🇬🇧 ZONE 02 — SOUTH EAST ENGLAND
Southeast England | Sea, Castles, Old Towns, and English Villages
If you're looking for a more "classic England" experience outside of London, the South East region is a great option. 🏰🌊 It offers historical cities, beautiful coastlines, castles, old villages, and vineyards, especially Kent and Sussex, renowned for their coastal routes and local wines.
📍 Must-Visit Places
👑 Windsor — Old town and Windsor Castle, perfect for those interested in royal history.
🏛️ Oxford — An ancient university city with a classic atmosphere, great for strolling.
🌊 Brighton — A vibrant seaside city with beaches, piers, restaurants, and trendy neighborhoods.
⛪ Canterbury — A historic city with Canterbury Cathedral as a highlight.
🤍 White Cliffs of Dover — White chalk cliffs overlooking the English Channel. Stunning sea views and one of Kent's most iconic landmarks:
🌿 Seven Sisters – Chalk cliffs by the sea perfect for scenic walks and photos.
🏘️ Rye – A small town with old streets, beautiful houses, and a nostalgic English atmosphere.
🏰 Bodiam Castle – A medieval castle surrounded by a moat, giving off a fairytale vibe. 🏰
🍇 Kent & Sussex Vineyards – Another hidden gem of England, with interesting wine production areas that many may not know about.
🚆 How to get there?
A major advantage of the South East is its relatively convenient access from London, especially Windsor, Brighton, Canterbury, and other cities along the train lines. However, natural attractions like Seven Sisters or some castles may require bus or car travel. 🚆🚗
🌸 Best time to visit:
April–June 🌷 Ideal for city walks and garden visits.
July–August ☀️ Great for coastal areas and seaside towns, but usually crowded.
September–October 🍂 Cooler weather, perfect for leisurely strolls. And it's a time when the countryside is incredibly beautiful.
November–December ✨ Many old towns start to get into the Christmas spirit.
💡 Tip: Don't try to visit the entire South East region in one trip. 😄 We recommend dividing it into Kent / Sussex / Oxfordshire / Windsor and choosing to travel in groups. This will save travel time and allow you to travel without getting too tired.
Recommended number of days: Approximately 4–6 days if you want to experience the old towns, coast, and nature without rushing.

A Little Walk Through Brighton ☕✨ | Streets, Shops & Coffee
Sometimes the best part of a day out is simply walking around and seeing what you find along the way. 🤍
During our time in Brighton, we spent some time exploring the streets, taking in the beautiful buildings and looking at the different cafés, bakeries and little shops along the way. I love doing this when we visit somewhere — you get to see a completely different side of a place when you explore it on foot. 🚶♀️✨
As we walked, I filmed a few places that caught my eye from the outside, including Caffè Nero, Simit Palace (Turkish bakery) and a few shops. 🥯
☕ There was such a nice mix of places around, and it was one of those walks where you can just take your time and see what looks interesting.
After all that walking, we ended our little street explore with a stop at Caffè Nero for an iced coffee. ☕🤎 It was honestly such a simple part of our Brighton day, but sometimes these relaxed moments become some of my favourite travel memories.
If you're visiting Brighton, I definitely recommend leaving some time in your plans just to walk around and explore the streets rather than rushing from one attraction to another. You might find a café, bakery or little shop you weren't even looking for. ✨
🚶♀️ Perfect for: A relaxed Brighton walk
☕ Our stop: Caffè Nero for coffee
🥐 Look out for: Cafés, bakeries & Turkish food spots
📸 My tip: Take your time — there are lots of interesting streets and buildings to photograph
🤍 Would I explore Brighton on foot again? Definitely!
