The roast dinner is the star. The beef was tender, the potatoes crispy, and the gravy had that proper homemade depth. Everything tasted cooked just right. Good value for the quality.

Popped into this old village pub for a pint. The lounge bar is a proper cosy spot, low ceilings and a real fire. Just the kind of place you want to hunker down in on a damp afternoon. Pint was spot on.

Just had the steak pie here. It's proper home-cooked stuff, massive portion for the price. Place was packed with locals, had to wait a bit for a table. Feels fresh since the refurb.

Stayed a night, very comfortable. Clean room, great shower, bed was perfect. The included breakfast was excellent, and they had a decent selection of local craft beers to go with it, which was a nice touch.

Spacious spot with a huge outdoor area under a tent. Just stopped by for a coffee and ended up staying all afternoon. It's got a nice, lively buzz.

Lovely spot by the harbour, perfect for a sunny afternoon. The terrace seating was comfortable and the view of the water was so relaxing. Service was friendly and made the whole experience feel very easy.

Been coming here for years, and their cask ales are always spot on. The Proper Job was just right tonight, not too warm, perfect pour. That's why I keep coming back.

Been staying here for years. The room overlooking the church is always so peaceful and comfortable. Perfect base for exploring Dartmoor.

Been here a few times for events. The private room upstairs is perfect for a small group, and the view is just as good every time.

Nice spot on the seafront. They had a local lobster special one day, but it was sold out by the time we got there.

The draught beers and ciders are a nice selection, all reasonably priced. My pint was poured perfectly, really fresh and crisp. Just what I was after.

Mixed grill and fish and chips were both spot on. The portion for the mixed grill was huge, easily enough for two. Fish and chips portion was decent too. Good value for the price you pay.

The roast was fantastic, and their wine list had some really nice pairings to go with it. Staff were very helpful too.

The honey chilli chicken was so tender! We ended up with leftovers, which was perfect for a lazy next-day lunch with my flatmate.

Great spot by the harbour. Popped in for a coffee and just sat there watching the boats for ages. Views are lovely.

The chef really knows his stuff for gluten-free. Took the time to walk me through the whole menu, even knew where they source the ingredients. Most dishes can be made GF. Food was spot on, and the garden's a nice spot on a sunny day.

Lovely spot for a meal with our pup. The steak was cooked just right, and I really appreciated how fresh the side salad tasted. The greens were crisp and the tomatoes were ripe. A nice, simple touch that made the meal feel wholesome.

They're so dog-friendly! Brought my pup and they gave him a little treat. Best part? You can grab fish and chips from the place next door and eat them here. Perfect for a casual catch-up with friends.

Popped in for a quick drink, they had treats for the dog at the bar which was a nice touch. Staff were really sound, managed to squeeze us in even though it was packed.

Popped in for a quick lunch while shopping. The kids' play area is a lifesaver - they loved the slides and climbing frame. Gave us a proper 20 minutes to actually eat our food in peace.

The steak was cooked just right, which was lovely. I also appreciated the comfortable booths - made for a relaxed, no-fuss meal. Prices are fair for what you get.

The full breakfast was solid, and they were flexible with substitutions. Chunky chips were a highlight. Good value for the portion size.

Been coming here for years, and the terrace is still the main draw for me. Grabbed a seabass and a pint last Saturday, same as always. Those heaters and blankets make it feel like a proper cosy spot, even when it's a bit chilly out. Just a solid, reliable place to unwind.

Popped in for a midweek lunch. The burger was spot on, really juicy. My wife's vegan curry pasty had lovely, flaky pastry. Portions were generous for the price.

Booked a standard room, got upgraded to a suite with two rooms and a private bath. Can't complain about that for the price we paid. A nice surprise.

Been coming here for years. The halloumi fries are always spot on - crispy outside, soft inside, never greasy. That's what keeps me coming back.

The team were so nice about our last-minute booking change! Really put us at ease for a catch-up with friends.

Love the big beer garden here, really spacious. The inside feels open too, nice for a relaxed pint. The carvery smelled incredible walking past, definitely trying that next time.

The regulars and staff are friendly, but I'm here for the pint. It's a comfortable spot for a quiet one. The ale had a nice, balanced bitterness, not too heavy. Just right for sitting by the window and not thinking about much else.
