TheForkUserBeen lucky enough to fine dine in Paris New York Sydney Singapour and Southend on Sea and Essencia's food easily compares with them all. Lunch was delightful with a great selection, the local Rose wine was cold crisp and dry in fact perfect. We will be returning to sample the rest of the menu although our very helpful waiter did inform us that the menu changes every week so I can see many many visits in the near future .Restaurant Transit

Maybe too fast, no time to take a break between two courses. On the other hand the inside room was noisy, that breaks a little the romantic atmosphere sought.The menu is interesting. In the starters and small appetizers: only very nice surprises. On the dishes: correct, beautiful portions. But... some associations of products/tastes are not successful. It is inventive but not surprising and sometimes a little strange. It lacks a gastronomic touch to the kitchen. We recommend for moments with family or friends. TheForkUserWhen we arrived for our 2000 reservation, it seemed they were not ready for us. No problem, we understand it is early in Spain. The venue is spectacular. I would say it’s like “farmy” with a modern chic feel. We loved the venue! The service was very good. We had several servers that were very nice to speak English for us, even though we were the ones that should speak Spanish. The food came out quick but there wasn’t much follow-up. Regarding the food - we had gyoza (they were spot on). We also had spicy edamame and they were fresh, spicy, and crisp. We had the Bobila Poke bowl and it was the star of the show. The mix of flavor from seaweed, avocado, rice, salmon, and even apple all went well together. We also had sushi. Unfortunately this is where I think things were not top notch. Most specifically with the salmon and tuna roll. Our tuna roll looked like my 7 year old daughter rolled it. There was very little fish, a lot of rice and one of the pieces had almost no tuna in it. The salmon roll was similar. The problem is the fish should be the star of the roll but it was the rice that was prevalent. I really felt let down with the sushi. That being said, the fish was fresh and the taste was spot on. If we return, we would probably eat every bit the sushi.Medes II Restaurant

TheForkUserWe arrived a little early for our 20:00 table and had a cocktail. The dining room was partly full but a separate party was outside. After being seated we waited for 15 minutes to get a menu. After another 15 minutes we had only received some water and while looking around saw that hardly anyone but the outside party had been served food. As we had a table that could see into the kitchen, you could tell that it was pandemonium. As no one came to take our order and dinner was unlikely to ever arrive in our lifetime, after 30+ minutes we left.Nexe
