Portion sizes above average and, even when there's rugby on or a super-sized party in attendance, the service is remarkably quick and reliable. Yorkshire Puddings are a meal on their own :-) Book in advance, though. There's a roaring fire on in the winter so you'll be cosy too and after a pint you will feel your face getting extremely warm! It's every bit as good as we remembered it - great food, great ambience, friendly and efficient service. The pub itself felt very festive and cozy, perfect for the Winter ahead and a very inviting bar and selection. The food we ordered was delicious, 3 out of 4 of us ordered the pie of the day which was delicious along with accompaniments and a very good portion. We will definitely be back, and we very much enjoyed the pub quiz. On the pricier side but we had an offer through the APP so that helped.
