
おひとりで立ち寄る方も多いそうです。

I went to try the Akaushi beef bowl,
made with Kumamoto's famous Akaushi beef.
There's usually a massive line on weekends,
but since I visited on a weekday, the wait wasn't too bad,
and I was able to eat after about 30 minutes.

They have a variety of dishes on the menu,
but the Akaushi beef bowl is by far the most popular.
