Chef knows his stuff with allergies. The heart-shaped bread was a cute touch, and the dairy-free ice cream was actually good. Soup was proper warming on a chilly day.

Solid pub with a good range of ales on tap. The steak and ale pie was the highlight for me – proper flaky pastry and a rich, meaty filling. A bit on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for.

The staff were friendly, and Beth in particular was really nice. The place has a relaxed, cosy feel to it. The food was decent, though the pasta portion was a bit on the small side for the price.

The cod was cooked fresh to order, which you don't always get. The batter was nice and crisp, and the fish inside was still perfectly moist. A solid portion for the price, too.

The pour-over coffee is always spot on. I really liked the CBD green mint tea too, it was a nice, calming find. The whole place just has a really relaxed, quiet vibe that's perfect for a slow morning.

Got seats at the bar without a booking, lucky! Full menu available. Food came out super fast, perfect for a quick lunch. The barramundi was decent. Good spot when you're in a rush.

Gluten-free options are solid, they use a separate fryer. The batter came out crisp, no issues. Good to have a reliable choice for dietary needs.

this is a lovely place to dine.... staff are attentive, welcoming and very polite. Food was delicious, special effort made by them for my granddaughter's birthday. Lovely afternoon, frequent this often.

The tandoori grill came on a regular plate, not a sizzler, which was a bit disappointing. The meat was quite tough.

Staff are nice. Got my sandwich and coffee in under 5 minutes today. Perfect for a quick lunch break.

The roast chicken was spot on, juicy and full of flavour, just like a proper home-cooked meal. The menu had a good few options to choose from. It's a clean, tidy place and the staff were really pleasant. I'll definitely be back for more.

The flatbread is homemade and just incredible. The sides and dips are a nice touch.

Popped in for lunch. The tempura prawns from the buffet were really fresh and crispy. You can tell they're cooked to order, which is nice. Bit of a queue though.

Been here a few times now. The lamb curry is always spot on, really tender. That's the one I keep coming back for.

Inside Grainger Market, this bakery's got a solid selection of fresh breads. Simple spot, you can tell they care about what they're putting out. My sourdough loaf was spot on, great crust. Just a bit of a queue at lunchtime.

As a Newcastle fan, I had to stop in. The memorabilia everywhere is really cool, especially for matchdays. The vibe is spot-on, feels like a proper local spot.

The Botanist offers a stunning atmosphere with its unique decor and a beautiful glass dome, making it a perfect spot for a fun night out.

No. 1 of Bars in Newcastle upon Tyne

A nice family-run Italian in Jesmond. The atmosphere is lovely and homely, good for a quiet dinner. Service was consistently fine, though the pasta was a touch under-seasoned for my taste. Decent spot overall.

First time here last night. We shared the Railway lamb curry and the lamb Madras – both were really good. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was nice. I particularly liked how comfortable the booths were, made the whole meal very relaxing. Will be back.

Came in for a bite and really enjoyed the food. The place has a nice boutique feel to it. Service was friendly and quick. A solid spot for a relaxed meal.

Been coming here for years. The mirchi chicken jalfrezi is always spot on. Lamb tikka starter is thick and juicy, proper portions too. Never had a bad meal.

Grabbed the halloumi fries and chicken strips for a quick lunch. Both were spot on, came out fast. Good to see plenty of veggie options on the menu too.

Solid pub grub, good value. The Sunday roast was a proper one, beef was tender, and the Yorkshire pudding spot on. All-day breakfast hit the spot too, decent sausages. Exactly what you want from a local.

A decent place for a treat. The portions are generous and everything tasted fresh. Staff were friendly and quick, even on a busy evening. The flavours are pretty good, though a couple of dishes were a touch heavy for me.

The food is consistently good. The lamb shank was fall-off-the-bone tender, rich sauce, perfect with the mash. That's what keeps me coming back.

Stopped in for a quick lunch during a work trip. My salad arrived in about 10 minutes, still crisp and fresh. The greens tasted so vibrant, and the chicken was perfectly seasoned. It was a quiet afternoon, which let me really focus on the quality of the ingredients. Just what I needed.

Staff were friendly and helpful with the menu. Good suggestions on both food and drinks. Service was efficient, which I appreciate for a business lunch. No fuss, got the job done.

Found this place by chance. The owner has such a good sense of humour, really made the whole room smile. Just a nice, easy vibe to have a meal in.

Decent pub, nothing fancy. Popped in for a pint and ended up staying for the live band. The music was actually pretty good, a nice surprise for a random Friday night. Drinks are what you'd expect. Might swing by again if they have a band on.
