Loved staying here for a weekend with friends. The food was really good, especially the Sunday roast. The village is so quiet and pretty, perfect for a relaxed catch-up. The pub itself has a lovely, cozy feel.

The lunch deal is a good option. I had the grilled salmon with a side salad. The salmon was cooked just right, and the greens in the salad were really fresh. A solid choice for a healthy midday meal.

Lovely old pub, really warm and cosy inside. Had a proper Sunday roast here, just what you want on a grey afternoon. The fire was lit, and the whole place felt so relaxed.

The moussaka is the real deal. The eggplant is soft, the minced lamb is well-spiced, and the béchamel on top is properly thick and creamy. It’s a solid, comforting dish that tastes exactly like it should.

The vegan cheese on their pizza was a pleasant surprise. It actually melts and gets properly gooey, which is so rare. We sat in the backyard garden, but it was a bit too dark in the evening to really see the fresh herbs they mentioned.

Tommaso was a great server, really funny and made the night so much better. We were a big group and he kept things moving without feeling rushed. Just what you want for a catch-up with friends.

First time here without a booking and they squeezed us in. The mixed chicken kebab was the star - really juicy and flavourful, loved the smoky bits. The place itself is bright and modern, which was nice.

The food's still the main draw. Had the lamb shank again and it's as tender as I remember, maybe even richer. The new owners haven't messed with a good thing where it counts.

We have had many meals at the Smuggiers Rest Peacehaven in the past for different occasions as it is quite close to home, We booked this our 28th wedding anniversary at short notice, And had another very enjoyable meal looked after by a very attentive waiter called Addison which made it all very pleasant meal/evening,

The fish was the star for me - the batter had this perfect crisp and the inside was so moist. Chips were a proper portion too. Just a really nice, friendly spot to grab a bite.

Classic burger was solid. Patty and bun quality stood out, no weird aftertaste. Even had a cold leftover slice the next day and it held up. Decent for the price.

Came here with friends on a packed Saturday night. The chicken and chorizo dish was so good for this time of year. Staff were really on it despite the crowd, which made it easy for us to just relax and chat.

Fish finger sandwich was spot on, crispy and not greasy. The leek and potato soup was a proper winter warmer, really hit the spot. Just what you want for a quick, no-fuss lunch.

The tasting menu was a bit of a splurge, but honestly? The flavours were so thoughtful. Left feeling just right, not stuffed.

The beer's really good here, and they brew their own now which is nice. It feels like the place is getting back to how it used to be. The seats were comfortable for a longer stay, which I always appreciate.

The smoked salmon pizza was a real treat. Freshly baked, delivered still warm. Toppings felt creative, not the usual suspects. Made a quiet Friday night in feel a bit more special.

The fish and chips were lovely, the batter was so light and crispy. But the real star was the sticky toffee pudding for dessert. You could tell it was made with really fresh, quality ingredients. A nice, simple finish to the meal.

7 of us had dinner while visiting Eastbourne to watch my son in the Easter Panto. We preordered our food and had fantastic in person service at the restaurant. The food was deliscious, I highly recommend the crab cakes to start! All 7 of us agreed we would return if in Eastbourne again!

Been coming here for years. It's the owner who makes it special, always greets you like a neighbour. Food's simple but reliable. A proper local spot, not trying to be anything it's not.

Meat Free Mondays is a solid deal. Got the vegan fish and chips, plus the smoked tofu salad. Everything came out fast, which is key for a quick lunch. The 'fish' was surprisingly good. Decent portion too.

The crust on their pizza is so light and crispy, and the toppings taste really fresh. Definitely up there with the best I've tried.

Been coming here for years. Food always arrives hot and fast, which I appreciate. You can really taste the freshness in the ingredients. The team knows what they're doing.

The mains are fantastic, but sides are a bit hit or miss. The coleslaw had way too much mayo for me. Mushy peas were spot on though, really good.

Lovely spot. We had a big surprise party here and the staff were brilliant - really discreet about the whole thing. Everyone's food came out just right, which is tricky with a large group. A really smooth evening.

Been coming here for years. It's a proper local pub. Staff are friendly, the garden's a sun trap in the afternoon. Drinks are always well kept. Just a nice, easy spot.

Alissia was lovely, really looked after our table. The heritage menu was solid, and she was right about the chocolate & salted caramel tart - so good! Perfect for a relaxed catch-up with friends.

Great spot for a quick lunch. Chicken satay and samosas were tasty, and the Malaysian curry hit the spot. Appreciate the good range of non-alcoholic drinks too. Service was quick, got me in and out in under 30 mins.

Popped in on a Saturday without a booking and they squeezed us in! 🍹 Drinks were really good, had a nice chilled vibe for catching up with friends. A bit of a wait for the table, but worth it for a spontaneous weekend afternoon.

Pizza's fresh, ordered mine with extra pepperoni. The clam pasta was good, flavour was spot on. Place was packed on a Tuesday night, had to wait a bit for a table. Service was friendly though. Gelato was a nice finish.

Love the focaccia sandwiches here! The bread is perfectly crispy outside and soft inside. Really good for the price. My friends and I ended up grabbing a few to share while we chatted. Just a nice, simple spot for a casual catch-up.
