The ambiance at Aurum is truly special, making it a great spot for celebrations, although the food could be elevated to match the beautiful setting.

The lighting in there is something else&mdash;soft and warm, makes you want to stay longer. Pizza was solid, crust had that nice chew. Pasta was good too, nothing fancy but comforting. Place had a relaxed hum to it, not too loud. Just a dependable little spot for a weeknight bite. Maybe slightly pricey for what it is, but the atmosphere kinda makes up for it.

Truffle pasta was legit the best I&#39;ve had in JHB. Wine list had some solid picks too. Place was a bit quiet for a Friday night but honestly didn&#39;t mind.

Went for the set menu and it was pretty good. The steak came out exactly as asked, and the sauce was decent. Place was a bit noisy by the time we left, but that&#39;s on us for booking late. Service was fine, nothing to complain about. Wouldn&#39;t mind going back if I&#39;m in the area again.
