The pizza crust is so thin and crisp, just the way I like it. Loaded with toppings that actually have flavor. A nice, simple spot for a casual dinner.

Steak and fries are solid. Good portions, quality ingredients. Gets a bit chilly by the windows though.

Plenty of parking on site was welcome, as were the smiles of the receptionist.This hotel / restaurant is in our view locked in a time warp. It would have been the epitome of grace and charm in the 1950&#39;s and a classic example of an upmarket get-away, in tune with the spa town, which is Bagnoles sur L&#39;Orne.. It is clean &amp; well decorated, good linen with Limoges pottery. Judging by the age of the clientele, this style suits the over 80&#39;s admirably.The restaurant has an accomplished chef; one or two of the dishes were superb, The goats cheese starter was well judged and the Marnier soufl&eacute;e was divine. But my wife&#39;s steak was tough and overdone, her pat&eacute; de compagne uninspired and we had to send the main course potato dish back to the kitchen as it had not been properly heated up.It is quite possible that our fellow diners were all delighted with their meals - we heard no adverse comments from adjacent tables. Admittedly, this was a wet, quiet Monday evening in the middle of April and Bagnoles is not yet buzzing with well healed visitors. But, in our view, the restaurant (we cannot speak for the hotel) needs a lot of investment and the input of a talented interior designer to bring it into the 21st century. All the staff will then be able to take pride again in their offering.

My wife and I have been in France for about 10 days and have not had a better dinner than we had at Le Gourmand.  The dining room is quite charming.  The hostess also served as server and did it all seamlessly. She is also the wife of the chef who came out at the end of the evening to break bread friends.  The food was quite perfect, from the three complementary dishes served as amuses bouche to the perfectly cooked and served main courses.  We have eaten French food for years and in many parts of France and elsewhere but have rarely had so perfect a meal.

The bread here is just right, crispy outside but still soft inside. I really appreciate that the condiments taste so fresh, you can tell they&#39;re made daily. It&#39;s a good, simple kebab spot.

Friendly staff, quick service. They switched to English when they heard my accent, which was nice. The food came out fast.

It had been quite a few years since we last dined there and the restaurant had been completely revamped on our return. I think it had lost some of its character with the revamp? Nonetheless, food was very good and service quick and staff were very polite. We&#39;d the set menu and 3 courses for 17 euros each, very good value. Would certainly go back !

The set menu is a steal at &euro;24-&euro;30. Portions are huge and the wine list actually works with the food.

Been a regular for a while now. Honestly, I keep coming back for one thing: their profiteroles. The choux is so light, and the cream inside is just right. It&#39;s the dessert I dream about.
